This speaker packs a punch and has some serious sound quality for the size and price. Pros would be size, battery life, waterproofing, sound quality, and for the cons... well the type-C only charges with rudimentary USB chargers, for example computer USB ports or a USB A to USB C wall block, whereas a "smart" type C charger for most newer devices won't charge the device, not related to the cable. The other con would be that the lights are on by default. They are a pretty useless feature in my opinion, but I wish it would save the last state that it was in, i.e. the lights off vs when it's turned off and back on and the lights are flashing away.

First off, I've had several Altec Lansing speakers over the past few years and most have been anywhere from flawed to junk. Xpedition 4 would shut itself off all the time. Returned it and got another one, same deal. Street Shock speaker wouldn't turn on when first switched on, then would come on like 10 minutes later. After a while it just pops when turned on and never actually turned on. Altec Lansing just makes very low quality products, but tries to charge premium prices. After this HydraMini issue, I believe I'm done giving Altec Lansing more chances to prove themselves. They just make lousy Bluetooth speakers. The issue with the HydraMini is with the TWS linking using two speakers. One speaker works fine by itself. Sure, battery life is really bad, particularly with lights on. Not much bass from this speaker, but then again it is small and you really shouldn't expect something this size to have much bass. It's when you link two speakers together that the real problem arises. Linking two Hydramini speakers was simple enough using the steps instructed. Problem is after a little while playing they will start to get out of sync and sound like an echo. After it gets worse the speakers will like briefly pause, then are back in sync. Or sometimes the sound will just start cutting out for a little bit, then will quickly pause and then be back to normal. And sometimes they will just do a quick pause while playing for no apparent reason. I switched to use the blue speaker as the main speaker to see if it would make any difference compared to when I had the black speakers as the primary speaker, but still the same issue. Sorry, but this is the last straw for Altec Lansing. I've given this company more chances than they deserve to prove they have changed, but they haven't. Bye, Felicia.

It's very nice for the price. If playing at max volume, with the RGB lights on, the battery life is like 3-4 hours. Speaker only charges with the provided charging wire. No other USB-C wire works.

This is exactly what it looks like - an inexpensive speaker. Pros: easy connect w Bluetooth and decent range - like 50 feet. Small and mostly clear sound. Reasonable battery life. Cheap. Cons: battery life at a reasonable level is a bit less than 3 hours, but I was downhill skiing and it was cold which might have ann impact the battery life. I don’t know why there are lights but it is so annoying to turn them off if you accidentally turn them on. Really, sound is just OK and volume is not great. But if you need a quick and cheap Bluetooth speaker that can travel and seems to be snow-proof at least. Then this might do the trick for you!

Great sound, hi volume. Long lasting charge. Light show is a plus but I don’t use it. I can use it anywhere and even hang it on my belt loop.

I bought this for traveling. It's fits pretty much anywhere. It has decent to good sound. Perfect size for a desk.

It’s small and convenient but if your looking for sound quality… as I do, then look elsewhere. It’s super easy to connect and has cool features, but it’s not for me.

Good little speaker for personal use. My phone distracts me so it's nice to have when I want to jam but still concentrate on what I'm doing. Easily connects, the controls are easy to use, and it's waterproof so far (hot tub submersion including). The lights are really annoying though, that's why I gave ease of use a 3 star, and honestly I got so annoyed by it while writing the review I bumped my total rating down to 4. I don't know why they made the lights come on automatically when the speaker turns on. It takes like 10 clicks to make them go away. I'd leave them on, but they drain the battery faster. Weird choice by the developers. Still good for the money though.

This is a cute little gem of a portable bluetooth. It follows me wherever i go for a car ride. I hooked up to my key chain. This has a powerful sound to supplement my phone speakers. Highly recemmend . On top of it it water proof!!

Small and compact. Would easily fit in most jacket/coat pockets or a purse. Comes with a carabiner allowing it to be attached to, or hung on something. Clothing, luggage, back pack, tent lines, a few places on a boat or in a car. Many possibilities. The rubber coating, should help in absorbing shock or impact. Also, helps keep it from sliding around. Haven't exposed it to the elements much but, imagine it will be mildly splash resistant. Sound quality is excellent. Even the bass response is good. Maybe not as punchy as the larger Mini LifeJacket Jolt but, pretty good for the size. Has LED lighting built-in that can be turned on if desired. Has pretty good run time on a charging. Have easily run an hour and a half on it. Likely it will go a good bit beyond that. So far, haven't run it to the low battery/cut-off point. Use of lights will probably cut into the run time ... while they are neat, haven't used them much at all. A short (about 1 ft) USB to USB "C" charging cord is included and it can be charged from nearly anything with a USB port. The cord is short enough that one could secure it to the carabiner to have it available when needed. (Many things have USB ports to charge from these days). Otherwise, you might want to consider a longer charge cord to keep from have to find a USB/charge port close enough for the short cord to reach. A number of new phones are using the same cord so, you might have a longer cord already on hand. A very good buy for the money. If memory serves correct, it was around $30.

Not a high end or loud. But this compact size speaker has good sound for a good price. Would give five stars if the lights could be turned off quicker than pushing the button 12 times

Pros: 1. Sounds good but the IHOME barrel sounds better. 2. The battery may last 4-5 hours if the led lights are turned off. It does not last longer than the IHOME barrel battery. 3. Disco sequence lights are cool. 4. Compact size is awesome. 5. Withstands a fall. 6. All buttons and charging port are protected. Cons: 1. I do not like that the lights turn on right away with the power button. 2. I have to keep pushing the lighting button and go through the full sequence to completely shut lights off. 3. The snap link is flimsy so I bought another. 4. The charging port is tough to open unless you have a sharp object. 5. Charging cable is very short. 6. No description for the buttons.

Waterproof good sound not too big or loud just right for its size

Not a super deep base, but for $20, they work well on the patio. Nice to have for grilling and enjoying cocktails with friends. Nice you can control volume and such from your phone. The pairing is great, but it can get a little picky, even with their instructions. I found I pair them first with bluetooth off on my device and then turn the bluetooth on and it worked every time. Good sound, just wish you could have them remember you don't want any lights flashing or on, have to change it every single time you turn them on.

I think that it’s a OK speaker for its price, magnetic ability and attachments. I do have a significant issue with the battery life on this speaker on a full charge I’ve been able to get 90 minutes of use out of it. So the claims of six hours of battery life I just don’t believe.
