Every Year Adobe keeps offering an affordable software to edit your home Video's to give them a professional look. This year they did it again buy offering an easy to use interface to merge all of your clips and audio to one video. There is features to reduce the noise, add effects and export the video's for YouTube, Facebook, Iphone, TV, DVD, etc. It is nice to have some of the tools professionals use for $100. I was not that impressed with the 3d animations but it really depends on the use case. They did add a way to stabilize the video which helps my wobbly hands when recording. I wish that it would work with the raw video my Canon R6 can shoot on since I am not using it in a professional manner so cannot afford the adobe Premiere (Full version). I guess it is so Adobe can offer just enough to achieve what is needed for most users without stripping the pro features away from the full product. This year over previous years has just been a more refined product with more effects/transitions than the 2020 version so worth the upgrade. I have attached some screen shots of how well laid out the program is.

Adobe is known for their creative software packages. However, their main products require a monthly or annual membership that can get pricey depending on what you are looking for. For a general user that just wants to modify some phone or camcorder videos to share with family and memories, make fun clips, you have Adobe Premiere Elements. A one time purchase that you can use on any of your compatible computers so long as you log into the same Adobe account. Compared to Premiere, the Elements version is heavily stripped down, but simplified in easy to select options. It has predetermined quick edit mode, guided mode and an expert mode that lets you do your own fine tuning. For simple modifications like trimming and putting clips together, the quick mode is simply drag and drop. The guided mode gives several options that lead you step for step on how to apply the effects to your video. It is a lot easier than trying to find a video online and follow along with them. However, it requires you to perform the step exactly as it guides you and will not let you continue till that step is completed. So, for example, you may have attempted the effects on your own, but then forgot what happened after step 5. So, go back to the guide and you are required to do steps 1-4 again, applying it to your video, even if you didn’t want to do those steps, again. I personally don’t like how it is opened either. After install, you select the Adobe Premiere Elements 2021 by the Windows shortcut or menu, but it opens a panel that offers Organizer, Photo Editor and Video Editor with additional highlights from their site. After you select Video Editor is when Premiere Elements will actually open. There are a lot of effects and features that aren’t simplified through the guided videos, so like their other products, it will still take some learning to take full advantage of the product. However, even with the effects all listed out in neat little thumbnails, they are still limited in what you can modify in them. Most modifications are limited to slider bars for adjustment from the original applied effect. Some effects only apply to the video and don’t account for the audio, like any time shift. It just recommends removing audio instead of offering an option to time shift the audio or even to cut the audio from the time shift portion would be better than removing all of the audio. Some options just left me hanging the first time I attempted to use them with a never moving loading bar, but days later, maybe there was a background update, they work. Another thing is that you can’t edit any out-of-the-ordinary videos like 360 degree or 3D videos. Overall, for a simple and fairly quick way to edit and add flair to your homemade videos, this is pretty decent. There are many features that can’t be explained in a review without experiencing it for yourself. So, luckily through Adobe, you can get a 30 day free trial and see what you are getting into before you purchase it. Then you can purchase the digital key through Best Buy using any perks you may already have and enjoy it for as long as you want.

So the quick video compilation was easy to use. It can compile videos and photos fast and spit out a consolidated video really fast. Only thing was the background music has some glitches. I could not solve it. Thus the 4 instead of 5 stars. The detailed compilation is really nice. It has a audio function that allows for rendering and somehow adjusts the audio to extend to match the video or photos that you want to associate the music to. Detailed transition is pretty good and easy to use. Conversion to MP4 as pretty quick. Good overall program. I would recommend it for novice or more enthusiastic video in Editors.

This is a great tool for beginners or intermediate users. Advanced users might want to look at premiere pro though. It's been a couple months since I started editing and I'm starting to notice some of the advantages that pro would have over elements.

I was never able to get this program to work effectively on my Apple computer

Great product. However, you will need to contact Adobe support to get the activation key. The key input by the store does not work due to the product being over year old.

Premiere Elements are Adobe's 2021 is the updated suite for regular people who want to improve, edit and make great creations from our videos. Premiere Elements 2021 has some great features using Adobe Sensei AI. The AI does some incredible things including automatic object selection, object tracking and colorization. There are now 25 Guided Edits that will help you turn your Video into a masterpiece! The Elements Organizer is faster and now has automatic backup of Smart tags and folders. If you import your media into the organizer it will add smart tags and you can find items by person place or event. AI powered tagging is great for tagging specific people in videos using Adobes Sensei's face-matching capabilities. This makes it easy to find those Videos of your kids on the beach in Florida or pictures of uncle Joe you took sometime in the last 20 years for example. There are a few new features for this version. You can pick a specific person or object, or area, of your video and apply an effect that tracks throughout the video, like brightening the subject or blurring the background. Double exposures, guide you to create a video within a photo. This is great for family events. You can also apply different shapes and animation styles to any portion or your videos or use it as a transition to add some splash to liven up dull scenes. They have also added more music tracks to give that video just the right sound. There are basic tools that let you clean up and enhance video color, contrast, brightness and sharpness, Again Adobe has great guided editing tools most of us will start here then use the basic or expert mode to finish editing. The guided tools I use are the simplified noise reduction tool that can make grainy video more clear this works especially well for dark video. The animated sky replacement tool lets you add moving sky to your photos, this can replace a grey or dark boring sky or create crazy effects. With the time lapse tool you can easily turn images and videos into dynamic time-lapses or video presentations with custom music and transitions. You can use color pop to make the video black and white with a color object remaining like a scarf or a hat. You can slow down the video for slow motion effects. You can take vertical video like cell phone video and add effect to fill a full horizontal screen. You can add a bounce effect that forwards and reverses the video. In the expert mode you can do much more as you learn to use Premiere Elements. The only thing to take note of is multi-cam or 3D editing is not included you will need to purchase Adobe’s Professional tools. I had to increase my memory to 32 GB to reliably edit and render 4k footage. 8 GB minimum is recommended, 16 GB for HD. You need at least 4GB of Vram on you GPU and a SSD does not hurt either! If you have a supported GPU you can have high-quality playback of many awesome effects without rendering and faster cropping of your videos. I have included the list of supported cards below directly from the Adobe support site. Unfortunately some of the newer cards like my Nvidia RTX 2070 are not supported yet but Adobe is conducting a Beta test to add more cards. I removed 1 star for that. Adobe Photoshop is great. It is fun to use. There is a learning curve. The end results are amazing

I bought a new computer so I could edit videos. This was the video editing software I bought to go with it. It does what I want it to do in a lot of ways, but in many ways, this software is very difficult to use and frustrates me (and I teach computers for a living). The software has a tendency to crash if it doesn't like the video or if the video has a glitch in it. I end up having to use the software that came installed with the computer to edit out the glitch, just so the video can be accessible with Premiere Elements. I am not a satisfied customer at all, and would have moved on by now if not for the high price for the software.

Great all around video editing software. has lots of capability and great deal when it is on sale. Could not justify buying it at full list price.

it was okay, however when I upgraded my computer it crashed and I lost some work

Received software installation disk via curbside pickup. The box was damaged and tampered with. Ironically the box says "theft protected", but that is not true. The redemption code was previously used. Unable to use software. Best Buy unable to resolve software issue over the phone or via chat.
