One of the best high end gaming laptops. A bit on the heavier side but that comes with the power it carries. Battery life is a bit low but thats part of a gaming laptop that requires a lot of juice.

It’s worth the premium. Performance is incredible, build quality doesn’t leave any questions about durability. Chewed through games at native resolution. Battery life sucks but everyone already expected that. Recommended!

What i was surrprised to see inside this laptop were the traditional sodimm slots.... because usually dell / alienware product manager(s) seem to like to innovate in bold ways, i half expected to see an early non-ratified version of dell's new memory modules. that would have been pretty interesting. unfortunately in terms of the rest of these new 40 series laptops (all of them intel based). the only 4 hours battery life feels like to big of a deal breaker for me, in 2023 with the power effeciency of these newer generation parts - then i expect at least 6-7 hours to match or exceed previous existing amd laptops (that already came out previous gen). so maybe once amd 7000 mobile cpu parts comes out in a couple of months, and with the usb4 support for pcie / thunderbolt devices. then those will have what i regard to be a more acceptable battery life. however what would also be interesting is people trying to configure / setup these intel onces for lower power usage. and to really try to optimize them on battery. that might mean trying things like idk.... undervolting, or disabling half of the cpu cores. downclocking the cpu. (such things as that). and then checking the effects / the impact.

Love this laptop. Replacing Alienware 17 r4 from 2017 with i7-700HQ and GTX 1070. Only complaint is 350 nits screen is a little dim but I use it half the time connected to an external display. Easy to upgrade storage and RAM which I did. One note additional SSDs will need a heatsink as only one is included. You can get an OEM one from Dell or a third party one from Amazon. Also highly recommend you get a laptop cooler as the i9-13900HX runs HOT.

I have had mine for 2 months. Beastly internals. Thermals are great! Screen is sufficiently bright with no bleed. Great color reproduction. High TDP, so the GPU is actually able to shine. Solid hinges and feels quality. Have had great interactions with alienware CS replacing broken parts under warranty that were my fault. That kind of support will keep me a customer.

Great Buy! Would've been 5 Stars but two Cons (with the exclamation point below) are unavoidable. Pros: Cooling System (Amazing!) Performance Mode (Easy way to get the fastest speeds) Dedicated Sound Buttons (Mute, Volume, etc all with one simple press - no function button necessary) Screen Beautiful (As Always) Dedicated SD Card Reader (Rarity these days) Cons: Limited ports on side of laptop (More in back) Memory (16 is very minimal - upgrade is necessary) Heatsink (No secondary heatsink included - if you want to add an additional SSD you will have to buy the heatsink plate/cover via Dell or elsewhere) Power Plug Tip (Straight tip instead of Angle - More likely to short) This laptop is Amazing I would definitely recommend. I've seen it up to $300.00 off on sale. Note: Razer Nomo Speakers must be connected directly to USB not a USB hub to gain expected performance. (This is an extra tip for Razer Nomo Owners Only!)

After 3 days with the laptop I decided to return it. Cons - Laptop froze right at the start (windows setup process). -Super laud when gaming. -Battery is terrible, best to leave it plug in all the time. -Alien command center sucks. - Doesnt perform accordingly to the specs. - Ran Microsoft flight simulator and Modern Warfare 2 at 1440p with high settings and the fps was terrible for what you are paying. Pros -Great screen. -Good keyboard and trackpad. -Decent audio. -Looks pretty cool.

I don’t often review items, but I had to make an exception for the m16. This machine is a beast, no joke, it’s a monster!! The bad reviews are most likely from defective units, which is unfortunate. My favorite feature about the Alienware M16 is how easy it is to upgrade ram and storage. Love it, and plan to keep it for a long time.

The CPU and GPU are very fast and do pretty much anything you throw at them. One big downside is the 16gb ddr5 memory. You pretty much need to upgrade immediately to take advantage of the processing power in the machine. The other drawback is that even though it tells you that there are four m.2 slots, you can only put one additional ssd in unless you are willing to clone the included drive and then remove it so that you can have two drives larger than a 1tb drive. This takes time which I don't have much of and it costs more money to ugrade as well as creating more waste to have a drive you can't use in the machine. To make an improvement they should have used the smaller m.2 slots as your boot drive on 512gb and a second 512gb in the other smaller slot for 1tb total so adding additional ssd's weren't so time consuming. Once you take the time to fix those issues you have an amazing computer for gaming. This could have easily been 5 stars if it weren't for those two issues.

What can i say. Simply amazing laptop. Running a 4080 card you definitely should get a cooling pad if youre going to push it. Factory oc software works decently. System specs say 4 m.2 slots however 2 are full size and 2 are mini form.

I ask my friend to buy it for me and I was excited when I recieved it. When I finished installing all the updated drivers from Dell and windows problem starts to happened. Everytime I start to play Battlefield V and Cyberpunk 2077 game just crash it only took 5-8min of game time. Tried to reinstall the Nvidia driver but still same results. Even the slightest photo editing in Lightroom and Photoshop it crash. Had no choice but to ask my friend to return it again.

M16 is a powerful machine and full of upgrading possiblities. Two 2280 slots and 2230 slots for NVME SSD. Two SO-DIMM for DRAMs. It has a little lag resuming from idle to normal operation. Don't know if an OS issue or a hardware switching issue between different modes.

Man this notebook is so close to perfect it hurts... literally in this case. One of the main exhaust vents is directly towards where you would hold your mouse. So if you are using the unit stand alone to game be prepared for your right hand to be cooked. Its not horrible but it is noticeable. The only other noticible issue is the screen is only 350nits. While this is plenty of brightness for most uses, I still feel its worth pointing out as a weakness. The combination of these two factors removed a half star each. Its built like a tank

I really like this laptop, for the power is surprisingly not that loud IMO. Pros Good amount of ports Very fast Keyboard feels great Cons: Alien ware command center is not great and you need to use it. Blue screen error since owning the laptop Laptop is heavy though thats to be expected for its size If it really wasnt for the blue screen issue and then likely having ssd failer i would love to keep this.

Very well made machine. I had an Acer Predator with the same CPU and GPU (I9/RTX 4080) and the cooling on that was awful. Common issue. Had to change processor power settings so that it never hit 100% and even still, without turbo boost, would hit 100C. Now, this Alienware is FANTASTIC and has superb cooling for both the CPU and GPU. CPU hasn’t broken 90C under heavy load (averages in the 60’s and 70’s while gaming) and the GPU has hit 72C. Again, cooling on this laptop is phenomenal. Nothing needs to be said about the performance (I mean, look at the specs lol). This is a perfect desktop gaming machine replacement

This one is a gamechanger. This gaming laptop is just on a different level. I use this as my travel gaming laptop and I get almost the same feeling as gaming at home. The dolby audio is good, I can't say much more on that due to any gaming lap top I have had the sound is never top notch but i use headphone for the most part. The 4080 card is the highlight, with that refresh this is the way to go. I looked around before purchasing and this one is definitely one of the better ones with the pricing and the set up. A few things that dont bother me but might bother others, the performance mode with all the fans running can be a bit louder than other. Battery can drain fast but I don't know anyone that is gaming without it connected. The alienware command center can use a bit of an update. I set it and forget it, so for me it isn't that much of an issue.

I love it ! No complains whatsoever, it would be more convenient if there was a slimmer version for the power adapter, as the laptop itself is quiet heavy, have to keep the weight in mind if someone is to carry this bad boy around often. As this is a gaming laptop, I was not expecting a great battery life from it, so its sub-par, and as for the display, the peak brightness is lower compared to that of its competitors, but personally it does not bother me, all in all, buyers will be really satisfied with their purchase of this laptop
