    Wonderful Laptop - Outstanding Quality

This version of the Alienware m16 R1 is a great laptop! In comparison to my previous m15 R6, this laptop runs quieter, cooler, and faster than the previous generation. I had originally considered purchasing a 17-inch laptop because when working with two applications side by side on these laptops outside of gaming, it felt like the screens might be too small; however, the small difference from a 15.6-inch laptop screen to a 16-inch size laptop screen, it is a nice increase. Pros: - The QHD+ screen is bright, crisp, and clear, and there is no stuttering or lag on the screen under heavy loads. - The 4070 paired with the i7 in this laptop, alongside the 16GB of DDR5 RAM, performs very well across all games I have tested. - The 1TB SSD has become the norm and should be the minimum when purchasing a gaming laptop. This hard drive performs very well. The added bonus of Windows 11 Pro is nice, as most computers typically come standard with Windows 11 Home. - Both the RAM and M.2 Drives are expandable in these laptops, and Dell provides an easy-to-follow guide to upgrade these parts. - Worth every penny if bought on sale. I purchased this laptop on sale and used it to replace an ASUS TUF book I bought on sale. The ASUS TUF book was terrible, and I started getting blue screens one to two times a week before replacing it. - Dell customer service is amazing, I have used them before in the past year for another Alienware laptop and had a very positive experience. The Dell Premium Support + is worth every penny if anything happens, and Dell's customer service is easy to work with. https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/alienware-m16-r1-amd-laptop/alienware-m16r1-amd-service-manual/solid-state-drive?guid=guid-42a997f5-329d-4712-8018-6c6114c5255f&lang=en-us Cons: - Alienware laptops can be pricey; however, in the past five years I have owned two. Both Alienware laptops are solid, and my previous generation, m15, is still running well. - Alienware Premium Support + coverage can be expensive if you are looking for an extended warranty outside of BestBuy. - 16GB of RAM, in my opinion, is the minimum for quality gaming and multitasking. However, Dell does offer parts through their store to upgrade their laptops, or you can go through third parties like Crucial (Note: If you buy the laptop on sale, it is way cheaper to upgrade the parts yourself post-purchase). - This laptop is a little on the heavy side when carrying it around for long periods of time; however, what it lacks in portability, it makes up for in performance and cooling. Overall, this Alienware laptop is well worth the price both on and off sale. If you are lucky enough to purchase this laptop on sale and you are in the market for a new gaming laptop, this is the laptop you want!

Impressive Performance and Sleek Design: Alienware

I recently acquired the Alienware m16 laptop from Best Buy, and I must say, it's been a remarkable experience so far. The sleek design and powerful performance make it a standout choice in the gaming laptop market. Firstly, the design is stunning. The sleek, modern aesthetic coupled with Alienware's signature customizable RGB lighting creates an immersive gaming experience. The build quality feels premium, with a sturdy chassis that doesn't sacrifice portability. Performance-wise, the m16 exceeds expectations. Equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card, it handles even the most demanding games and tasks with ease. The high refresh rate display delivers smooth gameplay, while the vibrant colors and sharp resolution enhance the visual experience. The keyboard is comfortable to use, with responsive keys that provide satisfying feedback during gaming sessions. The trackpad is precise and responsive, though most gamers will likely opt for a separate mouse for optimal control. In terms of connectivity, the m16 offers plenty of options, including multiple USB ports, HDMI, and Thunderbolt 4. This versatility makes it easy to connect to external displays, peripherals, and storage devices without hassle. One minor downside is the battery life, which is average for a gaming laptop of this caliber. However, the included power adapter quickly replenishes the battery, ensuring uninterrupted gaming sessions. Overall, the Alienware m16 is a top contender in the gaming laptop market. Its sleek design, powerful performance, and customizable features make it a worthy investment for gamers looking for an immersive gaming experience on the go.

Surprisingly good laptop, for the right price

Really impressed with this laptop after having it for a few months. Has one of the best laptop keyboards I've used, and the QHD+ 165hz panel is fantastic for gaming and watching movies when I'm on the road. The RTX 4070 mobile does a decent job with gaming when hooked up to my 165hz 34" ultrawide monitor as well. The amount of ports included is fantastic. I loved the inclusion of the SD card reader, the lack of ports on the right side (I'm right handed so this is great when using a mouse), and both type-c ports work as display ports as well. Also, I picked this laptop up during the Cyber Monday sales, so the price to performance if I paid full retail may have dropped my overall rating to a 4/5. A few things I've found that some people may want to be aware of: 1) when using the second M.2 slot on the mobo, the included screw bottoms out before fully securing the drive, so I used an insulating washer to remove any slop. I had a few issues where the drive would completely disappear after restart, or even in the middle of use. I'm assuming the slop from the M.2 screw is what was causing this. 2) If you use this laptop as a primary computer, and download a lot of different software, definitely upgrade the memory to 32gb from the included 16. After upgrading the memory, the laptop was a lot snappier when opening games, Adobe Illustrator, and Fusion, where the 16gb felt like it would hesitate comparatively. Also, don't freak out if you do upgrade the memory, and it doesn't boot automatically. The system needs to retrain to the new memory kit, and may go through a few power cycles before completely turning on (just need to reconfirm settings in the BIOS once it's done). 3) From the beginning, the battery life is not the greatest. When off of the power brick, i need to turn on battery saver to be able to get 2-3 hours of work out of it. Though while at school or at work, I'm almost always near an outlet, so this hasn't been too much of an issue for me, but I also never expected the battery life to be good.

A great gaming desktop replacement for the hardcore gamers. It’s a hefty laptop and the power brick is ridiculously big. But man does it pack a lot of power and cooling. I was able to get my for about $1,000 as an open box and it’s been amazing. I used the extra money saved upgrading RAM and storage. I would check for sales and open box models to save money. Great addition to my desktop and highly recommend for those serious about gaming.

bestbuy among all rtx 4070 laptop in the market. Build was excelent quality, the premium service was greatest among all laptop in the market; and the price was just right, not budget friendly but not overpriced either. within the same price range, this laptop has the best offer where it give us i7-13700HX(8p cores), not i7-13700H(6p cores)! the display was a little below average at this price point, where only 300 nits and no dci-p3 build in webcame is another let down since it is not IR camera and will not compatible with windows hello face. keyboard is great to type but the keys are a little small, and it does not have numeric keypad sounds is clear and lound to hear but not to enjoy music system comes with 2 slot upgradable RAM and 2 M2 SSD slots. battery lasted about 3+ hours for web view and reading, no videos streaming and without gaming and last less with gaming, a little short but we can not ask for too much since this gaming laptop contents too many powerful components that are power drainers inside a small size laptop. summary, when it onsale, this is the best bang for your bucks. The bestbuy among all rtx 4070 laptop

It's a good and powerful laptop, I could download and use smoothly all the programs and even play games without any problem. Only the fans can be quite loud sometimes but it also depends on what you're doing/using. Pretty heavy but still I can carry it wherever I go (even traveling)

I love it when computer manufacturers allow for easy upgrades. I was able to swap the ram and add an extra m.2 ssd in about 10 min. The Alienware management software allows for processor overclocking as well as the BIOS. I use Intels extreme tuning utility. Keeping software and drivers up to date can be done easily through Alienware app. This laptop will run Starfield, Cyberpunk, CAD, Microsoft flight, I have been trying to bog it down but keeps on flowing smoothly. The Intel i7-13700HX with Rtx 4070 is much faster than the laptops you see on amazon with an i7-13620H/4070. The factory warranty is good for one year wich is great, the only thing that could make this computer any better would be a liquid cooler port somewhere in the case. I would recommend this purchase.

Very nice laptop the hardware is better anything I’ve ever had the 16gb ram isn’t enough to handle gaming and background apps but if you upgrade the RAM to 32 or 64 there’s plenty of memory to game and edit at the same time I added 2 Corsair 32gb ddr5 4800mh which is the max and the 1tb ssd is big enough for 10 games or so but you can easily upgrade the ssd it has 2 m.2 2280 ports and can take up to 4tb in each port for a total of 8tb I suggest the Intel i7 or i9 i choose the i7 because a few seconds faster wasn’t worth the cost difference because unless you are editing 5k you aren’t going to see any difference between the i7 and i9 and i upgraded my ram and ssd myself the battery life is quick to drain if unplugged and gaming so if that’s an issue for you then you should probably upgrade the battery but plugged in it always has enough power to run everything constantly

This computer is a BEAST! It can even run Yandere Simulator! Its aesthetically pleasing, and runs like a workhorse when doing video editing and content creation. Its a pretty heavy laptop so its not the sort of laptop you can throw into your carry-on and travel with. However, for folks like me who are severely disabled and can't sit at a desk and can only feel comfortable laying down, this is PERFECT

Excellent laptop I bought this for more then just gaming and it works great no problems running games like starfield on the highest graphic settings after all it does have a 4070 GPU in it granted it is a laptop so it has less power then the desktop GPU’s don’t expect a nasa super computer but this laptop is very efficient and sleek

It's a great mid-range gaming laptop. The only downside I have with it is the fan whine at times, but it's not too big of a deal for me. Also got this on sale, I would not pay near full price for this. Only worth it if it's less than 1400.00.

My previous game laptop was Razer oled 4k. I can compare them . This one is better for gaming cooling system is way better because it is larger . Screen razer is better of course . I think this one is the faster laptop I have ever used . Adapter is way heavier and bigger than I thought. Screen is the weakest part but I will use external monitor with it .

This Laptop has the perfect balance of power for it's price. Right out of the box I was able to run render heavy programs like Premiere pro using 6k footage with ease. And with the ability to upgrade if necessary. Battery life on the other hand is so so. If you're a creator or streamer, you're going to have to plug in.

Great laptop. Open box, but pretty much brand new just without the manufacturer box. Awesome gaming laptop, but like most gaming laptops the battery does not last when not being plugged in. Most I’ve gotten in normal mode was an hour when checking emails and online.
