This is my first stand alone smart device. And let me tell you, we are loving it. I should have bought one of these years ago. From playing music, getting an instant weather report, setting a quick timer, controlling lights, and just having fun asking it questions. Ask it to whisper... Can't remember how many ounces in a quart? Hey Alexa, how many ounces in a quart? Now if I could get it to cook dinner for me, that would be awesome!

Love the sound of this device. It’s room filling and the bass is decent. Pairs well with multiple hue bulbs and is very responsive. Definitely recommend this product.

I needed to fill a sound gap in one of my larger rooms. I had an Echo Show 8 in place already, and that was doing an admirable job. I just need a fuller sound so bought the Echo Plus to fill that hole. It does a marvelous job broadcasting sound into the void. When coupled with the Echo Show 8, the two fill the entire room with the streaming music I requested with my voice via either device. Nice choice. It also has an additional Hub should I want to expand my system further. It sets up easily using the Alexa app.

If you are comparing this to a 3rd gen Dot, then spend the extra money to get this one. We listen to music a lot on our Alexa devices and this by far sounds the best (excluding the Sonos). Also if you are wanting to add smart features to your house ie smart bulbs or plugs this has the smart hub built in which you will need for Alexa to work with the other branded devices. If you get the one that comes with the free smart bulb it works fine but it is just a dimmable yellowish light not bright white and not color.

This unit is bigger in size and sound than the first hubs. The sound is better and having a hub built-in, that is a plus!

I still cannot believe how amazing the sound is on the Echo Plus 2nd Gen. I upgraded from the original Dot and the sound is just breathtaking. I love the quick and easy setup and the ability to link other Alexa devices so you can literally have whole-home music playing, use as an intercom system, etc. Alexa seems to be able to handle more complex skills and she is always learning! Very happy with this device and would highly recommend.

I bought this for my daughter who is handicapped, legally blind and can't use a phone. She has been getting training with it and she loves it. She can tell Alexia to call for help if there were an emergency (it sync's to my phone), turn on the lights and ask her to play music :) She can ask her to tell jokes, set an alarm or what the weather is going to be. It's unlimited and a great tool for her!

First time Echo owner and I'm hooked! However, You can't just have any Echo. The Echo Plus 2nd Generation is definitely a must have if you're going to have anything at all. This has your hub built in so the extra cost is well worth it. You can purchase the wifi ready lightbulbs of any brand without needing the attachments first. You can ask this device anything and she will provide you with answers you would be amazed with. I'm glad we went with the Echo plus 2nd generation the sound and bass are amazing.

Love this speaker! Sound is great and size and loom of speaker is stylish and not bulky. Would purchase again!

Got this for Christmas. Initial set up easy. Have not gotten around to figuring out the bulb or outlets I got but this unit has incredible sound! I haven’t had time to read all the Alexa emails I am getting so right now only using it for music but excited to see what else Alexa can do! We don’t have the best internet speed in our house but we have not had any trouble with this working. Our speed is “up to 12” via a satellite dish. (yes we live in the sticks)

Bluetooth speaker I had been pairing my echo dot with died, so instead of wasting my money on another Bose product, I grabbed one of these on sale for $70 (which also came with a free Hue bulb). The sound is good, better than expected. Bass is impressive for the size, has a fairly bright but not shrill sound signature. For casual kitchen listening I don’t think this product can be beat.

A month ago I barely knew what an Alexa was. We were at best buy getting something else when I saw my wife looking closely at the Alexa's. Her mom has one, Our daughter has one, now we have one! I probably use it more than anyone. I love it! She's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she can do just about anything that comes to mind. For quiet time in the morning I say "Alexa play bird sounds" and she plays an endless sound of birds singing like a summer morning... Any music I want, weather, searches, jokes, stories, games the list goes on! Oh did I mention you can operate your smart stuff too? The Amazon Echo Plus is freaking Great!!!

I owned the 1st gen version and the hub worked very well. I decided to upgrade and give my previous one to my dad. This new one is a lot faster at turning on and off the smart lights attached to it. The sound is still awesome even though it’s shorter than the previous gen. Great item. I think one of the best features is that even if there is no WiFi you can still turn your lights on and off.

The family is loving this Echo device. Stories, music, schedules, answers, device control. This thing does it all. Really sounds good too. I tried to resist the whole "smart home" scene but, it is happening. Just can't lose a grasp on the old timey ways, like flipping a light switch and turning a knob or writing a note on paper.....

I just purchased this a couple weeks ago and I love it. I have a couple other amazon devices but this is my favorite yet. It acts as a hub so you don't need a bunch of separate hubs for all your smart devices. Also, the speaker quality is much better than I expected it to be. I use it to listen to podcasts or music all the time.

This is an excellent speaker for what we need it for! We simply wanted a smart speaker to provide decent sound for our main living area. The square footage of the area we wanted covered is around 1,000 sq ft. This speaker more than amply covers the area. I was pleasantly surprised! The base is deeper than I expected. Alexa is generally flawless. The only reason for 4 stars is if you wanted a speaker to create a "party" like atmosphere, I'd go with a Sonos with Alexa instead of an Amazon speaker. Otherwise, this speaker is more than adequate!!

The 2nd generation Echo Plus has great sound quality for both music and talking, The 3rd generation Echo Dot, which we bought at the same time, also has surprisingly, very good sound quality - just not as good as the Plus; so, it seems to me, the bigger advantage of the Plus over the Dot is the Plus's built-in hub that can control light bulbs, etc. These are all great products.
