My unit was defective, no sound so I returned it. I called Asus and they were not able to resolve the problem

Check Software Compatibility First

I think the monitor is functional but this top line ultra high definition display is not compatible with older software and hardware. We have a 6 year old HP laptop running windows 7 and when using Quickbooks 2015 the display was thoroughly distorted. None of the online forum suggestions worked and we finally found a Quickbooks post admitting they were aware of the problem and the only fix was to upgrade to the latest version 2017. We were going to purchase but then had problems with our browser and facebook when scrolling. We got these black areas, no video, and it would remain for more than a minute not updating/refreshing. Also with Microsoft Excel the upper screen would only faintly display the tool bar/menu tabs. If you moved the cursor over the the area, the item would slightly illuminate and could be selected but obviously you couldn't work this way. I think the monitor as hardware is okay to purchase but check the incoming video compatibility
