Sorry Spinal Tap, but this was real. Based on director Cameron Crowe's early career as a rock critic, most of these people and events actually happened. (Allman Bros, Poco, Led Zep, The Who, Skynyrd, Frampton are all rolled up into a fictional band) Very affectionate, and very funny, look at life on the road in the early 70s.

Fell in love with this movie the day I saw it in theaters. Then I saw the bootleg cut and wow it made it even better which I didn't think was possible. Big time must watch

Coming of age movie, brings back my youth. Young Kate Hudson is easy on the eyes, reminds me of growing up. Have watched this movie at least 20 times.

Who doesn’t love music or the early 70’s. Funny & comings of age, being inspired by music and so on. It’s very interesting to see what the world was like back them.

I got this 4K steelbook to watch this great movie for the very first time, and it looked, and sounded great. And so was the movie itself, so I really recommend picking this up while you can!

Very nice steelbook for a classic movie. Includes both the theatrical and extended "bootleg" cut, both on 4k. Excellent transfer as well. Looks like it could have been filmed yesterday.

One of the forgotten classics. Glad it got a 4k release. Video quality is great. Audio is serviceable but would have been nice to get a Dolby atmos track. I prefer the bootleg version.

Cameron crowe basically relating his life story is his gift to rock n roll, but it also a gift to those who have always dreamed of being involved in some way, especially given the era. A great time piece. Acting is genuine and how ingenious it was to cast fugit in the key role. He captured the "awe" as well as anyone could!

loved this movie, the acting was great, the story line was perfect. casting did a great job for the different characters, Kate Hudson was perfect as penny lane, it showed when the music for the fans changed to for the money. liked the party in Topeka KS., lived there for awhile and that was about how it was at the time.

I loved this movie as a former music journalist. It reflected a lot of how I felt when I was out there trying to get stories as a young cub reporter. Even if that wasn't part of the plot, it was still well acted, and flowed in a great way. Great acting by the younger actors. Good supporting cast and story.

I’ve seen the movie before but I had to put in my steel book collection. It’s a great movie with a great story it is a must have if you were movie collector and or watcher.

Almost Famous is one of the best films of all time. And the Bootleg extended version is even better with about an hour of extra footage not included in the original theatrical release. If you like superb story telling and comedic dramas, this movie is absolutely for you.

So glad there's a bluray director's cut of this film, as it was hard to find the old dvd release version of this. This movie is a great portrait of a heavily biographical take on young Cameron Crowe's life. The cast is pitch-perfect, and the film is a gem of a film that everyone should see.

One of the best coming of age movies in the late 90's and early 2000's. It has humor, heart, and dialogue that still stands to this day. Highly recommended.

I'm a musician so this is my kind of movie. This old film I saw many years ago so it was nice to see if again in 4K.

Almost Famous tells the story about a young man who wants to become a journalist for rock n roll. Along the way he meets many memorable characters, and this movie is a very interesting take on the golden age of rock n roll. Highly recommended for anybody a fan of classic rock.

Great movie and a really great transfer in 4k. Was disappointed it's the same audio track as the Blu Ray and not in atmos surround - seems like a miss when the movie is so much about music and sound. That said absolutely thrilled this got a 4K release.

I was surprised by the story and enjoyed the journey it takes you on. During a time when things in music where getting to the point of being commercialized it gives a view when there was still a little freedom before that happens to the industry.
