Pretty much perfect across the board, and one of Cameron Crowe's best films. This set comes with both cuts of the film each on their own 4K disc! Quality release.

Quite simply put, this is my favorite movie of all time, so I was beyond excited to see this was getting a 4K SteelBook release. I could not be happier with this purchase, and I love having the option to choose between which version to watch as I love both. The 4K transfer is beautifully done, and makes for the ultimate watching experience of an all time favorite. A must have for any fan of this film! Especially thankful to have added this one into the collection.

I love this movie and own the regular version, the UK imported, and the bootleg collectors blu-ray. The theatrical and bootleg get their own 4K disc. In my opinion the upgrade in visuals is not a big one from the blu-ray. Sound is same 5.1 DTS-HD but I did notice some more bass and center channel seemed more clear on a couple of lines. Upgrade recommended for huge fans of the movie otherwise the blu-ray is excellent.

Excellent transfer for a modern classic from Cameron Crowe. Definitely pick this title up before Best Buy gets rid of all their physical media.

THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT A 15 YEAR OLD MUSIC FAN WHO GOES TOURING WITH A ROCK BAND DURING THE 70 's era. I thought this was a great show about music. the cast was excellent, would recommend for anyone who love music shows.

One of my favorite movies, and this release is excellent. Not only does the picture look great, but it comes with both the theatrical and Bootleg cuts (and while some rightly prefer the theatrical for it's pacing the fact that the Bootleg cut doesn't change the story, I'm a huge fan of the Bootleg cut for the more immersive experience into the world of rock and role circa 1973). If I have a complaint, it's that the digital copy is theatrical only...but as I purchased this specifically to watch on my 4k blu ray player, I won't make any deductions for that. The supplemental material is extensive and lots of great tidbits to explore (full disclosure, this is my first copy, so if you own previous releases, this might not offer much in the way of new supplements). Highly recommended!

Another exquisite entry in the Best Buy steelbook collection. Wonderfully executed with artwork befitting of the film. As for the 4k UHD version of Almost Famous, it's a celebrity in its own right. The transfer is the best the movie has looked on any platform and is another win for physical media. The picture and audio quality is top tier with a balanced use of HDR for a natural palette and skin tones. The dream-like quality of the photography shines through with an appropriate level of film grain. The soundtrack is its own character and fuels the narrative. Overall, this release will delight existing fans and first-time viewers alike. Almost Famous is my favorite of Cameron Crowe's films and features standout performances by Kate Hudson and Patrick Fugit. This coming-of-age tale set in the music scene of the 1970s is a definite recommend.

This is a nostalgic look at the 1970's rock scene and the groupies that surrounded the stars. We're offered an inside glimpse of a rock tour through the eyes of a high school student put on assignment by Rolling Stone. The premise seems improbable but this is the fictionalized version of director Cameron Crowe's real life travels with various rock bands in the 1970's. His adventures are offered in composite form here. Patrick Fugit stands in as the young Crowe and offers a good combination of early innocence tempered by the inevitable jaded view of dealing with real people who just happen to be rock stars. Our idols don't always stand up to close scrutiny. If you want to report objectively, you're not going to be everyone's friend. Very good casting includes Frances McDormand as his strong but loving mother, Billy Crudup as the leader of the movie band Stillwater and Kate Hudson as a groupie that grabs that heart of the rock star and the reporter. In supporting roles are Jason Lee and Zooey Deschanel. Definitely worth seeing as a fine piece of film making plus the period sound track and fine performances all around

This dvd was rapidly delivered. The dvd is in excellent condition and was well priced.

The Cameron Crowe rock film classic from 2000 has made its 4K UHD debut, and the results are first-rate. The picture and audio quality are major improvement over the old DVD and Blu-ray editions, and there are plenty of extras to keep you entertained after the film. As for the film itself, it hasn't aged a bit. It's still my favorite movie of the 2000s by far. So, why not give this five stars? Well, I have a defective copy. The second disc freezes up in several spots despite the disc surface being free of smudges/scratches/etc. Normally, that would mean a quick trip back down to Best Buy to exchange the disc. Problem (hopefully) solved. However, Best Buy hasn't had new copies in since the disc streeted two weeks ago and my window to return it for a new copy is closing rapidly (as of this writing, 7/28/21). I know this is largely Paramount's fault for not pressing enough copies, but this short return/exchange window of Best Buy's is useless if you don't have additional stock! Now I'm stuck with one good disc, and one defective one. Thanks, Best Buy!

great story. great casting choices. definitely a must-see. classic.

I'm an avid SteelBook collector. When I saw that Almost Famous was releasing on 4k SteelBook I was thrilled. Honestly, I'm not huge on the cover and felt they could have done way better. As great of a character as Penny Lane is, there were other great characters in the film as well and they should have been equally represented on the cover. Cosmetics aside, the quality is great from the picture and sound, to the bonus features. If you love Almost Famous, I highly recommend this version!

One of my all time favorite movies. I watch at least one time A month. The 38 extra minutes enhance the flow of the movie going into the upcoming scene. The extras : that include background of the making of the movie. Commentary on how the music was made , and preformed in the movie . Was fantastic. Definitely worth it, and not just for the blue Ray.

One of Cameron Crowe's best movies now available on 4K. I was a little annoyed it was only available in the steelbook format. Thank Paramount for that. But regardless the 4K disc is by far the best way to go and you can only get it in this steelbook. Best Buy is one of the few places that has steelbooks in stock and has great variety. Needless to say if you are a fan of this movie this is the only way to go.
