Customers are impressed with the Aurora R7's performance and graphics card, frequently citing its speed and ability to handle demanding games and VR applications. Positive feedback also highlights the quiet operation and good value for the price. While some users noted concerns about the power supply's limitations and the included Optane memory, the overall experience was largely positive.

This was Oculus ready and thats why I purchased it overall. I can also do all other functions my former system did for me. Plenty of power and speed for everything I do with plenty of room to spare. The system was exactly as advertised and exceeded my expectations. The installed memory combined with a massive hard drive will provide all my needs for quite a long time. I've always heard only good reviews about alienware gaming computers and I can now proudly say that I have joined the best of the best.

Don't listen to those who bemoan "UNLESS YOU BUILD A PC BLAH BLAH BLAH". This is the way to go. You are getting a great GPU (1080 card thank you very much), great CPU (I7 8th Gen thank you very much), and while there is no SSD (easily added) the INTEL Optane Memory will make you feel like you have one. Boot up time is seconds, games play silky smooth, and while the bundled keyboard and mouse were nothing great, they at least took the time to brand them with some Alienware stickers which was a nice touch..

This is my 4th Alienware computer and it's performing as expected. I got it mostly to run the Oculus Rift VR and some CoD. So far everything is maxed out in my settings and it looks great on my G-Sync monitor. My only negative is that I didn't check the power supply specs and I'm not going to be able to update to the 1080 Ti (but that's my own fault there), but next gen cards may work with the smaller power supply.

I have had this desktop now for about a month. It has performed as well as I expected it to. It handles all types of games with no issues. It also handles other tasks such as video and photo editing well. The only issue I have had is with the Alienware Command Center software that comes preloaded. It changes my settings from time to time and cuts off my monitor. I have updated all my software and hardware and have not found a fix for this issue yet. This is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

This was an awesome purchase overall. While it does lack in some areas (low performing power supply, no SSD) it overall is a great computer. Anyone who’s done there research on computers knows that most parts are over priced at the moment and this computer you’re badically paying MSRP for the parts as well as a free installation. Long term wise I can’t say since I just purchased it a few weeks ago however overall I am truly enjoying my experience especially on ALL ULTRA SETTINGS!

I have to say that the configuration of this gaming PC is well balanced.
It has a large and relatively fast storage, a very powerful graphic card, a decent amount of memory and the latest 6-core CPU.
It also features liquid cooling for the CPU, which keeps the temperature and noise level low.
Considering all the power you get from this machine, the design is fairly compact.
I would recommend this PC for gamers and content creators.

I did a lot of research prior to buying the Aurora R7. Even so, I wasn't sure if this machine would be able to run my games at the highest settings. That was quickly squashed as soon as I loaded up my software, the Aurora with liquid cooling ran everything at full settings and didn't even break a sweat. It has the Nvidia 1080 graphics card so I'm sure along with the I7 processor, they're a good match. This one is a keeper.

I bought this not for gaming but for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and other related software, and it definitely does the job. I also added 16g ram, 2 of the Samsung 500g SSDs, and it's insanely fast. Definitely recommend if you need something high end.

I purchased this PC right before the RTX series released, and I am happy to say i am not in the slightest bit disappointed. The GTX 1080 graphics card is a force to reckon with, breezing through any game with ease while running at smooth frames the entire time. Paired with my 144hz monitor, gaming has changed entirely upon purchasing this PC. It is definitely worth the money in my opinion.

my first gaming PC rather than taking the route of making it into a hobby by putting the one together myself I chose basically the best performance per dollar pre-build I can find and it happened to be and iconic computer from the last 15 years Alienware although now owned by Dell still feature stylish chassis they kept the aesthetic of the Alienware head logo just enough RGB lighting tell me the right way to make it stand out performance is why I bought it between the i7 8700 although not the K version my CPU still see beads of 4.8 gigahertz now with the Silicon Lottery yours may see more less mine featured the GTX 1080 with a little bit of research it turns out to be the MSI blower Style volunteer card but overclockable mine took the memory overclock over 530 stable and 144 megahertz overclock on the core clock which allowed an average frame rate in Far Cry 5 of 116 FPS in the benchmark the 16 gig 2666 Ram allows multiple tabs be open while playing a game easily able to do both in YouTube with multi screen's however picking up the 1070 would be a much better value for performance with the Dell helpline 24-hour service I had no problem troubleshooting any problems I would have not even being on the phone very long their customer service seems to be second to none I highly recommend any Alienware at any configuration

Tight fit is something to expect when you add a second GPU. The PC is great too, with one exception. They go out of their way to promote expansion for a second GPU, but this machine comes with a 460W power supply. Ordered a 750W through Dell and it wasn't compatible, so I had to return it. Selling me a product that can literally burn itself to the ground is one thing. Calling technical service to get the right upgrade replacement only to get an incompatible part (at twice the normal average price) is simply inexcusable. Alienware used to be a great company and product. Yet another example of a large company purchasing a expert level smaller one, and slowly but surely ruining it. I will not be buying from Dell again. I give it two stars because the machine is fast, and have had no issues in the first month.

I wanted a rig that would be great for multimedia, gaming, streaming as well as the normal office functions. From inception, this model has worked smooth and seamless, with no lag, no problems and very quiet. I absolutely love it

I like this alienware PC. So far it's been great. No real complaints. It's fairly quiet, and run all the games I've thrown at it so far. Overwatch, League of Legends, all while running a minecraft server in the background for my kids. With PC parts being as expensive as they are right now, it wasn't much more to buy an alienware.

I have been absolutely blown away by this purchase. Upgrading from a laptop. I am a professional photographer/videographer, and this more than suffices. Still a little bit of lag loading preview for photos from my Nikon D850, so I might upgrade to a SSD at some point, but other than that, it is great.

I got this open box for a really good deal. I can run most games around 45 fps at max setting in 4K. It runs really quiet. My only complaint is that if you want to upgrade the GPU down the road you will need to update the power supply, which is easy to do because it is only a 460w. Still, love the PC.

I have been a long time console gamer....from the OG Nintendo all the way up to the new X1X and PS4 Pro. Always wanted to try my hand at PC gaming but was always scared not really knowing the in's and out's of building a PC from scratch. I am not dumb by any means and I am fairly tech savvy but there is so much miss knowledge out there I didn't want to get lost. So a pre-built PC for my first time I felt was a really good fit for me. So I can see how a working PC is suppose to work from day one and learn so I can build my own next go around.
First off you will get a lot of PC owners who will frown upon you for going prebuilt. They could build this same PC or better for hundreds cheaper. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!!!! I picked this PC up on sale at Best Buy for $1300. The GTX 1080 GPU is $550 alone!!!! And you still need a mother board, case, PSU, etc. I spent a few days on PC part picker and could not build this PC for what I paid.
On to the performance. I am impressed to say the least. I went with the Alienware 21:9 1440p ultra wide monitor. It's a beast of a monitor and it takes some more power for the GPU to drive it. Playing the Black Ops 4 Beta this weekend I was hitting 120 fps on all high settings (monitor overclocked to 120 hz)
Playing Rise of the Tomb Raider with high to very high settings it runs at a stable 60 to 70 fps in 21:9 mode....again more work by the GPU as opposed to a 16:9 monitor. The GTX 1080 does really well.
Have not tested this in 4k being I don't have a 4k monitor but reviews say the GTX 1080 can't do 4k very well....that may be true. But if you have a 1080p or a 1440p monitor the GTX 1080 GPU will hold it's own IMO.
One thing I wish it had was an SSD over the HDD. But there are spots in the case to add a SATA SSD and will do so when I see one on sale. There is a spot on the mother board for a m.2 SSD but the Intel Optane memory card occupies that spot. I have read that you can clone the OS and replace that with your own m.2 SSD but at the moment that may be a little out of my realm to start testing that.
Very easy to gain access to the case and change stuff like GPU's or RAM. It's like they wanted you to open this thing up and play around. Seriously.....one little push of a lever and the side of the case comes off.
All in all I am very happy with my purchase.

This PC has 4 stars because for the original price you can buy other ones that contain the ssd instead of the optane, I needed to buy an SSD and remove the use of optane because it causing random freeze-ups on the computer. I would recommend this computer if its on sale the way I got it.

This PC had the right stuff under the hood. Fast processor, powerful video card and 16gb of memory expandable to 64gb. Many usb ports and micro usb port. The case looks very nice. I am very pleased with my decision to pick this one. Purchased it on sale too!

Talked me out of building custom

Needed to have a VR-ready desktop, and after debating build vs buy, I saw a weekly ad for this machine at my local Best Buy and it was a no-brainer. I wasn't going to be able to get a liquid cooled rig with a 1080 and latest gen i7 at this price point building custom. The only downside (which actually is a upside to me) is the SATA HDD. It is a downside because boot is slow and it is the single biggest bottleneck on this rig, but since adding an M.2 SSD is so easy (and inexpensive) you get the opportunity for a real quick $100-200 upgrade that will easily bump performance in a very significant and noticeable way. At any rate, it works great right out of the box, will likely serve my needs for years, and getting my hands dirty with an SSD upgrade will scratch the itch to build plus give a great cheap performance boost.
