Features I enjoy: -The backlit keyboard -Ability to change color of keyboard and Alienware logos -The speed of this product -The brightness capacity (i.e., the number of nits is nice) -The number of ports (e.g., USB and HDMI) -The accessibility settings (there are a lot!) -Ability to zoom in on webpages using just the trackpad -The webcam -The charging port being in the back (rather than on one of the sides) Features that require improvement: -The battery life (after fully charging my device, I only have about 6-7 hours of use; I imagine the battery life is reduced when playing demanding video games) -The speaker placement (audio sounds a bit stifled) Unknown to me: -How hot does this product become when playing video games?

I bought this Alienware at their sale price and for the price to performance you can do better, but this is a solid laptop, you can unlock the processor maximum performance settings in registry editor and set boost to a lest aggressive state or disable it completely, this will dramatically bring down the operating temperature with out having much performance lost. In its out of the box config its not bad, its hot but with in spec, over all its a great laptop, upgrade the ram to a faster timming set and enjoy it :)

I was looking for an amazing laptop for a good price, and I have found it! I am an Alienware user for life now, coming from a MacBook to this device still gave me the premium feel. I love the keyboard, the responsiveness of the operating system, the refresh rate, and customizing the lighting options. Alienware is a great product.

As mentioned before, if you are reading this in doubt, should you buy this laptop or not, dont make mistake, and go for it. It is awesome peace of hardware, compact, beautiful, stacked with performance. Few tips for all. Put TCC 10 (at least) in your BIOS settings this will help with overall temperature, if you gonna use this as a desktop substitute than disable the hybrid switch (MUX/Advanced Optimus) Keep everything updated and you will love it. Ultra settings on all AAA Games avg 100 FPS. Everyday work is smooth and efficient. Only minus is high performance fan noise, i hate it... With headsets is okay, without, annoying...

With this particular model there are a number of pros, and the quality of the hardware speaks for itself. If you know what youre doing, it will easily outperform a desktop version of a 3070. It is a 130w 67mh beast and runs right at about 65°c. Making about $5.50 if you have it set up right. Some screen artifacts when not under full cooling. Screen is beautiful. This is one of the optimus spec computers, so you can disable the onboard radeon 6gb graphics in bios if you so desire. Overclocking via alienware is not possible, but works just fine through MSI afterburner. Highly recommend if you can grab at $1700 price point.

This machine is fantastic if you want to practice debugging. Otherwise I can’t recommend it. Over a week just trying to get things to run. Want to download Minecraft and play out of the box? Oh no. This computer was something I wanted to love. It played games in resolutions and fluidity like I’ve never seen. Then it would proceed to crash, blue screen and then remove all my pinned apps from the task bar. Every day it was a struggle to get something to work. I’d spend hours trying to get a program to work properly or a driver to do it’s job. In a week I had three blue screens, two of which were just doing normal things like web browsing or checking out a video on YouTube. I had my hard drive unreadable twice, downloads took forever because the WiFi card software was horrible even after hours and even days of debugging and updating. Every other day I would open my laptop from sleep and it would say Windows did not load properly. No matter what, this laptop just didn’t want to work. This morning I woke up to it closed, asleep when suddenly it started shrieking. Opened it up and it couldn’t find my hard drive. That was the last straw. Shortly after my data couldn’t be found and rather than look for or re download 800 gigs worth of games over several days again, I’ve decided to return it. I did everything within my power to troubleshoot and repair this thing but I’m not going to get stuck with something this expensive working this poorly. I sincerely hope it’s just mine. I troubleshoot windows all day for work. I don’t want to troubleshoot my personal computer for hours just to play a little No Mans Sky. I sincerely hope your endeavor with this computer is much better than mine. That’s my experience. If your computer doesn’t fight you every step of the way, expect an incredible powerhouse with all the power you will ever need, even if the battery life is lacking.

I went through 3 laptops and this one came out on top with overall quality being very solid and great performance. My main issue was with the temperature. The battery would get extremely hot with more than 6 hours of gaming on high performance even with fans at 100%. Easily solvable by adjusting max temps in bios. For people who watch lots of videos the adjustable volume on the right side is a quality of life upgrade for sure, it's a small convenience but it's by far my favorite feature!

Blazing fast laptop. Startup is under 10 seconds from the time I push the power button. I bought an Alienware to future proof it. I still have a Dell that I purchased in 2014 that runs fine, albeit a bit slow, on Linux Mint. This Alienware is blazing compared to any other computer I've ever owned.

Gaming beast with power to spare! Once you set the TCC in the bios to 15 to keep the temps down you are in for gaming treat! Overall build is very good. It does have a slight creaking when lifting the screen open so keep that in mind. Now for the goods - Ryzen 9 5900HX with 16GB DDR4 3200 (upgradable to 64GB) with a powerful RTX 3070 8GB 130W GPU onboard. Onboard speakers are not the best however they will get the job done just a hint of bass! Wireless connectivity is good with decent speeds connecting to WIFI 5 and 6 routers. Laptop comes with 1TB of SSD storage with additional m2 slow to add another drive down the road. Overall great gaming laptop that won't break the bank. Be sure to catch it on sale when you can!

I wanted something portable so I didn't have to bring my desktop rig with me, and this does the job wonderfully! It's great to put in a backpack and play games at friends' houses. It does get pretty warm, but that seems to be the norm for gaming laptops.

Considering it's an open box item, it was scratched and dents on the metal lid...otherwise build quality is nice. Mine also was missing a power adapter. Which is not that big a deal. I did get for a really good price for it's specs and condition. My only issue with dell/alienware is that command center is iffy still this day, sometimes the laptop doesn't run at 100% and results in poor performance, which requires a full restart. I hope dell can resolve the crappy dell/Alienware command center and allow it to play well with windows 11.
