I bought this for my mom last year. She liked my Kindle paperwhite but felt it was too small. I bought this and she was delighted with the larger screen and checking out electronic books from the library. I finally upgraded from my 3 year old Kindle paperwhite to the Amazon Fire so I can have easier access to borrowing library books online. I do like being able to see things in color. There is definitely a difference in the size and weight of the two different instruments. But the ability to get library books electronically trumps the extra fatigue on my wrist. I hate that Amazon has created all these different apps. I got an excellent value from Best Buy's Black Friday sales

Big upgrade from the original Fire 7 (5th Generation)! Mainly using for news, reading, light games and email this was a great option. The form factor vs. Fire 10 was the main benefit (smaller and easier to hold). The upgrade from 2GB to 3GB for Plus as well as 64GB storage ensures smooth app performance without worry about running out of space. Only negative point is for Best Buy listing. The description should be updated to specify this model includes Amazon offers. If you want to remove the offers an additional $15 must be paid to Amazon through your account.

Got this as an upgrade to my Kindle Fire HD 8 7th generation. Extra RAM improves speed. Needed a new case as the shape is different. Battery life seems to be longer. Easy to add Google Play Store for more apps. Overall, a nice improvement to this device.

We upgraded her from the 5th generation HD 8. This one has so much more memory. The unit itself is shaped a little smaller and the screen gives you an excellent picture and colors. I was also able to load up the Google Play store on it to give her the best of both worlds.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. He absolutely loves it. We both have one and use them every day.

I have a kindle that is probably about 20 yrs old and love mine. This is “Perfect size” for the person using it has had a stroke. Easy for them to enjoy brain simulation & challeging games. Enjoying reading kindle books too!

This is a replacement for an older Kindle, which is now non-functioning due to a dead battery. If Amazon had designed all their kindles better Amazon could have had a great source of income selling batteries! This new unit has a better processor and more storage, and at a great price!

This seems to be a very good product. The screen is a considerable upgrade from my old Kindle Fire. It is a bit larger but still in a manageable range. Battery life seems pretty good so far. The advertisements are a minor pain, but, oh well.

I like this Fire HD 8 Plus, 64GB! I have an older Fire, but it was starting to act wonky, so I ordered this Fire with a bigger screen and more storage. Get a case for the Fire, to protect it and help keep it clean.

My wife loves her new Kindle because she reads a lot on it and likes the 8 inch. It's big enough to read from but small enough she can hold it easy in her hand. I also got the extra storage so she can save a lot of the books she gets

Love the Amazon Fire. I purchased it as a eReader. Amazon books is easy to use/download. Being a "FIRE". its also an affordable alternative to an IPad as well.
