It was a disastrous experience. The Photoshop Elements which I purchased put Malware on my new MacBook Pro. It took a 3 hour call to AppleCare to have the malware removed from my computer. When the malware was erased it took Photoshop elements with it. Really ugly.

2025, the year of AI editing has come

Adobe recently released a new and improved version of the Adobe Elements collection, something they do every year. In 2025, Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements will feature an all-new 3-year license and exciting new features not seen in previous versions, including color grading and various AI graphics features.
I have been a regular user of Adobe Elements for over a decade; the latest versions I used include Adobe Photoshop Elements 2020 and Premiere Elements 2022. I generally upgrade the software every few years. While I have not yet upgraded to Adobe Lightroom CC (I am still on 6.14) for my RAW processing workflow, Adobe’s Elements line of photo and video editing software have allowed me to get more productive in media production and allowed me to do simple edits while on the road on my laptop.
These are not full-fledged software found in the Creative Cloud editions, and you would be right in that assessment. However, for the casual user who wants to post collages, remove ugly objects, use AI effects, or color-grade videos, there is no need for Creative Cloud. That said, the features and specifications of this product line are constantly evolving. Many Creative Cloud features have trickled down to the Elements line of photo and video editors over time.
The most significant change I saw in the 2025 version of Adobe Photoshop Elements (from my previous 2020 version) is that they now feature very impressive object removal, object color change, motion effects, replacing sky backgrounds, and the ability to create collages. Considering the upgrades that include AI features, background replacements, and background extensions, this version is the best I have seen. Seriously, there have been so many changes since 2020, and it's hard even to keep up. I have used Photoshop CC occasionally on my friend's computer and it is powerful, but for what I use it for, Adobe Photoshop Elements works fine. As usual, you can use the ‘quick’ guided’ and ‘advanced’ or ‘expert’ menus to edit photographs quickly. The RAW processing is much better than before, and it has updates to all the latest cameras for the latest Adobe Camera RAW.
The feature upgrades for Adobe Premiere Elements in 2025 are easier to digest compared to my older 2022 version. There is a lot more leverage of AI in terms of color corrections, artistic effects, AI graphics, and automatic highlight reels. Video editing features are still limited compared to other video editors, but the software is geared towards the casual user. I liked there are now AI highlight reels and AI video collages - features that make video editing a lot more fun. If you plan on using Adobe Premiere Elements to edit your next viral hit video, there is plenty here to help you create that next masterpiece. You have text styling tools, color grading, audio effects, Adobe title templates, and more.
Adobe has a new feature with this 2025 version of Adobe Elements, which includes mobile and web-based editing. These features are currently in beta testing, and I cannot access them readily. The new features look very compelling and feature on-the-go editing, among others. The Elements organizer can now geo-code, sort by faces, and share and edit via mobile app, a feature I very much look forward to using in the future. There is so much potential here. There is a lesser need for a Creative Cloud subscription. Still, given that Adobe has moved from a perpetual license to a 3-year license on this new version of Elements 2025, and most users upgrade after 2-3 years, I can see this being a continuing point of frustration for some users who like to own the software. One cannot deny that Adobe has not improved the software; clearly, in the last 5 years they have introduced features that were once on Creative Cloud that have now trickled down to Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, and they will continue to improve, it is just that this version of the software will stay in 2025 and not get feature upgrades, and one would need to buy the next iteration to get the latest features.
Overall, I feel that the latest Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 2025 version is well worth an upgrade If you haven't upgraded in a few years. This software is worth every penny. If you are just starting and this is a first-time purchase, and if you have never owned this software, I will highly recommend this software. There is plenty here that will help you grow your hobby. I highly suggest that you spend some quality time on the tutorials on Adobe’s website. As a semi-seasoned user, I even had to view the tutorials to figure out how certain features worked.

Ideal Software for Social Media Content

Whether people like it or not, social media is such a big part of life today. Between all the different platforms, people try to make content better and better. There are many ways to do this. Some use apps on phones. Some use computer programs. I had always heard about Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements, but I have never really used them. After trying this software package out, I truly see what all the fuss is about.
First off, the software is downloadable. All you really must do is go to the site and put in the redeem code, and the software downloads itself. The effort on your part is very minimal. It will even put two icons on your desktop for easy start up. Click on the icon, and you are on your way.
As I said, I had never really used Photoshop or Premiere Elements before. I am comfortable getting around computers and software though. So, for most newcomers to this software package, I believe the learning curve will be quick to get through. The software is very intuitive. Part of the fun is just experimenting with the different capabilities anyway. Besides, the software has many step-by-step guides to help you through the process.
The big part of this software is just the amazing bit of power that comes with it. Probably the feature I love most about it is the ability to remove objects/people from pictures. We have all have the occasional phot bomber that has ruined pictures or at least made them less appealing. With Photoshop and Premiere Elements, you can easily remove them from the picture. The process is easy, and it looks great when you are done. Another nice feature is being able to change the color of pretty much anything in the picture. Ever wonder how a shirt or a dress would look in a different color? Now you can see it. And it even keeps the subtle shadowing and texture effects to make it look like it was always that color. It doesn’t look fake.
Another nice feature with this software is you can blend images together to form a new image. I always was curious how you could take individual photos of players and make a team photo. With this software, you have the power to do it. You can place certain objects in front of or behind others to give the new image a realistic look and feel.
Creating videos is also amazing with this. You can use stock templates from Adobe to help you in your creative process or just make a video the way you like. This software is a powerful tool for making social media content. You can add text to videos, enhance the color in them, and do color correction. This can make an eye-catching difference to your content.
In the end, I am so happy with the Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements software. I can use it either on Mac or Windows, but it makes amazing content. It has become my go-to editing software for Instagram and Facebook posts. I highly recommend this software for anyone looking to add style and get the most out of their photos and videos.

I am writing this review for the Adobe Photoshop Elements 25 And Premier Elements 2025
My first experience with Adobe Photoshop was with Photoshop 3, back in the mid-90s. Since then I have been a loyal fan of Adobe, not only with the Photoshop line, but also their other products. A few years ago I decided to lay aside photo editing to pursue other interests. However, I have recently decided to get back into it, and so I was excited about the opportunity to try out Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 and Premier Elements 2025.
The software is available as a download, and from what I have seen, it is available not only from Adobe, but other online retailers as well. The download process was super quick and super easy, as was the installation process. The one question that kept running through my mind was whether it would be possible to install the software on both my laptop and desktop computers. Thankfully the answer is yes, as long as I have the software key, and I don’t have the software open simultaneously on both computers. From what I understand, you are not limited to only two devices, but I’m not sure what the limitations are. But at least you can work on your projects from different locations rather than being bound by having to do everything from only one computer.
After downloading, installation was absolutely unremarkable…as typical as it gets, so nothing much to say about that particular subject. And once the software is installed, it’s time to start putting your creativity to work.
When you open the program, you are taken to your dashboard. From here you will see the Adobe software you have installed, which with this bundle will be: Organizer, Photo Editor, and Video Editor. You will also see across the top of the dashboard learning suggestions designed to help get you on your way. For example, if you want to learn more about how to remove unwanted objects from a photograph, you hover your mouse above that option, it opens up a box, and then you simply follow the instructions from there.
The Organizer helps you to find your photos on your computer. You can choose which individual photos you want, or you can even choose entire folders. Once you have imported your photos, you have the option to rate your photos and videos from one star up to five stars. This comes in handy for when you want to choose photos or videos for a specific project without the hassle of having to sort through all of them again. There are so many things the Organizer can do, and you will find it is a tool you use all the time. You have the ability to assign location tags, date tags, or even add your own tags. It lets you choose the option to show only those photos with people, by location, and even by date. In short, the Organizer does exactly what it is supposed to do…keep your photo and video editing unbelievably organized.
On the surface, both Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements appear to be fairly limited in their abilities to create professional looking photos and videos. But as you begin to explore each app you find they give you the ability to utilize a very wide range of tools to do just about anything you can dream up, tools ranging from templates to create a quick photo or video to tools allowing detailed color corrections, restoring old photos, and tons more options.
If you want a photo editor or video editor that is easy to use, filled with options to do everything from changing backgrounds, removing objects, adding text, or whatever else you can imagine, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements is the app for you. Like I said, it is easy to use, there are step by step instructions, you can keep your media super organized, and you can easily send your creations to your social media pages.

Great for Photo and Video Editing And So Much More

This is a great program for beginners and amateurs, because it is so easy to learn to fix/adjust your photos and videos and it does so much more. As a semi-professional on a tight budget and being newer to the detail editing, this is absolutely perfect. You are limited to a 3 year license, when you purchase this product. With AI just really at its beginning stage, I believe anyone would probably want to upgrade to a newer version once your license expires anyway.
If you are new to Photoshop, there are guided edits to help you learn and work on your projects. This is great for beginners, giving them step-by-step instructions on fixing/adjusting their photos and videos. You get a number of walkthrough options to help you learn how to use this program and edit your photos and videos to look professional. You can make slideshows, photo collages, print photos, make a photo book and even have your photos on greeting cards.
I had a blurry picture that I wanted to bring more into focus and Photoshop helped me do that. If you are not comfortable changing the photos yourself, you can use the “guided” tab.
If you are trying to take old photos that you scanned and make them look better, this can definitely help. I had some really old photos that had little black dots from dirt on them when I scanned them. With time and patience it helped me remove all of the marks and made the photo look 100% much better.
With AI enhancements you can remove objects from photos completely or even replace that item with something else, so no more photo bombing. You are also able to correct colors and enhance your photos to make them just the way you would like. You don’t like that color shirt in a photo, no problem, change it!
Of course there are also the usual things you can do such as crop, resize, brighten and darken photos. You are even able to correct the skin tone, so take off that sunburn you got on vacation and turn it into a good tan and nobody would know the difference. If you have a great picture of your dog inside, but would love to have it look like he is outside, you can combine photos and do that. Just let your imagination run wild.
When it comes to videos, there are tools with this product included for you to adjust the white balance to enhance clouds, snow, etc. There is also a new color correction for getting colors more precise to enhance your videos.
I really love Photoshop Elements and Premiere. There is so much you can do to enhance your photo and video content. You will be looking like a professional in no time.

Basic tools for small libraries

I'm not a professional photographer but I know the basics and I have a collection of family pictures that date from the beginnings of digital photography. I use a MacBook Pro (M series) and I must not be the target audience for this. To me it's practically unusable.
What I got with this product is a Three year license to use Elements 2025, with both the photo and video editor. After three years it should stop working unless renewed.
I checked with a photographer and confirmed that this is in no way related to the professional product line, it’s a separate product developed by a separate division.
There are three components to this: the organizer, photo editor and video editor.
The organizer I think it's the most lacking of the products: I have a library of about 61K pictures including some videos, all organized in Apple Photos. When first opening the Organizer, it's evident that it's not a modern macOS application: While it is an Apple Silicon application, it feels like it was made decades ago. It was only able to catalog 31K images after two days, as it becomes progressively slower with each image, and most of them are thumbnails created by Photos, so it doesn't really work with Apple Photos. To switch to this product one would have to export all the photos to a separate folder and start again.
After two days of waiting I was able to select some pictures to work with the Photoshop Elements Editor. It has some interesting filters but feels very basic and its AI capabilities seem primitive. For example, trying to remove a person from a landscape just smudges incoherent pieces of the surrounding section of the picture, with a blob resembling some landscape where the person was. I was perhaps expecting too much. Other filters like adjusting colors work fine but it's also available on the native applications so not much new. The filters to retouch old scanned pictures works.
Premiere is the video editing tool. This is also geared towards beginners. I didn't find it any more capable than iMovie, and just more basic, which can be a good thing for quick work.
Overall I cannot recommend this to any macOS user, although I see the value in a Windows user with a moderate library, since there are not a lot of tools provided in Windows and photos are simply organized in folders, which is where Adobe Elements works best.

The Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 2025 are a full-package photo and video editing digital software downloads. You can import photos and videos into the Elements organizer and create all kinds of great memories for yourself and your family. Personally, I take a lot of road trips and like taking photos and videos of landscapes along the way. With photoshop elements I can edit out anything I do not want in the pictures including unwanted objects haze and spots that may be on my windshield or window. I can use auto smart fix for simplified enhancing or I can choose from a vast array of enhancements for landscapes or portraits of people. It really does feel like I can do just about anything to get my photos just the way I want them no matter what type of photo it is. From editing backgrounds, eyes, colors, brightness and even objects the possibilities are all there you can also create awesome collages and slideshows.. Then when it comes to editing videos like the ones where I am riding in a vehicle. I love how I can use the anti-shake to smooth out the video and it works really well. It is crazy all of the different things you can do in premiere elements to edit and create your video masterpieces. You edit out unwanted sounds, add your favorite or appropriate music to your video for the occasion. You can even change out the whole background of your video and replace it if you want to. You can create short clips from certain parts of the video add other stuff into your video including photos. This software package is very impressive and if you are some one that is interested in getting started in video and photo editing and media creation in general this package is a great place to start. There is no possible way for me to go over all of the features of these products. These software programs are comprehensive and really they are the type of thing that you really need to spend some time with. The more you use them the better you get and it is rewarding because you get to learn new things while being creative. The real reward though is getting good at it and creating lasting memories and sharing your creations with family and friends. They will appreciate your creations and ask for copies when they are impressed and want to be able to watch at home. Most people know that adobe stands for quality and I feel like this package is very reasonably priced for all that you get and it is for 3 years. I wish it was a one time payment but three years from now you may want the latest versions anyway the way technology is progressing.

I was very excited to use the new Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 & Premiere Elements 2025. We love making our own Christmas cards every year, so Adobe applications are critical to having the tools we need to edit the photo or photos we choose to use for our Christmas card. We usually do funny Christmas cards, so it requires more tools than just basic editing to improve a family photo or add our theming for the year. We get super creative. My son also uses Adobe Premiere more heavily for video editing on the videos he creates for his YouTube channel.
Overall, I was super excited at the thought of using a 3-year license instead of the monthly subscription I have been using. We normally use the monthly subscription for Adobe Photoshop 2024 & Premiere Pro 2024. We use it annually for the Christmas card, but my son uses it frequently for his video editing. I was surprised that the Elements version varied so much from the versions we usually use. My son was disappointed in the loss of key features that he uses from the Premiere Pro version today. Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 did offer a different version than our current subscription however it was not as impactful for photo editing as the differences in options we saw for video editing in comparison to Premiere Pro 2024.
Setup was easy. We were able to quickly use the code to download the software and connect it with our existing Adobe account. I still love the option of purchasing a 3-year-license, but I need to invest more time in thoroughly understanding the difference between our current monthly subscriptions and the annual licensing options that are available to ensure the product will better meet our needs. We may further explore using a 3-year-license for the pro version instead of using our monthly subscription.
This software does provide the basic tools you need for photo and video editing. There is a great AI component and automation component that makes some things easier. The step-by-step guided edits are also helpful with navigating the tool if you are not yet familiar with it. If you do more complex editing or have already been using other versions, I encourage you to keep your needs in mind when considering downgrading to the Elements program. They are great programs, but their effectiveness will really depend on your existing familiarity with other Adobe tools and how in-depth you will be using the products.
This is a great introductory product, and I would recommend this for people that are looking for this level of tools. If you need more complex tools I suggest exploring some of Adobe's more complex software. You may want to even consider signing up for a monthly subscription to try out the product to best weigh the options before committing to the cost of a 3 year license.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop products for the last 10 years. I initially purchased these products when I started to have kids and really wanted to make sure that my pictures turned out well. It has been 4 years since my last Photoshop purchase and boy have there been some improvements. To begin with, the product installation is very simply. I installed both products on my Windows computer and it took 5 minutes for both products to be accessible on my desktop. No problems with the installation at all! I also love that fact that these products come with a 3 year subscription. For me, that is perfect, because 3 years will be the perfect time to upgrade this software. Once I got started, I automatically went to the feature that allows you to see updates since my last version in 2020. The first feature that I liked and began to utilize right away was to organize my media with the Elements Organizer. With this I am able to organize using albums, places, events and people. Since I had plenty of photos that I needed to work on since the last update in 2020, I used the Auto Curate which allows me to find my best photos to work on. Since I was working with a ton of photos I really like the feature that allows you to brighten, add color, enhance clarity or add effects to multiple photos simultaneously. With the new upgrades I can also easily remove unwanted objects, add depth with AI, change the color of any object and easily combine images. A couple of other features that are really handy are fixing tilted photos, restoring old photos and removing haze from pictures. If you are a little hesitant to try any of these features, the Adobe home page walks you through many of these features. I also had plenty of video that I wanted to work through with this product. I was able to add the perfect soundtrack to some of my movies. I love how I can see video effects in real time. There is also a Guided edit feature that showed me how to remove unwanted frames from a clip. I use the Guided edits to learn advanced movie making techniques with built-in video tutorials.
Overall, I am highly impressed with Photoshop and Premiere Elements. It was easy to download and very user friendly. If you are a novice, I love that it guides you through many of these features. If you enjoy manipulating and creating new photos and videos, you can't go wrong with these products.

The Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 & Premier Elements 2025 is a very useful tool for your creations. The software makes it simple to add your project and start editing. It does take a bit to get used to it, however once you have it done it will be much simpler to use. The main thing is to make sure your system is compatible but other than that it is a simple download, install and get to explore. The features that is has make video editing a breeze. You are able to add title and overlays to your videos. The photoshop is very similar to other years and makes photo editing simple and straight to the point. After downloading i do have to say I had a bit of an issue trying to figure out where to go. That would be my only con for this product that the layout could be more simple and easier to figure out. The home screen looks like it has a bunch of adds but it is useful information but can be confused with the actual software you are trying to find. Other than that, the rest is positive notes and would highly recommend to anyone that likes to edit their videos and photos.

Okay as someone who in their late 60's as I am this is a program that is not for the faint at heart if you have kept up with Adobe Photoshop over the year then yes I recommend it 100% the reason why I gave it 4 star and not 5 is the fact that I haven't kept up with it at all. I used to use this program way back in the late 90's early 2000's almost everyday but I quit using it when I lost a lot of things to Katrina when it hit and I moved to where I live now I have always loved doctoring up photos and making Avitars with photoshop for people in the old type of chat rooms but those days are long gone now, it's mimes and this program from what I know and have read up on is one of the best ones out there. As I said if you have kept up with it through the years it's not a hard program but for those who are just starting out or trying to get back to using it like I am it's a learning process and by that I mean that you will have to find out where things are also you might want to go the the Adobe website to see if there's a manual that you can download and read which is helpful as this is something huge with the AI side of it to learn.
Other than it being a new edition of Photoshop with the AI which is supposed to help make it easier it's still a leaning process and worth it. The only Con that I did find with it is that my 60+ year old brain is going to get a work out with it which will be fun and will help keep it active. Pros are once you learn how to use it you can do a lot of things with it. I highly recommend it to everyone including those who have kept up with everything going on

I wanted to try this software because I need to do more to make my social media posts more eye catching. I'm a prolific reader and I like to review the books that I read and post about them. I'm nearly 60 and I'm not technically inept but it hasn't ever been something that I have done a lot with.
I want to make up collages of book covers and other items relative to the story to make a post of. I have tried Canva but I thought these Adobe products might be worth a try. Photoshop Elements works with photos and Premier Elements works with videos.
I also have thousands of genealogy pictures that I have been scanning in that need to be organized and some need retouching.
I got the software downloaded. It was a little confusing to set up but I think that I have the hang of it now. The software works with Mac and Windows and comes with a Beta version for my mobile device. That come in super handy. It seems as if I can share pictures between my laptop or tablet via a share option or by using the cloud.
I was able to quickly download all of my genealogy pictures. Currently, it is analyzing faces. I'm not exactly sure what this means.
When playing around the first day I downloaded the software, I found examples to use to make collages for my social media posts. So far, I'm finding it a little confusing but I think that this is more of a user issue than a software problem. I'm willing to keep working at it though. I don't feel like it has beaten me yet.

Adobe’s Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements 2025 brings the fun use of Artificial Intelligence to every day users.
As someone who enjoys tweaking photos and videos, adobe’s lighter version of photo and video editing really gives me an approachable feeling of being control over my editing. The Artificial Intelligence is learning over time to how automatically enhance your photos colors and subject and even create completely new backgrounds with a tap of a button. The results are always fantastic.
The mobile version is still in a beta program but I imagine how incredible this entire package will be as soon as the mobile app launches. It will make editing your cell phone photos so much easier.
Overall, it’s a fun subscription to have, you get access to the full power of adobe photoshop and premiere, without all the complicated settings in the way. Creativity shouldn’t be hard to accomplish and adobe has done a great job and putting a world class photo and video editor into more hands.

3-year limit & Premiere has no HEVC or AV1 support

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
GOOD
- Retains the most used functions and brushes of the full Photoshop
- Much lower price than normal Photoshop and Premiere
- Access to Adobe's stock photo library
- New features and automatic effects over older Elements for common image manipulation
BAD
- Three-year license
- Premiere is very lacking in support for current video formats and output
TLDR
Adobe has turned their popular Elements package into a forced three-year pre-paid subscription, which is a big disappointment to the hobbyist image/video user. While the Photoshop side has received good updates, Premiere still has no output support for H.265/HEVC or AV1. If you have an older but recent version of Elements, there's likely no reason to upgrade to this and force yourself into a limited time license.
DETAILS
The "Elements" version of Adobe's software has been a great option for people who want basic photo and video editing software, but didn't want to pay Adobe's steep subscriptions costs for their other software.
There's really not much to say on the Photoshop side except, "It's Photoshop." Yes, it's the Elements version, meaning it's slightly stripped down from the full version, but it still has enough features and functions for 95% of what normal people want to do when touching up their family photos, creating memes, or making photo collages. The 2025 version has a few new automated features and tricks, like color changing brushes Adobe stock photos, which are good for people who don't know how to use the advanced options for the brushes, filters, and tools.
However, the Premiere side is a big let down. Like Photoshop, you have some new tools for color grading and access to some stock video and templates, but most of it is the same it's been for years. This means all the same disappointments as before regarding support for current video formats and output settings. While Premiere can use H.265/HEVC for input and a project asset, it still can't export a video using the codec. It has no support for AV1 at all, either input or output. The output encoder settings still don't support any kind of constant quality setting; instead you have to mess around with the VBR bandwidth settings. Also, you can't import Matroska (MKV) files even though the software says you should be able to ( perhaps it's a bug that will get fixed later ).
If Adobe wants to force all their users into the software-as-a-service environment, even the casual hobbyists, then I would expect to see serious improvements to warrant the idea of continually paying to use the software. Right now, the limitations with Premiere make this a big no for me.

Adobe Misses the Mark

Adobe has bundled Adobe Premier elements and Photoshop Elements into one Convientent bundle and a lower price than purchasing each seperatly. The bundle with Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements is $149.99 with a three year licence. I guess this is ok as I tend to get a new version every 2 to 3 years as new features get added.
Adobe's Premiere Elements video editor has a new interface more like Premiere Pro in creative cloud. Photoshop elements has maintined the style of the older versions. With Premiere elements They have left a stripped down version of the previous edition as a front end but removed a lot of good features from the basic and guided areas. I don’t feel this is good for beginning video editors. For modaerately advanced non pro users the best way to use the programs is in the advanced mode. Photoshop elements has some great quick edits and guided elements even adding some AI features but it is very confusing as some features are only avalible in the advanced mode and work differently from the tools in the quided edit tab. Both programs seem to run much slower than other compeating products even though they are a little faster than previous versions.
With Photoshop elements in particular the free version of Lightroom is much less confusing and more powerful for improving the look and quality of your photos quickly. The UI is very disjointed with many different ways to get to the same tools . All the modes need to be scrapped and combined into one program, the launcher just add unnneded and confusing options in my opinion. Photoshop has some fun edits but I really wont use these as a serious home photo enthusiast These are more suited as a social media add on. In addition Photoshop elements does not import RAW files unless you download and intall a Free Adobe Camra Raw add on and even then it does not allow full editing of the Raw files. To Adobes credit the organizer program will prompt you to download and install the add on but why is it not installed in the first place.
Speaking of add ins Adobe limits the preinstalled guided edits but does allow downloading more to limit the size of the initial download. The guided edit mode is now much less beginner friendly, the actions no longer overlay the video being edited, you only get a video of how to do the action you want to complete now. This is a big step backwards.
The programs take forever to install and the time to get premiere or photoshop express to open is excruciating long. I have a well equipped windows 11 machine with 32gb memory and a Nvidia 3080 Ti with 12 gb vram that runs every other third party Video and Photoediting tools with no delay so Adobes offerings with elements are not my go to at this time. The acutual tools are pretty good but it is so slow that there are only very specific use cases for me. I will only use the Advanced mode as it makes the most sense. The guided mode has been cut back too much, I did like it better in the 2020 and 2021 versions.
The software runs on Microsoft Windows 10 (version 22H2, 64-bit) or 11 (version 23H2 or later) and macOS 13 or later. memory you need at least 8GB of RAM,16GB for 1080p or 4k media A large fast hard drive is best as space is needed for scratch files and media storage at least 10GB of free hard drive space is reccomended. You need at least a 6th Generation Intel or AMD processor with SSE4.1 and AVX support, Windows your CPU needs to support SSE2
A 1,280-by-800 resolution monitor is the absolute minimum but I suggest a 4k monitor if you are serious about getting good results.
If you work at high resolutions with photos or 4k video a powerful GPU really helps. As low as 4gb of VRAM is supported but a dedicated GPU from Nvidia with RTX or AMD with 12 to 24 gb is better for complex editing and will speed encoding and redering, DirectX 12 support is required for Windows users.
I used Premiere elements to help me restore captured 8mm film, this type of media benefits from the auto correction of color that premiere offers, the cropping tool works well as well. The cool optical flow mode of Shake reduction (ie Stabilization) uses AI to synthesize edges during stabilization. Even though I knew this was a feature it took me a while to find it as Adobe does not link it to the word stabilize from the search to the tool that stabilizes video for an unknown reason instead having to search for Shake.
The home screen is quick to open but Premiere Elements is slow to start up and during standard video editing procedures. When it comes to the final rendering of your video editing project, is faster than previous programs but not as fast as Premiere pro or Davinci resolve. If you have older Elements versions you will notice it is faster.
During my testing , the program crashed unexpectedly during Stabilization of a large 4k H264 MP4 video file and the Highlight Reels feature would not complete on the same file. The Stabilize tool with the Synthesize edges is very slow , I was finally able to get it to run but aborted the stabilization due to the expected compleation time of about 29 hours for 4k media 18 gb file.
I have to say I find the entire advanced interface poorly designed and very confusing. Adobe should consolidate all the tools and pannels togther on the left and put many more guided edits in the program in an toggled overly fasion or at the very least add links to full video explanations on how to complete more complicated edits. I am still unable to figure out how to use masking and tracking even though I use it in Davinci Resolve with no problem. I feel this program is crippled by its poor UI not it’s tools and Adobe has some serious work to do to bring it up to date. Right now it feels like a jumble of ok tools thrown together in a difficult to use disorganized way. The program is slower than competitors and crashes occasionally with some of the tools. This should have been fixed during beta testing.
I used Photoshop elements to clean up some 4k photos from my phone. You can add text, replace colors, change the depth of focus and remove unwanted objects the tools worked well enough for me to continue using them. Again, the Advanced interface is the fastest way to use this program. Use the guided edits as training then use the advanced mode after that. The guided interface is clunky and not efficient to use even though it will get the job done.
The Organizer works sort of, I have a lot of media files, some appeared right away, some have still not appeared. I left the organizer running for 2 days and it fillaly stopped responding. I do have files on 3 separate NAS boxes, 4 drives with a mix of SSD and standard hardisks. The built in windows Photos app found and displays all the photos with ease. search by People, Places, Dates, Keywords, Albums, Folders, Media Types, and Star Ratings, and automatic AI-generated Smart Tags. You can combine search types, looking up, for example, pictures of Joe Smith taken in New York City in September. Automatic object tagging and people tagging work with video content as well. I got it to work with one drive but not all my media drives, it may be great but I have not been able to get the organizer to complete indexing all the files, maybe it will complete over the next week??
After using the programs, you can get some seblence of functionality and use the tools fo improve your photos or videos but I woud not recommend this suite at all. You can no longer master DVD or Blu-ray disks right from the program and instead have to use 3rd party software. Premiere elements is Ok if you stick to the Advanced interface but then you should just spring for Premiere Pro for more capabilities and better performance. In my opinion the Free version of Davinci resolve is more powerful and, in my hands, easier to understand and use. If you want a more coherent interface with better affects you will have to pay for Premiere Pro or Davinci Resolve Studio. Adobe does say that more features will roll out over time with no mention what they will be, over the three-year licence period they could add quite a bit, pretty please Adobe.
I do like the quick mode for simple edits you can join video clips, as well as add titles, transitions, image corrections, soundtracks, and effects. You get a timeline with two video tracks and one Audio track. You can alter the speed , cut up your clips and add text. You can add music, from the included library. You are able to remove exsisting audio from clips. You can change the Aspect ratios and choose the point of focus for each clip with Auto Reframe for social media. These fast edits are easy in this mode.
Another bonus is the Elements mobile app beta for photos and video. It has several tools to edit your media, you also get 2gb cloud storage to use as you wish from Adobe. You can create slidshows with a choice of soundtracks from photos or videos or a collage from selected photos. A QR code can be generated for sharing your completed projects.
In summary there are some good tools in the Adobe Premiere and Photoshop bundle. Is it worth upgrading, I would say no, keep the older version and use other free tools Adobe and others offer. If you want advanced tools then there are Adobe and other third party paid options that are much better.

What I thought I was getting was a pared-down version of Photoshop, maybe a little less unwieldy and easier to learn. What I got instead was a simple package of photo editing gimmicks with no ability to fine tune edits or tweak photos to improve them. I honestly get more out of the built-in editing tools on my computer than I do out of this overpriced product. I would be willing to bet you could do most of what's available here with free phone apps, though maybe not all bundled in one place. To offset the bare-bones nature of the product, Adobe decided to make extremely difficult to download. You can't just click on the redemption code and download it. When you enter the redemption code, you are instead transferred to page prompting you to create an account. Once you create the account, the download does not start. You are not taken to a download page. In fact, you can't even find the product on their website. Clicking on the redemption code again will just take you to page telling you that the code has already been redeemed. Instead, you have to search for the product name, then scroll down through half a dozen results before you finally get to the link to the download page. And of course, the code that includes a license for both products does not lead to a download of the bundled products. You have to search for them separately, download, and install them separately. Then you get two program icons and two programs that both open the same application with the bundled product. Don't waste your money or your time on this.
