Worth the purchase I'm glad I brought the Actiontec screen beam!!
Simple to install and easy to use . Download the app, attach the device to the back of the tv.I do recommend using a stronger connection cord like for a cell phone.I purchased this item about 3 weeks ago. So I could watch whatever playing on my phone can be watched on the tv. The cell phone, tablet, laptop that you are using should have mirriiong or casting on the device will not work. So far I've had no issues with connection or losing a signal. This device does not require internet, wifi or a router which makes it even easier and exciting to use.!! The tv that you are using should also have USB and HDMI ports.

I needed something to connect my phone to my non smart tv, I have a 75 inch DLP Tv and I like it, but it doesn't have smart features so I looked around for something that I could use with out having to have internet like Google chrome cast. This is the product for that, no extra networks needed just a smart phone or laptop with screen mirroring app or feature. And your ready to go. Watch you tube, Netflix, or just anything that shows on your phone right on tv. Get it.

This item works, however there is a slight lag on the screen updating. This is particularly noticeable when moving the mouse or active windows when your going from screen to screen

We have Directv and when we have reception problems due to weather we just "beam" content from my phone to our smart tv via the Screenbeam Mini2 until the storm passes. Also useful for locations where we have no cable subscriptions and displaying games from smart phones to tv screens. Love this device.

I love this product. It doesnt require wifi (unlike Chrome Cast and Amazon Fire Stick) to operate. Just plug in to your hdmi port and begin casting from your device to the big screen. Unfortunately, this product doesn't last long. I've exchanged 3 within 2 months. The 3rd only lasted 2 weeks. I was disappointed so I returned it for a full refund. I called Actiontec customer service and explained their product keeps malfunctioning. They were not interested in what I had to say.

The associate suggested this as solution to play phone to tv. When I say this was the best $50 bucks ever spent!!! I had been running ragged trying to find cords and mhls and hdmi and nothing fit my phone or was being told I needed wifi etc. I plugged this into HDMI port on tv and select screen mirror from phone and WALA!!!! Your phone screen is displayed on tv. Me and bf are able to watch our shows and movies comfortably. No issues with picture or sound ..it appears just as does on phone...only thing the screenbeam has to be plugged into power outlet. I am in heaven..All the tv entertainment without the monthly cable fees. Whatever apps u have downloaded on phone u can watch on ur tv!!! I have a LG G6 phone and no Wi-Fi.

I downloaded the app, which I did not know about. I was under the impression that it was plug'n'play. That's because Best Buy's product video say it was (no hassle/no wires). They forgot to add "no work".
All I got was "oops, something went wrong".
Yeah, I bought it and it doesn't work-that's what's wrong. Now I'm going to make it right by returning this no good, frustrating, waste of time piece of crap.

I bought a Samsung galaxy tab s and purchased the screen beam mini 2, so I could screen mirror to my non smart Toshiba TV, it works amazing! There a few applications that won't mirror to the TV but I understand because they are high quality games so I didn't really expect them to mirror very well but everything else works great movies, pictures, music, overall I'm very happy with the product and would definitely recommend to anyone with a smart phone, tablet, or pc.

Having already purchased Microsoft's "Wireless Display Adaptor" as an accessory for my recently purchased Surface 3 device, but experiencing some set up issues with it; I came across the "ScreenBeam" device while shopping in Best Buy. It caught my eye because it was on sale and was only a fraction of the cost that I'd paid for my Mircrosoft version of it..
Seeking a viable alternative, curiosity/spiked by the propaganda on the box but actually convinced by the cost (i.e. convincing myself; 'what the heck-the sale price plus a few Best Buy "Bonus Points" that I had to use made ir well worth the risk for me'), I purchased it.
I have absolutely no regrets about my decision or the purchase of the device; other than the fact that I wish I'd known about it before spending about twice as much on its Mircrosoft counterpart.
The ScreenBeen is virtually plug & play and the extension and AC adaptor cord is about twice as long as the Microsoft device. Hence, my Microsoft version is now serving as my backup, as I'd intended the ScreenBeam to be.
Suffice it to say; I love this thing!! So much so, I've since purchased another as a gift for my son as a supplement to his college graduation gift (I.e. as an accessory to his Surface 3 device/grad gift). I'm thinking about purchasing yet another or two for the wife and/or daughter as Christmas presents.

The best thing about this device is that it can project whatever is on your phone onto a TV screen. It is wonderful for taking a streaming movie on the phone and projecting it on the TV screen. My wife likes to watch episondes of HGTV and she can stream those to her phone...but she likes to watch them while exercising. So, since she doesn't want to be holding her phone while walking on the treadmill, she merely "mirrors" her phone display/sound onto a nearby TV and can enjoy her walk and show simultaneously. One problem however is that the device seems best when it is dealing with a streaming signal. If one is trying to view a static image on the TV screen the image will show up on the TV for awhile....but it will drop off. For example, if you look up a recipe on your phone and want to make it visible throughout the kitchen one can project the phone image of the recipe in large font on a nearby TV. However, after a few minutes, the image will drop out and the connection between the phone and TV will expire. One has to constantly reconnect the two devices if one wants to see the static image stay visible on the TV.

Pros:
Does what it is intended to do. Does not need wireless internet to work. It displays everything from your tablet or phone. Easy to set up.
Cons:
Would like it if the power could be drawn from the HDMI cable. Has a full screen problem when linking an older phone. The HDMI quality is good but not great.
Overall:
This product delivers exactly what it was intended to do. I also love the fact that you can really connect any device that has a screen mirroring function.

Setup was easy enough to accomplish. Screen casting from Windows 10 was straight forward. You can only connect one device at a time. Be aware that it will constantly broadcast for a connection which might lead to someone connecting to your device and pushing unwanted content to your TV. I would unplug it when you are not using it. I didn't find any info on any security protocol at all.
