This drive hasn't let me down so far. I have used in a few different applications so far; even though it says it is for PS5, it works like any other nvme drive in laptops, external drives, etc.. I used it initially in a laptop where it was fast and effective and best of all huge storage! Later when I switched laptops, I put it in a ssd enclosure and it has been solid all across the board to transfer video files FAST!.

My experience might be different for some but it was over heating my ps5 and was giving it the blue flashing light of death. Best buy also gave me a hard time giving me a return and my refund.

Hello Sarah,
Thank you for your reply. The best way to ensure your SSD works on your PS5 is to update your gaming console to the newest firmware. Sony will periodically add updates and will prevent your PS5 from running smoothly. After updating your firmware on your system, you may then install the SSD into the compartment. Please install the heatsink and make sure your console is in a well ventilated area. Regular cleaning and maintenance of your PS5 fans will ensure your system runs cool when operating. We hope to serve you again for all your future gaming and computing needs. Thank you!

I believe the drive is defective. While sequential 1M read/writes seem to be inline the sequential 128K writes are below a mechanical hard drive. These average at 1-2Mbs, when I first tried the data transfer I thought the connection was bad but I have tested this drive in three systems, direct to MB, now and various external connections and the performance remains abismal. To add fuel to the fire the drive fails the adata disk check but smart data show that it is perfect health.

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on your question, please make sure you are using the GPT table when initializing your drive. MBR (Master boot record) will not be able to support a file system over 2TB. With that being said, please make sure to check your motherboard's manual as it may not support an SSD over 2TB. If you believe the SSD to be defective, please submit an RMA request with us online at ADATA.com. Please create an account and click on submit an RMA request. The process only takes a couple of minutes. Additional instructions will be sent to your email after you have submitted an RMA request. Thank you!
-Sincerely , The ADATA/XPG Team

What a great item to have in your PS5. The price I feel is very expensive.
