The Definitive Guitar Hero Controller

Guitar Hero II is a game that requires 2 people to play in co-op (on one Xbox 360) in order to receive all of the achievements. Now you can use the regular controller and in many cases, it can even be easier. Although to have the full experience and to have the most fun, both people using the guitar is a plus.
As far as specs go, if you have the game, it is the same one that came in with the game. It has the whammy bar, it has the 5 fret buttons, and it has the strum button. It does have a cord and it is certainly long enough to back up pretty far. Also, the design is very unique to the Xbox 360. So do yourself a favor and get the Official Guitar Hero II controller and dont't spend your money on those un-efficient third party controllers.

We purchased two of these controllers after thanksgiving (about 2 months ago). Since then, we've had to exchange four times for new ones. Each time we have the same problems - the green button & strum stop working. Inevitably, the controllers last about two weeks before breaking. Most recently, when we returned to do our fifth exchange, Best Buy informed us no CO stores have any more in stock. We wonder if they have stopped carrying due to these issues. We couldn't get Best Buy to confirm other consumers having problems, but find it curious that every one we have bought breaks in the same way & time frame. We thought the wireless controller might be a safer bet, but several online reviews show it as even less reliable.
At this point, we are keeping our Best Buy store credit in hopes Activision will fix these problems or someone will produce a more reliable controller.

Good Guitar!

I got this guitar packaged with GH II and absolutely LOVE it! My buddy has GH III and has the wireless one and I HATE that one. This one has a better feel and is nice to use. Kinda hard to find the start and select button but otherwise I love it. HOWEVER, my buddy got lucky and found one in a Best Buy and purchased it so he could have two guitars. The Green Button stopped working within 2 weeks of use. It wasn't even heavy use, it just stopped working. When we returned it we discovered that they no longer sell guitars for XBox 360 and now have to wait until April until they release the wireless guitar in stores. Not a Bright Marketing Move! Overall, I recommend this guitar, if you can find it other than online!

X-Plorer > Les paul

1. In my opinion, this guitar is better than the wireless Gibson Les Paul. The shape is smaller and more controllable.
2. The only negative thing about the X-Plorer is that it is not wireless. You also cant change the faceplates like the Gibson, but their are skins available (& Stickers that come with the game).
3. NOTE: Once you first purchase this guitar, the fret keys may be a little stiff and hard to push down. Simply play a few games and break them in.
Controll: 4.5
Game play: Works well after fret keys are built in
Overall: 4.5

well after using the gh3 guitar for a long time now it finally has started to wear out. the whole point of buying this guitar is that it IS wired. you don't have to worry about finding more AA batteries. this is a decent guitar. all the buttons work fine and the strummer is good. the only thing i would change is the location of the select button. if you don't want to wait for the wireless guitar to sell separately then definitely pick this up. it's a solid guitar despite most of the negative reviews you see posted.
