Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the Aurora R11's excellent performance and impressive graphics capabilities, frequently praising its speed and visual quality. Many also appreciate the system's value for the price and the inclusion of a fast SSD. However, some users suggest improvements could be made to the cooling system to prevent overheating during intensive use, and a few mention that the case design could be optimized for better airflow.

    Nice machine, not liquid cooled...

I wanted to build, but got tired of waiting for GPUs to be available, so picked this up - most of the games I'd play are older Witcher 3, GTA, etc - so a 2070 Super is fine. Otherwise I just intend to use it for photo editing, storage, etc. Despite the pictures that are part of the product listing, and even the box it comes in showing a logo that this has liquid cooling, it doesn't. The product image as of 10/19/20 shows a liquid cooler for the CPU, GPU and heat sinks on the motherboard that are not in this product. This machine is air cooled with 2 120mm fans, one at the bottom front, one at the top. The power supply, GPU, and CPU have their own fans too. To be fair the specifications tab on the product page does say air cooled, as does one of the answered questions. I didn't see that until I got this home, so much for trusting the product images. Lesson learned. PC is snappy, gets loud, and so much plastic on it. I get the aesthetic, but really feels like a heat trap. Additionally for me, the front bottom fan was damaged on receipt. It clicks when its on. If I keep this machine, going to have to buy a new fan - and the good folks on reddit mention there are a few recommend fans that pass Dell's BIOS checks. The Corsair ML120 being one of them - but I have not tried this to confirm yet.

I’ll make this short. I have alwyss built my own computers. I never once in my life thought I would ever own a pre built. I bought this for fifteenth hundred and I’m glad I did before it sold out. As if you want the Nvidia RTX 2070 Super you are going to pay at least 1100 for one and that is used.. As far as the quality goes let me just say I’m impressed. I know Alienware is one of it not the best pre built gaming PC you can get but I still wasn’t expexting such quality. It actuality has a Gold rated PSU, one of the best M2 SSD’s you can get, quality ram and as for the GPU it is over clocking wayyyy higher then I thought it would. I didn’t think for a second it would be stable at these speeds. I will be buying another Alienware the next time I need to upgrade. I got a M29Q Monitor and coming from 60hz refresh rate to a 0.5 ms response time 170hz refresh rate monitor with GSync. It is night and day difference. I mostly play OW. I main Ana. I’ve been sleeping ulting genjis left and right, my healing went from 14k avg to 20k avg healing done, beating mercy’s healing.. Though it is not just because I am able to aim better I just am much more engaged in the game. Its crazy but I have never felt so linked “at one with the game” or whatever lol. Also not going to lie I really like the look of it. The RGB is great and it’s not over the top, it doesn’t have a silly window. I never understood the whole window thing. I mean yeah if you want to watch the lights flash on your video card, ok.. though, that’s not smart you should be paying attention to what is going on in game. Not watching random lights flash through a window..

My laptop was having a hard time running the simplest of games, where I would put everything on the lowest setting possible, and was still having a hard time. Bought this system, and everything runs beautifully! All my games, from Among Us, Phasmophobia, Ark, World of Warcraft, etc, I can set on Epic settings, and the system runs smoothly, and renders all the details where I only was able to see almost pixilated objects. The boot up is nearly instantaneous, and downloads are barely a queue anymore! I always wanted an Alienware system, and just seeing the blue glow of lights through the emblem is awesome! BEST PURCHASE EVER!!!

The Alienware command center works well. The thermal performance is great. Also, be aware that the last Nvidia update 457. makes GPU run at 1605 MHz all the time. 451 works well. 300Mhz Idle.

The Alienware desktop looks and runs great, but whenever i started to install a game an error message stated there was not enough storage. The computer could not recognise the 1 terabyte drive that was installed. I called customer support. “Goodluck with that after an hour no help”. I looked on the side of the computer where the drive is located. It was unpluged when attempting to plug it in. I noticed the connecter was broke. Thankfully there is another connection incase you want to expand the amout of drives in the computer. Everything turned out ok except for the fact there is a broken connector inside my 2,000$ machine. This could have been easily avoided if the quality control checked the computers before shipping them out. Furthermore after about an hour of gaming, the graphics card will overheat causing a game such as warzone to glitch. A lower graphics setting has to be applied to run properly.

      Hello Franco,

Rest assured, your system does in fact utilize two separate drives. The operating system is installed on your SSD for increased performance and responsiveness. By default, all data and applications are saved on that drive as a result. You can still store data on your 1TB HDD manually by utilizing the Windows Explorer. If you wish, you can also set data to be saved on the 1TB HDD automatically via Windows Settings.

      Best Regards,
      Anthony P.

I got this as a gift for someone who had their gaming desktop destroyed years ago and had been wanting a new one for quite some time. I’d always have known about Alienware and that they were supposed to be the best gaming desktop PCs around, with the exception of building your own. I was going to build him a customized pc and was doing the research looking at the different components and GPU specs trying to figure out what would suit his needs while keeping the overall cost to a minimum. I was looking at spending a good $2500 just for the motherboard, CPU, GPU, and memory. That wasn’t including the PSU, the case, the drive storage, sound card, WiFi/bt card, fans, etc. Then found that the GPU cards were very difficult to find in stock anywhere, hence the reason it was the single most expensive piece of hardware i was finding. Even for a lower entry level GPU card that might have met his needs was still gonna run me $500-600 if I could find one. And I’m not talking about the latest and greatest Nvidia 3000 series cards. Those were going for so much more! Then Best Buy had a sale going for the Alienware. I figured, maybe it was time to take a look at them and see if it would be worth it. Surprisingly, it was. Granted, Alienware/Dell had JUST come out with a new model, the R12, so there’s the reason for the sale. It was fine by me! For $1600, I think I got a very good deal for last years model. The only thing I would’ve wished it came with was the liquid cooling system. That’s it. The Nvidia 2070 Super runs perfectly. It’s got enough power to run the games he was wanting to play, and in full graphics modes. He absolutely loves his gaming rig. I read many reviews on Best Buy that ran the whole gambit of crashes, being broken or not working correctly. Having issues of one kind or another. But on the Net, the reviews were also mixed. So far, it has had no issues at all. The set up was simple and straight forward out of the box. It was fun playing around with it, for me, learning all the ends and out of all the components and settings and stuff figuring out the lights and what’s the best settings to get the best performance and everything. I had to learn first so that I could teach him as he is autistic and doesn’t pick things up very quickly. New stuff also intimates him to the point it scares him so he won’t try. Once I got him comfortable enough with the rig, he’s been happy as a lark. I have to say, the little I’ve gotten to okay with it, I’m pretty impressed myself with it. He doesn’t change the settings any, which is fine. But it’ll play all his games without breaking a sweat, which was the goal. I can’t be happier with this Alienware system.

I would give this PC 5 stars, but the computer had no video when it first arrived. Had to work with a Dell tech for almost 2 hours to determine that the video card was bad. The cards are back-ordered, so I won't get one until the end of March. Fortunately, I figured out the next day that one of the video card ports does work. (Just had to use a Display Port cable instead of an HDMI cable.) This computer is phenomenally fast and, with the solid state drive, boots up almost immediately. It's also completely silent, even though it has several fans running. Can't hear them at all. It's also a great looking machine. Even my wife thinks it looks cool. If it weren't for the video card glitch, I would give it five stars.

I was in a rough spot when I purchased this... COVID was at its peak, miners were buying up all the graphics cards and were outrageously priced and my MacBook Pro would not keep up with my day trading needs. I needed a decent gaming PC with a good graphics card to keep up with trading. So I bought this PC with little research and a need for a PC the same day. Overall, I'm really happy with this setup. The NVME card was a step up from my Mack book pro that also has one, the graphics card easily connects and displays my (3) 4K monitors and my 1080p TV. The PC is screaming fast for my needs, boot up time is nearly non-existent and is great for playing Xbox games. Im not a hardcore gamer but it did all of that too along with audio production that I am also an enthusiast of. So for me, this was a great purchase. I know not everyone feels the same way of pre-builds but at the time, this was the most cost effective way to get what I needed. It boasts liquid cooled graphics card, but it is indeed a fan cooled graphic card. That being said, what I use it for, the fan rarely comes on. Still love it and will use it for years to come.

This is a great value. Fast processor and great graphic card (for me). There are some hardcore gamers that want the best - but the 2070 super is great for me. Loaded with ports and fast SSD to boot - BUT good luck finding RAM for it. You can't upgrade it and get the exact same DDR XMP 3200 ram in it from Dell. While it has 2 8GB or RAM in it (for a total of 16GB) - don't expect you can just get 2 additional. The boot drive is only 256GB. It doesn't take long to fill that up. However, with all of the slots it is expandable.

I bought this PC as an open box item right after Christmas. Right away I notice that the machine is very well thought out. It has perfectly placed USB ports in the front as well as USB C and Audio In/Out. WiFi is built in so no extra things to do. Several USB ports in the back, plus ports for DISPLAY PORT and HDMI. Performance is perfect so far! It is quiet and runs non-stop with out worry! Great purchase for my needs!
