We were deceived by the store display. Bummer.
We are very disappointed with this product. The store display and video says it is easy to connect and install. That is untrue and deceptive
Best buy and Amazon fail to mention that this product will not work on older cars. Our cars are 15, 20 and 25 years old. We don't have any way to connect this to our current car radios. Our cars have no Bluetooth or plug in adapter that they mention in the instructions.
If you dont have a newer automobile this product will not work.
We will be returning these immediately.

I enjoy it the only annoying part is if you dont unhook it itll continuously reconnect to your phone and you cant even tell it to disconnect either it basically just uses your phones alexa app through your bluetooth, other than that its great for if you have friends who want different songs i just let them tell it what to play since i dont always like to play my music around them

I considered this purchase for awhile, not sure if I really needed it. When I had rewards points that covered most of the cost, I pulled the trigger.
It works great! I literally set it up and was using it in 5 minutes in the BestBuy parking lot! Answer a couple questions... I chose wired Apple CarPlay, linked Spotify account... ready to go.
We use the Alexa shopping list feature at home and now, if we think of something we need on the list we can just add it while in the car, before we forget. ( we are 70+ years )It has been solid. No issues. Happy with the purchase.

An excellent addition to your car for whenever you want to listen to music or just want a better speaker. In terms of older cars, this is a HUGE upgrade.

It’s better than my car’s native Bluetoot, I use the aux cable, but I think is super biased to work as it should only with Amazon services, with Spotify it shows some limitation at the offline mode.

Great concept. However your website said your Alexa Auto for my car was compatible with my CX30. It was not. Your Akema requires an extetnal power source but my car does not have a cigarette lighter. In addition - to many wires that cannot be hidden easily. Lastly - i realized i did not need your Alexa Auto at all. My car has Bluetooth and i could access Alexa from my phone connected to Bluetooth. No need for Alexa Auto - so ivreturned it.

Hello Powerchairman,
Thank you for your feedback on the Amazon Echo Auto (2nd Gen) with Alexa Voice Assistant. Sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We strive to ensure compatibility information is accurate and clear, but it seems we fell short in this instance. We understand your concerns about the power source and wiring. While some setups may require external power, we acknowledge this can be inconvenient for certain vehicles. It’s also great that your car’s Bluetooth already meets your needs, and we appreciate your insight on this. Have an amazing day!

It's exactly what I needed for a car with no Bluetooth but an aux cable. The audio quality is good and volume levels are sensitive. The voice control is nice and Google assistant will also work through it (but you have to talk a little louder for it to hear you). Only 4 stars because the Alexa app that enables the voice controls wasn't working to play music. I redownloaded it and it works again.

It’s nice that version 2 is smaller but it doesn’t really seam any better than version 1. It is actually slower the respond than the original version. It also would be nice if it was usb-c rather than usb-a.

Brand response from Amazon Devices Customer Support

Hello MCSHIV! I thank you for taking time to provide a quick snapshot of your experience with your Echo Auto. It should not be disconnecting on you frequently like you are experiencing. You can try Deregistering it from your Alexa smartphone app and going through the set up process again. You can do this by first going to Devices, select your Echo Auto, tap Settings (the gear icon in the top corner), then scroll down to Registered To and tap Deregister. Once that is done, you can factory reset it by tapping and holding the Mute button and Volume Down (-) for 30 seconds. It will begin to blink and then you can follow the instructions in your Alexa app to set it up again. If that doesn't work, then I would recommend reaching out to Amazon Customer Support at 888.280.4331 for further troubleshooting. I hope we are able to get you back to enjoying your Echo Auto and that you have a tremendous day!

Frustration in Synching

I have great hopes, but the Echo Auto won't synch with my Pacifica. Alexa has not been much help in installation. A Chrysler technician spent an unsuccessful half hour trying to help. Our local Best Buy Geek Squad does not have an auto-qualified tech, so I'll have to drive 40 miles to see whether this is a viable product. I will re-review if I get good results
