This tablet is by far the best electronics purchase I've made in quite a while. It runs fantastically, and I haven't had a single issue with it. The only annoyance is that it doesn't have a slot for external storage. Every app I've tried works flawlessly on this thing, and it's by far the best Android device I have ever used. Multitasking and split screen work perfectly and without any lag at all, and it's just overall a great experience using it.

I spotted this tablet in the store one day, and I kept coming back to look at it. There were two things that made me purchase it over other models:
1. The size - I was looking for a tablet at about 10 inches to replace my aging Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, which is a nice tablet, but the the battery is getting weak and Amazon is not updating it anymore.
2. An Android tablet with an (somewhat) up-to-date version of Android. I prefer iOS over Android, but as someone who does some technology support and needs to keep up with the market, I want one tablet with Android that can help me keep familiar with it enough to provide support when needed.
Unlike a previously purchased Samsung tablet, which can still be purchased as of this writing, this tablet is running Android 7.0 out of the box. The Samsung tablet I bought only 6 months earlier is running Android 5.0 Lollipop, and based on evidence I have found online, has no intention of updating it. This is not only poor service from Samsung, it's also unsafe. If your device cannot receive updated versions of its operating system, it is far more vulnerable to the attacks that we hear about - rather frequently now. I don't know if Acer will do a better job than Samsung, but consider Samsung is selling a "new" tablet with a generation-old operating system, AND not planning on updating it, Acer is already ahead of the game.
Here are a couple of pros and cons I have found with this tablet:
PROS
- Nice size screen - very bright and colors are well saturated.
- Speakers are on the front of the device, a rare find.
- Excellent battery life. I can use it to check my email, surf the web, and watch some YouTube each evening, and not need to charge it for 4-5 days.
- Well it's not a powerful tablet, it's responsiveness seems snappy.
CONS
- While the speakers are on the front, the sound quality is poor. I'm not an audio-obsessive type, but I can definitely say that the sound on my Kindle Fire HDX, Apple iPad Mini, and even that Samsung tablet I referenced sound better than this. The sound is clear, but it definitely doesn't sound like stereo speakers.
- The design of the SD card slot "door" is poor. It's very hard to close after you open it. If you are one to swap SD cards in your device, you may find dealing with this door is not worth the effort.
- If you are accustomed to Apple's Retina displays, or other similar quality, you will be disappointed in this tablet. You CAN see the pixels in it. I am much more sensitive to this than the audio (I guess my vision is better than my hearing), but for the way I use this tablet, it really hasn't bothered me. This is also possibly because of the larger screen size that means that the screen appears clearer because I don't have to be as close to it to see small details.
- It's heavy.
I bought this tablet on sale for just over $100, so the cons were not as much of an issue for me, and the tablet meets my needs even with these shortcomings. My dissatisfaction with Samsung tablets made me open up to whatever options I could find. Again, I am looking to have an Android device to help me stay familiar so I can provide technical support, but it's not my first choice. Therefore, I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I do want a usable device. If you are looking for a tablet to sit on the coffee table to check email, Facebook, or let the kids play with, this is a good option.

i bought this tablet online and i didn't notice until it was too late to return it that the date & time is behind by an hour. i sent it off to Acer 3 times and got it back unfixed, they said it was not a hardware issue, and to contact Android for support, they gave me the run around. so i finally figured out that in order for the date & time to be correct, i have to turn Location OFF in my Android settings, Acer said they scheduled me a callback about this issue in which i do not expect them to help me because they haven't thus far. refrain from buying Acer, and i had a similar experience with Sony

I bought this Acer tablet as an upgrade to the Insignia 10.1 tablet I purchased earlier in the year. I sure wish this tablet had come out sooner! For a tablet that is thrown into the starter tablet category, it sure handles like a high end one.
It automatically comes with Android 7.0 Nougat installed which is awesome and even has an update available right out of the box when you go to the update menu in the settings. A huge plus to Acer for applying current software and supporting updates!
The screen resolution is wonderful, and watching HD video's on YouTube, Netflix, or elsewhere are just visually great! In my experience it also connects to Bluetooth and WiFi easily and seamlessly.
One of the things I love about this tablet is that the speakers are in the front, allowing for a much more enjoyable experience and they sound pretty good when turned up as well.
As software goes, there isn't much loaded onto the tablet. It is missing several general Android apps, and gives you an Acer Portal feature which is a bit lacking and a bit unnecessary in my opinion.
One area this tablet performs like a starter tablet is in the speed and graphical power. For general use every thing is silky smooth, but if you play any graphically and battery demanding games that require a constant internet connection it does seem to under perform a bit graphically. I am able to tell a noticeable different in resolution in a couple games I play between the tablet and my phone. It's not bad, but it's not great either.
This tablet is all around smooth running, has good battery life, and seems very sturdy and well built. The headphone jack has a strong and solid connection when plugged in, and also has a micro SD slot hidden under a cover on the camera assembly. Some people have complained about the quality of the cover but it seems fine to me.
If I had to ask for one thing from Acer, is PLEASE add an offline FM Radio module app to the tablet, so when I plug in headphones they act as an FM antenna and can listen to live radio. The other tablet I upgraded from that competes with this one had this feature and I used it all the time.
I would recommend getting this tablet over any other in it's price range. For this price, this tablet is hard to beat. It is a very good tablet.

Acer products have always been a great low price purchase! For the low amount you pay for this, you are getting really good specs, a nice screen, good reliability, and decent battery life. I also own a Acer Chromebook 15 which is a phenomenal purchase also.. a definite good buy the iconia one 10 is. 32gb storage, 2gb ram, Android 7.0 ensure good performance!

I have used many tablets, from "budget" to even a few in the $400+ price range. I did not feel the high priced tablets were worthy of such a hefty price tag, so have generally worked with the lower priced units. Anyway, on to this tablet.
First, let me say it is one of the fastest I have used in this price range. Snappy performance due to 2GB ram, connects to internet well with quick downloads, excellent screen with good angle of view, attractive design, and a feature I really like is that there are a few controls for modifying basic picture - contrast, temperature, etc. Battery life appears to be a little above average for a large tablet.
As with anything, there are a few cons - a lack of some ports other tablets may have such as HDMI, full size USB. The "app drawer" where you can see all installed apps is missing in Android 7.0, but there is a Google app that restores the drawer, and gives a look more like Android 6.**.

Great size and doesn't come with the usual bloatware that comes with many other Android tablets. The biggest complaint would be the fact that the screen is rather delicate. The one that I bought for my daughter got an internal crack screen, which Geek Squad was unable to fix, so they sent me a brand new one since I had the 2-year protection plan.
I recommend for anybody to get a glass screen protector for this tablet since those are usually the best and get some type of protection plan via Geek Squad. It can save you some major headache down the road.

You wont find a Android 7.0, Quad core, 2GB Ram and a 1080 screen tablet for a better deal. I purchased this for my son who needed a new tablet comming from a broken Ipad. This is 1/4 the cost of the low end Ipad and can handle pretty much every game my son played in the app store. These are so cheap they are almost disposable, if it lasts a year we got our moneys worth.

My son has an Acer laptop so I decided to try out an Acer product since he said it had been and still is a good product. I loaded all of my programs from Google Play account and everything seemed to work fine. It was a little slow but for the price I was happy. Then a message appeared that said there was a new update for the tablet. I update my Microsoft computers continually so I didn't think anything about it. After the update it started giving me error messages that said "Google Play was shutting down" and it wouldn't stop doing it. I read everything I could find on the internet about the problem and tried a lot of things. Then I saw where someone said they loaded an older version of the update and their problem went away. I normally don't handle problems like these I just want to put my software on the computer and use it, so I had to figure out how to do that and I did. My problem went away and I finally got everything loaded and ready to use and as I was testing a couple of things everything quit working. I had set it up to store a bunch of my programs on my 32 gigabyte SD card. It acted like it lost contact with the card and I had thought that maybe I didn't put it in right because it kept wanting to come back out but then suddenly it caught and stayed in. I had to reload everything. That is around 65 programs. It all started working right and I used it for a few days. I thought okay I got this. A month or so later I took it to an annual convention. I have a Bible and quite a bit of other publications that I planned to use at this convention. It worked great until about two hours into the convention then it went totally black. I opened the little hatch on top carefully to look at the SD card. It was out. I knew then what I was in for so I made my phone a hot spot and got on the internet to set up the tablet again but I left the SD card completely out of it and loaded only what I needed to get through the convention. I decided I would just try to use it without the SD card and give it up. I bought the thing in May of 2017 ,I think, and I have used it for several months and it seemed to be getting slower and slower and slower. So today I decided that I would let it load an update that has just started showing up on screen when I reboot the tablet. It put me right back where I started. It started again with the Google Play is shutting down messages. This did it for me. My experience would lead me to say that anyone who is computer tech savy might figure this out and fix it, but I am not a computer tech and don't want to be one. I own 10 computers. I own a small company. I have never experienced this much trouble with any of them. Not that everything runs perfect with everyone else's computers, this has just been the worst experience. As I was typing the previous sentence I saw the screen light up on the tablet and it says "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped" and I don't even have it open.

Just got tablet to replace a Samsung Note 10.1 that died after 5 years and have so far been very impressed with this tablet.
Pros - 7.0 Nougat (a lot of higher end tablets are still running 5.0), 32 gb of storage (expandable with micro sd), 2 gb of ram, 10.1 display, small amount of bloatware, MS Office apps installed (they work very well) .
Cons - no usb-c for charging, charging was a little slow but not a show stopper, low resolution but ok for price point.
All of the pros were major concerns on finding a replacement and it looked like it would cost around $300 to find those features on a tablet so for a little over $100 it is an excellent bargain. I dont play alot of games on tablets so cant speak on its performance for that use but for email, web, ms office, netflix, e reader its a very nice choice. A little slow to boot from off but once its running almost no lag starting/switching apps. I have a couple of Acer chromebook, and monitors and have not had any issues with Acers quality.

Just got this new Acer B3-A40 tab recently. We have the previous B3-A30 model which has been working great for about a year now and no issues to date. We liked the old one so much we bought a 2nd one a month later. This new model B3-A40 has great upgrades over the old model. The 2gb RAM is a welcome improvement for smoother overall operation and running high graphic games and movies. We might buy a 2nd one of this new model to replace our two previous models. Great tab for the money. Competes with more expensive Samsung & ipads for much less cost. I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed!
