The thing is a beast, its biggest complaint i see is the loudness of the fans. However you have to pick and choose your battles, and personally, id rather have a loud laptop than a baked potato. The build quality is excellent and the bulk is much missed. Every laptop nowadays is competing to make them slim, however when they get so small it leaves less room for decent components and cooling. Gotta love the bulk. Keyboard is decent, RGB is awesome, software is decent, screen is amazing, performance is otherworldly, and I can't recommend this thing enough. If you can get it at a discounted frice from $1,300-$1,500 it's a no brainer!

This laptop's a beast. It's not as powerful as it's same specked competitors but it gets the job done. I use it for AI applications and gaming. Im able to set my games to desktop max without any issues. I did update the ram to 32gb though just for an added boost. The heat is manageable however the fans get super high pitched loud. I use a forced air laptop cooler so that the system fans dont have to work too hard. I had a hard time plugging my gaming monitor using an hdmi cable. It had a hard time detecting, I tested several cables just in case and it was the same issue. I started using the thunderbolt port instead and it was seamless. The screen on this machine is beautiful. Overall this is a great budget laptop.

Meets all my gaming requirements and then some. WoW, MW, D4, Skyrim, etc, all at max settings. Got this on sale for less than $1300. Similar laptops and specs listed on other sites weren't even close in price point.
This also doubles as my work computer. No issues there as it supports multiple monitors, bluetooth headset, etc.
The 240 MHz display is great in rendering in game graphics! Tether it to a high res monitor. You'll be shocked in game graphics quality! For instance, I'm seeing in game spell details I've not seen on other gaming laptops I've owned.
Battery life? Why is this even a discussion point on a gaming laptop? If you're not gaming and you use the onboard graphics for work apps like Office 365, etc,, it will last about 3-4 hours before a charge is needed. If you're gaming, it's like every other gaming laptop, the battery life is about 2 hours at best. Powering a mid-level graphics card like the 3070 TI requires a lot of power (wattage). Batteries are not designed to support this requirement and still package up inside a 15" laptop case without melting it! Plug it in if it's available. Most coffee shops, airports/lounges, and commercial aircraft are equipped with power.
Laptop Temps: Use a cooling mat (cooling fans) for this beast if possible! Laptops are notoriously bad at cooling, no matter the design. Laptop manufacturers are trying to keep the device as compact and lightweight as possible. Cooling mats distribute cooler air directly to the fan intake vents and to the overall bottom of the laptop case. It will extend the life of your laptop! Excessive heat is an epic fail for any computer.
Note: I've watched my bro-in-law sit with his gaming laptops on his bed. Cooling fans are screaming because they aren't getting any air flow. He usually kills his gaming laptops inside of 2 years and can't figure out why!
Failbot 9000!
One other note to mention, the speakers and audio on this laptop are amazing, for laptop audio. Other laptops I've had (MSI, ASUS ROG, Alienware) don't come close. It's not something I look for in a laptop since I use nice headphones however, the quality surprised me. Bonus!

This laptop was more bang for the buck than the competition. Was a little heavier but easy to upgrade ram and storage. Helped deal with the heat better with rear exhaust.

This is a good computer, however it does get very hot and it's very noisy as well. Overall, i liked it, but I ended up getting the 2023 M16 4070. Not as powerful as this Acer, but I use my desktop for whenever I need the extra power.
I would only recomend it if you don't have a desktop and need the extra power.

Why ı chosen

Let me explain why I chose this among similarly priced products. This laptop is not as good as the similarly priced asus and msi brands in terms of heating, fan noise, motherboard and battery endurance. As a configurations, you get 4080 GPU at high . But the main thing is that you only get one m2 slot. Also, the screen brightness is at 240 nits. The screen brightness of this laptop is ideal for outdoor use.

Major Upgrade

Absolutely fantastic, big upgrade to what I had. For months while I was saving up money to buy a laptop, I had watched people review a bunch of laptops because there was so much to choose from and I wanted to make the best informed purchase because gaming laptops are expensive. I think I have done just that. This is a noteworthy laptop. It's fast, the screen is a good size, not too big, not too small, just right and bright.
It look nice, but it can get a little loud but it does't bother me because so was my old computer. My favorite thing about this is turbo mode. Press the button and it'll cool down the inside nicely.
The only downside I have is with the battery life. When I'm gaming it easily gets depleted but when doing mundane tasks it lasts for a good while. For me, the battery life is no major issue because I'm always near an outlet. I also don't have to worry about over charging my battery when I have it plugged in when I'm gaming because you can tell the computer to charge no more than 80% by toggling it on is Acer care that comes with the laptop.
All in all, I say get it if you can, and enjoy it!

For $1,300 this is a no brainer if you're in the market for a gaming laptop. The build quality is outstanding. The unboxing experience was a 9 out of 10. I played several AAA titles with absolutely no problems most of them on high some on ultra. The screen is absolutely beautiful and the refresh rate goes a long way in making your gaming experience smooth as butter. The bloatware was at a minimum just year to be expected Nvidia and Acer with a dash of Norton. But nothing out of the ordinary or annoying. It did have quite a few driver updates and security patches that had to be done. Overall I give it a 10 out of 10 especially at The sale price. I will say she is extremely loud on turbo or extreme but it gets the job done the CPU and GPU stay very cool. Other than that if you're on the fence I say go for it I was definitely pleased with my purchase.

The 3070ti in this paired with ddr5 makes it lighting fast out of the box. Most games idle at 240 fps with drops around 120 - 150. Screen looks incredible; even if you have to have it slightly under your nose to see the image its crystal clear. Would purchase again.

Overall this has been a GREAT replacement for me 2010 model Dell XPS 15. It has been a workhorse for everything needed for productivity, work, and gaming. As many will note, the fans are LOUD and the speakers don't have the best low range, but its a middle of the road gaming laptop and there will be compromised.

My favorite laptop out of all the laptops I have owned. Super fast load speeds with the SSD. The RTX 3070Ti is amazing runs all my games on ultra setting. The screen is beautiful! Love the multi-zone backlit keyboard. The predator software package is easy to use with decent control. The only downside of the laptop is the weight, it is hefty. I still put it in my backpack and travel with it daily. This is my desktop replacement and I will not go back. Runs VR great as well, I use it with my quest 2 over airlink. Connection is great, the wifi 6 card is strong and speedy.

I bought a Nitro 5 in early 2020 and during these last 3 years it's been a very dependable work horse for me. Because of that, I decided to stay with Acer and recently upgraded to this model. It came highly recommended from the trusted Jarrodtech and his gaming laptop deals website informed me that it was on sale for $1,600. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I've been loving it. The design is very subtle and sleek and the thermals have been great despite the powerful specs. Though I do recommend capping most games at 60fps via the Nvidia control panel as to minimize fan noise and GPU and CPU work load. Overall, I've been very satisfied with this laptop. It's checked all the boxes for me.

Use this as my travel work laptop, as well as some lower end single player gaming. I upgraded the RAM to 32GB of DDR5 & added a 2TB SSD stick to have 3TB of memory overall. Has performed top notch, only issue I had was some faulty downloaded updates, but Geek Squad figured it out quickly & had me back up & running in a day & a half.
Would definitely recommend this beast of a machine!

With best buy having such a good price on this laptop makes it very worth it. Was 1380 out the door for a 150w 3070ti with a 2k 240hz screen plus higher speed ddr5 and 1tb nvme. Build quality is very good on the these newer predator laptops they dont feel cheap. The only con i can really think of is the speakers arent very loud. Sure you can get a 4070 msi katana for 1500 but the screen is terrible and only 1080p and build quality is very cheap on them.

Great laptop. Bought it with intentions to be on the go and play various games and VR using my Meta Quest 2. Ended up leaving it on my desk and using like a desktop. DONT do this. Lol It has been on for over a year straight and is starting to make some fan noises.

This laptop is exceptional for general computing and playing games when I'm away from my PC at home. It is very responsive but be prepared for it to get loud which may or may not be a problem for some. Forget about using it off the charger though- the battery drains very quickly even when doing tasks that are not resource heavy

Caught it on sale. Great build quality, excellent cooling, and awesome screen. There are cheaper 4070 based laptops, but they usually lack in the aforementioned areas. Runs everything I've thrown at it maxed graphics with 2k resolution. Suggest a lap desk as it can get toasty when under load. Keep in mind the "turbo" mode on this will push all fans to max rpm. Its loud but stops the cpu/gpu from thermal bottleneck.

I've only had this laptop for a few days now, but it is by far the most powerful gaming laptop I've ever owned and one of the more powerful gaming devices I've used besides my desktop. I have an 18 month old, so being able to play any of my games at nearly maxed out settings at 1440p with above 80-90FPS is wonderful. Before this I had a 3050 laptop, which got the job done at lower settings, but in preparation for new games coming out, especially Starfield, I thought it was time to finally upgrade. For 800$ off the original price, this is an absolute steal, even with the 40 series cards being out. From what I've seen this card even goes toe to toe with a 4070 laptop card, and it's quite a bit cheaper than even the cheapest 4070 laptop. I did upgrade the RAM to 32gb and throw in a 2TB NVME in the extra slot, which has turned this thing from a monster into a beast lol. As of now, I recommend this bad boy. Even if you can't add any storage or more RAM right now, everything out of the box is well worth the price.
