As my previous laptop was no longer able to keep up with the programs I use regularly, I was in the market for a laptop that could handle my day-to-day use purposes, as well as a laptop capable of light gaming for when I'm traveling. After some research, I settled on this laptop as its specs on paper appeared to be specifically what I was in the market for. Pros: It has powerful specs for the price. It easily runs older games at max settings, and it even runs more modern games at medium settings at a high refresh rate. For example, Shadow of the Tomb Raider at medium settings was averaging between 90-100 FPS when I took it for a test run. Additionally, because of its powerful CPU, it scored similarly to my desktop (RTX 3090/Ryzen 5800X) when benchmarking in PCMark 10 for its spreadsheet, apps, web, and essentials scores, being within 10% of the score for each. Lastly, it is extremely easy to upgrade if you need additional storage. It comes with one M2 drive already installed with Windows 10 (among other things), then has an extra M2 slot free as well as a 2.5 inch drive bay. If you are familiar with computers, but perhaps unfamiliar with this specific laptop, Acer put out a good instructional video on how to upgrade the storage. While I am unsure if every model will use the same type of ram, the model I got also came with 16 GB of 3200 MHz RAM, which is pretty fast as far as laptop RAM goes. Cons: In addition to windows 10, it comes with some standard bloatware that is common to see on laptops and prebuilts. Do yourself a favor and remove whatever you won't use as one of the first things you do. Additionally, while the 3050 Ti does take advantage of the Nvidia ecosystem (i.e.: DLSS support in games that offer it), it only has 4GB of VRAM. As such, you should not expect to be able to run modern titles at max graphical settings. For reference, the scores it got in the PCMark 10 benchmark with Photos, Rendering and Visualization, and Digital Content Creation were each roughly half that of my desktop, keeping in mind that the 3050ti only has a sixth of the VRAM as the 3090. Conclusion: If you're looking for a PC that can run Cyberpunk at max settings at a high refresh rate, then why are you looking at a laptop? If you just need something that can send emails and watch YouTube videos, then why are you spending 1,000 dollars on a laptop? However, if you are like me and you need something that can handle your more resource hungry programs as well as some light gaming on the go, then you may find this suits your needs.

I purchased this laptop around two months back. I am not a gamer, but I use this for simulations and coding. The hardware of the laptop is super for the price. With the windows 11 upgrade, it performs well. BATTERY LIFE: The only thing I would like to highlight is the battery life. If you are using programs like MS Office, it can last a maximum of 6 hr. But for coding and simulations, it is just less than 2hr. I use this machine while plugged into the current. EXTERNAL MONITORS: I am using multiple monitors with this laptop. But it is supporting only one monitor. With a docking station, you can use two monitors. I am using a USB type C docking station. I see a slight color difference in the monitors and a small lag in one monitor. But can make it negligible with controllers. The laptop display itself is really pleasant and good. Really a good laptop in today's market that you can have in this price range. As a daily user of this laptop, I would like to recommend this to anyone who has a similar use like me.

This particular model with the i7 and RTX 3050 ti is a great mid/low high end laptop for a very affordable price. I will lay out the pros and cons and give a more detailed explanation of each. Pros: Very Fast. Temperatures Acceptable. 144Hz makes so much difference. Battery Life. Wireless (Wi-Fi) Cons: Lack of VRAM, Fully Locked CPU, Bloatware, Temperatures Okay I'll start by saying I didn't expect much out of this laptop being on the cheaper side of $1k range. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. This laptop runs faster than my desktop, albeit it currently has a GTX970. I can max out all my favorite games I play with plenty of fps to spare. Games like Witcher 3 The Division Overwatch and COD MW and even Cold War I can play at either Max or a set of High/Medium settings with above 80 fps. The Temps are not too bad either mostly averaging in the 70s with occasional dips into the 80s. The GPU maxes in the 70s. With the 144hz panel gaming competitively is a huge plus to have. The battery life on this is probably the best I've seen on a gaming laptop. Generally having around 4-5 hours which most gaming laptops having about 2-3 hours max. I'm sure this is due to some for of Optimus this laptop uses. I can't say for 100% sure if it does use it but I do know that on default settings the laptop doesn't use the GPU. The Wi-Fi on this laptop is very good as well. I'm able to get a steady stable connection on even the worst areas of the house. Alright for the CONS, having only 4GB of VRAM really holds this laptops gaming performance back. Any newer modern games are only gonna be maxable at medium settings with the texture models far exceeding this cards VRAM limit. It's a shame because this GPU sems very powerful for this particular model. Also with the CPU being fully locked you're out of luck on being able to undervolt or overclock it. Most higher end gaming laptops are undervolt-able for increasing performance while lowering temperatures, however for this laptop you're out of luck. Temperature wise, you need to have a good cool area to play in, while averaging in 70-low 80s maybe acceptable its not preferred by any means for a long term gaming laptop and with undervolting out of the option, there isn't much you can do to lower CPU temps unless you're willing to sacrifice fps performance to disable turbo boost entirely. This might need be a CON to some, but the amount of bloatware this laptop has is insane. I spent about 30-40 minutes just getting rid of all the extra Acer apps and services just to have a decent clean windows experience. Granted some users might use the programs that come with the laptop but me personally don't need them and they only slow resources down. In conclusion, you get what you pay for, yet this laptop is still surprisingly good. If you're looking for a good moderately priced gaming laptop, this will definitely fit the bill. Just make sure you get the warranty!

I am well beyond pleased with my laptop. Lets start this off by saying that this is a definite upgrade from my previous laptop that would take up to 5 minutes to boot up and get running. I can have this thing signed in and ready to go in under 15 seconds. I thought originally that there may be some drawbacks with the GPU as its a 3050 Ti which is only a 4gb video card but it runs everything very smoothly. The screen only displays 1080 so I really don't need a bigger card to push 4k. I am able to play Microsoft Flight Simulator with no issues at all. I can play Doom Eternal on high settings. There are settings for Ultra but that's where it won't let me change to. That is the only game I have that I can't push max settings but I completely understand it because again, it is meant to play 4k and even if I had the card for that I don't have the screen for it. I will say even in High settings the lighting, shadows and ray tracing looks way better than it does on my Xbox One X playing on a 4k tv. I have hooked this thing up to my 4k tv a few times just playing around and everything looks really sharp. Playing Microsoft Flight Sim on a laptop hooked up to a tv I thought would look a bit muddy but nope looks great. Another concern was this thing over heating while playing for longer sessions. I played Doom Eternal for 2 straight hours and had the fan settings about 75% for both cpu and gpu fans and it never got over 150F. I will say the fans are kind of loud, especially if you are running it on max but honestly it's not a game changer for me. Besides in this day and age who really plays games without a nice headset or some kind of sound system? I know that this isn't the be all end all for pc gaming and there are better laptops out there, and even better desktops. Im not debating that. But for the price, this cannot be beat.

This is a fantastic computer. It is my second Acer Nitro, and the first one lasted nearly 6 years before being retired to back up status. That first Acer was my primary computer for everything and was used every day. Now, when it was time to buy a new laptop, both for work, travel, and as a backup to my main computer, I stayed with the Acer Nitro. This laptop has all the hardware I need for work and gaming. It is fast, reliable, and has worked without a flaw. I have used other gaming laptops over the years, and I cannot say that about most machines. The RTX 3050Ti will be the most contentious part of this computer. The processor is brand new (11th Gen Intel), but the graphics card is a step below all the newer 3060's and above. This will matter to gamers. I am a gamer. I have a high end super gaming desktop that I use for everything, including games. I did not need this computer to play all my games at 2K resolution and above. It needed to play my games when I wanted to (usually while traveling), at a resolution matching its screen (1920x1080), and this Nitro has done just that. I have tested Doom Eternal, Ori and the Will O Wisps, Wasteland 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, and the Tomb Raider series. It played all of those games. Was it as sharp and fast as my super desktop? No, but I did not need it to be and I did not expect it to be. Was it fast and fun considering what is inside this laptop? Yes. For this reason, I highly recommend this laptop for work and play. Acer did change the air intake via the fans from the past. This machine clearly moves air better than before, and while playing some of those games listed, the fans were at full speed, and I could feel it sucking air through the bottom and out the sides. There is software that can manage this that came with the computer. The weakest part of this laptop is the audio coming through the speakers. They have to compete with the fans moving air. I rarely care about audio quality coming from a laptop because I use headphones, but I do wish the speakers were a bit better. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. It is exactly what I need. A gaming computer that can play all the games I own good enough to enjoy them on the road or away from my main computer. All programs opened fast, and Zoom worked perfectly. You cannot ask more from a computer in this price range. If you can find one in stock, buy it.

This thing ticked all the boxes I needed from it and does not disappoint. Runs everything as smooth as butter with no need to tinker around with settings. Fans are a bit loud once you start gaming, but that's to be expected, and I imagine battery life's not great when you're pushing its limits, but that's not what you get a gaming laptop for anyway.

This is exactly what I wanted in a laptop I've been using a Chromebook for the past few years and finally decided it was time to move to PC. I chose this laptop because I don't intend to take it anywhere although it's very light screen is vivid and the keyboard is a full size keyboard with RGB lights. It comes with the Nvidia graphics card 16 GB of RAM upgradable to 32 and the newest generation Intel processor. The only downside is the storage is SSD and only 512 mb. It does not have a second slot for additional memory so your options are either external memory or upgrading the SSD drive. Lastly I'm happy with my purchase and the price I paid for it

I'm in Love with this laptop. It is Super fast, super efficient, and super cool. It's actually faster than my desktop, which has twice the RAM (32GB) and a nVideo 2070 Super graphics card w/8GB RAM. I love everything about it. I guess the only thing I would change is the red backlighting. There's really no reason why ASUS can't install some software or add a button to allow customers to change RGB colors. Just sayin' ...... 100 STARS!

Acer Nitro 5 with i7 1800H w/ GeForce RTX 3500Ti, 16GB ram, 512GB SSD and Windows 11. My previous computer was quite old. 4gb ram and an Athelon A6 processor. This Nitro 5 is so amazing in terms of download speed, data transfer, and workability with MANY active items all running simultaneously. Just transferring files from the old computer took over 35 minutes to move a file set to a high speed thumb drive. When I placed the drive into the Nitro, it took 2 minutes to bring them on board! A gigantic program I use almost daily took roughly 8 minutes to fully load and begin work on the previous computer. This one loads and opens, ready to work in about 2 seconds! The NO GLARE screen is wonderful. It's full HD but not 4k, but in a 15.6" screen, I don't believe anyone who says they can tell the difference. It looks as sharp and clear as my 4k 65" television. The light up keyboard is a really nice feature. I appreciate the special "N" key near the keypad that opens the Nitrosense app any time to adjust performance based on current need. The only thing I wish were different would be a bigger hard drive. At least 1TB would be nice, but in this price range, this is a very VERY well equipped and powerful, fast laptop.

I purchased this laptop for my 10 year old because she LOVES gaming - mainly Roblox, Minecraft, and Such Art - and her other laptop just couldn't keep up. We're super happy with our purchase of the Acer Nitro 5 - the processer is so fast - it takes her seconds to get into games - and there's absolutely no lag at all. 5 STARS for sure!

Amazing performance and definitely the best hardware you can get for your buck atm for this price range vs the competition, but I received a model that makes this very annoying twinning and hissy like noise when the RPM on one of the 2 fans starts to go anything beyond idle. The performance is similar to that of a 1660 Super and between a 1660 Ti, but this fan issue is super annoying and I will likely have to get a swap done whenever stock is reliable enough for me to not wait without a pc forever. Sigh
