Temperature readings are not as accurate during the day its in the shade but still registers about 15 degree too high but evening and norning temp readings are spot on.ive tried 4 different locations but same results

We apologize that your unit is reading inaccurately, but we would be happy to assist! First, please make sure that you are using fresh batteries in both units, then perform the following reset. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and remove batteries from the outdoor sensor. Make sure that the Wireless Reception Indicator on the display drops to zero bars to ensure that your display was connected to the correct sensor. (If your wireless reception indicator already indicates zero bars, please proceed to Step #2.) NOTE: If your display unit continues to show a strong connection, there is another sensor in your area that your display is connecting to (either a neighbor's or from another of your AcuRite units). If you have multiple sensors, make sure to use a different ABC channel on each. 2. Remove the batteries and/or power adapter from the display unit. 3. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel then press and hold the reset button in the battery compartment of the display for 20 seconds, if applicable. 4. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 5. Once the batteries are inserted you should see the red LED light blink approx. every 16 seconds on the front of the sensor. The red LED light should NOT stay on continuously. 6. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit then immediately press and hold the reset button again for 20 seconds, if applicable. 7. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. This thing is OK. Cute and robust display. Good size for tabletop placement.
I didn’t realize that this needed to be plugged into an AC outlet to operate. Also, it seems as if the outdoor sensor is not accurate as compared to an old hanging thermometer and Apple Weather. I’ve got this on my desk but I am considering sending it back.

Looked all over the back and sides of the display for the plug receptacle to the AC adapter. Absolutely couldn't find it. Opened up the battery compartment and its in there hidden at the bottom. Which makes it so you CAN NOT close the battery compartment if you choose to use the AC adapter to power the device. This is the weirdest design I've ever seen. Since I need it to be on the kitchen window sill. I'm afraid that possible moisture will quickly destroy the device. I returned it. It's too bad because it seems like a good device if not for the major design flaw.

The indoor / outdoor temperature and humidity readings, and barometric pressure can be calibrated on the display to improve accuracy. Calibration can improve accuracy when sensor placement or environmental factors impact the data accuracy. 1. To access calibration mode, press AND HOLD the “UP“, “gear”, and “DOWN“ buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. 2. To adjust the currently selected (flashing) item, press and release the “UP“ or “DOWN“ buttons to calibrate the data value higher or lower from the actual reading. 3. To save your adjustments, press and release the “gear” button to adjust the next preference. The “wrench” icon will remain illuminated next to calibrated values. The preference set order is as follows: OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE OUTDOOR HUMIDITY INDOOR TEMPERATURE INDOOR HUMIDITY BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (must be set to MANUAL mode to calibrate)* *To change from AUTO to MANUAL pressure mode and vice versa, press AND HOLD the “gear” button for 10 seconds. The “wrench” icon will appear next to the barometric pressure to indicate that MANUAL mode has been activated. Press and HOLD the “gear” button for 10 seconds to return to AUTO mode. After 20 seconds of inactivity, the display will save the adjustments and exit calibration mode. Note: Calibrations will be erased if the display is reset or if batteries are removed and the power adapter is unplugged. I put it on the shelf and I had to keep tipping it. The display was very light unless I tipped it downward, and if I tipped it too much so that it was readable, it would tip over might have been OK if it was mounted on the wall. Exactly at Eye level, but we just didn’t have a place to put it where we could see it from everywhere not happy
