Customers value the easy installation process of the 700C Powered Bicycle Wheel, particularly noting the simplicity of removing the battery. However, concerns are raised regarding the battery life, with some customers expressing dissatisfaction about the limited distance the small battery allows for.

I had a fairly good experience with customer service. My battery broke and after exchanging a few emails I was sent a replacement battery at no charge. Rode great again. For a while. Its been appx a year with the replacement battery and now this one is broken. Exactly the same as the previous one. Possibly a manufacturing problem or a design flaw but as of now my $1000 e-bike is a brick. I might try contacting customer service again but I expect all of the batteries will have the same design flaw. The wheel will work very well for ~100 miles or 20-30 charge cycles but eventually all the speed bumps and pot holes will break something inside the battery and turn the whole thing un-usable. You will go up or down a curb and all of a sudden... completely dead. No lights. No power. Lucky to reach 1mph without breaking into a full-sweat. I love the design and using the wheel, when it works. I even bought a blue and black 700c one-speed to match my geo-orbital. At least 2-3 people come up to me each ride with compliments/questions about it. But unfortunately ill have to switch back to the car for my short trips around town..

Built very strong, and made of aluminum not plastic. My wife and I have been riding for over 1 year. Lots of fun and very smooth and quiet. Battery is easy to remove, though usually I just charge in wheel.
Has a great pedal mode for in city - when in a low gear just pedal without pressing throttle, can travel up to about 12 mph. Great for riding downtown. When want to zip you can travel up to 20mph - so cool. Riding up hills you feel like superman - plenty of power. Very happy.

This electric wheel is very heavy but it works great going up hills. With pedal assist going up hills makes it easy. It's a fun tool to have on my bike.

This has changed my life

This wheel has drastically changed the way I get around. We are a one car family and I used to typically rely on public transit and walking to get anywhere. I have always wanted to bike more to places but since I live in Pittsburgh, I swear I am always biking up hill!
This always drove me nuts. Enter the GeoOrbital wheel. Holy smokes, this is incredible.
The start, the wheel does work pretty well on full electric on its own. If you are on a flat road or a slight hill, it can power you up to 20mph no problems. When the big hills enter, you do have to pedal to get it up the hill at a normal speed.
If you pedal along with the wheel, you will go far and fast! I am currently getting 15+ miles of range while assisting the wheel. This drains it to the red light but I haven't completely killed the battery yet. Still though, this is plenty far to get me wherever in the city and back. I bought some rear bags and I use a backpack, grocery runs are no issue now. I used to have to carry the bags home by walking.
I will say that some of the reviewers were right. It seems to get a little better battery life as I continue to use it. Not sure if it is something with the battery or if it is me learning to work with it better.
Either way, this wheel is a fantastic addition to your bike. You'll be riding longer and further in no time!

Positive: easy to install
Negatives:
poor build quality.
No pedal assist
Pedaling without battery power is nearly impossible
Super heavy
I rode less than 20 miles on a paved bike path and the few bumps I hit caused this thing to start wobbling. Reaching out to their customer service they told me this was normal. I was worried it wouldn't even make it back to my house it was wobbling so bad.
I tried riding without using the throttle, which supposedly charges the battery slightly, and let's you keep going if the battery dies. The amount of resistance the motor adds when not engaged is insane. Literally have to work really hard to maintain a 6mph pace of the battery is dead or you aren't on the throttle.
On top of that, the thing weighs as much as my entire bike. That's not that big of a deal and was expected, but the added weight along with the insane resistance it means you can't use your bike unless you are throttling on the whole time.
This thing sucks. Mind you, this is for the 700c for road bike wheel.

I've had this wheel for about 6 months now. The installation is as easy as the say and its more powerful than my wife's Trek E-Bike. It's definitely an eye grabber - everyone asks me where i got it and how much it cost. they ask me is that the one form Kickstarter and I say YUP, sure is! I've backed a few projects before, but this is the coolest by far! The only problem with this wheel is that their a wearing in period, for the first 50 miles or so it felt stiff and rough. i though it was the solid tire that was hard, but i ended-up being that the whole thing was "wound too tight" and needed to loosen up. I emailed the company and they told that their is a breaking in period. which though was weird, but that's what it was. rides like a champ now.

Unreliable wheel

I have ridden this wheel less than 200 miles, and it has broken down on me (battery issues) 4 times. The first 3 were within the year warranty and were eventually repaired by GeoOrbital, but the 4th is past one year and the company wants me to pay to have it repaired. This wheel is, very unfortunately, too unreliable for me to spend any more money on. Very disappointing.

Easy install; not enough power

First the good news: it really is as easy to install as they claim. It was more complicated and took longer to take out of the box than install on my bike. Not counting unpacking time, I really was finished installing in 60 seconds.
Next, the bad news: The wheel wasn't powerful enough to get me up the hill to my home; and that's why I bought it - to commute from metro on hot days. I am big guy and the hill was steep. Wheel worked great on flat or less steep inclines.
Also, I didn't like the throttle only configuration. In order to shift gears, you had to take your hand off the throttle and the bike decelerated dramatically (by design it has regenerative braking) but not what I wanted (shifting gears to go faster). If you only plan to use the throttle and not shift gears while peddling, it might work for you.
My experience was limited (only 1 mile) but I decided to return the wheel.

Got my wheel in 2018 after I saw them on Shark Tank. Been using it 3-4 times a week to get to work, roughly a 10 mile commute each way, and this gets me there and back no sweat! Definitely beats taking the bus/subway or my car any day in terms of speed, parking, and overall enjoyment of commuting. No issues with the tire (saw some other reviews from people with tire issues), feels firm but pretty much identical to my previous 700C racing tire. The whole wheel seems like it's still got plenty of life left in it, but I take good care of it (bring it in during the winter, and wipe it down after being in the rain). Easy to swap in and out for my weekend rides when I want the exercise, it takes me only a couple of minutes now that I know what Im doing.

Used my GeoOrbital wheel for two seasons. Use it for fun & commuting.
Never a flat. Built really strong, no plastic.
Key is to download the Riding Mode Guide from their website. Many don't understand the wheel has two modes, pedal and throttle. And it has regen braking to charge the battery. You will need to press the throttle when in regen(but that is why I bought it!).
Super happy, very good quality. Really easy to install. Great how you can control how much assist with easy to use throttle. Buy one you will like it!

This wheel is great. So much fun. Super powerful , and removable battery. I am 245lbs (already lost 10 lbs) but getting lighter every day because of this wheel! Hills are now fun. You will have to pedal on the very steep hills, but not straining at all. Feel like Superman. Built like a tank. Never get a flat tire either. My friend who bought an Elektron wheel returned his after riding mine.

Wheel is Junk

dont get suckered into this so called electric wheel that provides assist. the tire is very bumpy, not filled with air, and shreds rather quickly. you wont go very far with such a small battery. it also made my bike very heavy in the front. i took it back. ended up buying a real ebike, a Yamaha Cross Core. Awesome ebike. Anything advertised for under $1500 pretending to be electric assist is junk folks. save your money.
