Great product, the screen is high quality and very bright. It’s pretty fast and overall build quality is nice. Only problem and hence the 4 star is app crashing is very normal. Many of the apps crash often including amazon ones and only fix is to delete and reinstall. Very time consuming and not fun. Wish Amazon can dedicate some more SW engineers to patch apps or improve on this.

The processing speed on the fire max is night and day difference from previous generation. I really enjoy the bigger screen and the clarity would highly recommend if you’re looking for a good Apple iPad alternative for a great price.

The Amazon Fire Max 11 is their latest and most versatile device offering superb general purpose tablet computing, streaming capability and internet access services. Amazon was founded in Bellevue, Washington in 1994 as an online bookstore. Over the next five years It expanded to offer a wide variety of products and today accounts for about 40% of all online retail sales. In 2002 the company created Amazon Web Services to offer cloud computing and web storage services and today it is a leading force in that industry. Amazon Prime subscription service was launched in 2005, offering free shipping and later, music and video streaming. Amazon began creating its own electronic products starting with the Kindle e-reader in 2007. This led to the development of the Fire operating system (based upon Android) and Fire tablets. The first Fire tablet was a 7 inch model released in 2011. Successive generations incorporated various improvements. The fifth generation was a 10 inch HD model in 2015. The Fire Max 11 is the 13th and latest generation of these tablets. Here are the key features of this great tablet: • Amazon Fire Max 11 13th Generation, 2023 release tablet (Model: KFSNWI, UPC: 840268901325) • Memory Installed: 64 GB main/4 GB processor; Expansion via MicroSDXC: up to 1 TB • Operating system: Fire OS 8.3.1.9 (based on Android 11) • Screen: 11 inch IPS LCD, Resolution: 1200 x 2000, 213 ppi, Brightness: 410 nits • Processor: Octa-core 2x2.2 GHz Cortex A78, 6x2.0 GHz Cortex A55 • GPU: Mali G57 MC2 • 8 MP/1080p autofocus rear camera, 8 MP/1080p front camera • Two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound processing • Two microphones • Built-in Alexa with Show Mode • Fingerprint reader on power button • WiFi 6: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax dual band • Bluetooth: 5.3 BLE connectivity • USB-C port for charging and accessory connection • Power: 15 watt Li-Ion battery, 14 hour usage life, 4.2 hour charging time • 39 inch USB-A to USB-C power cable, 5.2 volt/1.8 amp/9.0 watt AC charger • Aluminum case • Dimensions: 10.2 inches Wide, 6.44 inches Height, 0.30 inch Thickness • Weight: 1 pound, 1 ounce • One year warranty • Available Custom Accessories: Case/keyboard, Stylus pen The new Fire Max 11 is a real step up from the older 10 inch Fire tablets. The screen is brighter and its 1200 x 2000 resolution is a bit finer. A smaller bezel around the screen allows the bigger screen to exist in a body which is about the same size as the 10 inch tablet (see photo). It has an aluminum case (compared to plastic on the other Fire tablets) and a tough aluminosilicate glass surface. All-in-all, a very solid design and the slate grey finish is very elegant. In addition, Amazon has released two great accessories – a keyboard case and a stylus which both attach to the tablet magnetically and expand its functionality. The Fire Max 11 is designed to appeal to Amazon Prime subscribers. It is optimized to display the Prime Video streaming content, Amazon Music, Kindle eBooks, Amazon Photos and, of course, Amazon Shopping. Some might complain about this and claim that other tablets have power, but since there are about 150 million Prime members in the US, this tablet is probably much more useful to them because of those Amazon functions. Amazon shows an ad on the lock screen but it is unobtrusive and goes away with a swipe. You can pay a small upcharge to get rid of it, but I can’t image why anyone would, considering how many ads every web browser throws at you each session. I own a 7th generation Fire 10 HD tablet and I evaluated the Fire Max 11 as a possible upgrade for the average owner. I can state without reservation that if you own an older Fire tablet you will be very pleased if you invest in this wonderful new device. It is faster, more capable in every respect, has a sharper screen and the battery life is better. I ran a very demanding test of its battery life. I fully charged the battery, set the screen brightness and speaker volume to maximum and then streamed a TV series from Amazon Prime continuously. The battery lasted 9.25 hours before becoming fully depleted. 9.25 hours is enough to cover the longest international flight you are likely to ever take! This is pretty remarkable. By contrast, my older Fire 10 HD lasted only 7.0 hours on the same test. Streaming video puts a real drain on a battery – much more than typical tablet use, so the claimed 14 hour battery life seems realistic for normal use. The tablet has two stereo speakers and the sound system supports Dolby Atmos. Sound is clear with good frequency range and adequate volume. The Fire Max 11 has two cameras (front and back), both 8 MP/1080p. No, the rear camera is not equal to a top-of-the-line cellphone’s camera, but it is perfectly adequate for most purposes and I doubt that anyone uses any tablet for serious photography. The more important front camera does a great job for Zoom calls and the twin microphones are excellent. It is as good as any laptop’s webcam. The octa-core microprocessor is quite powerful, despite its somewhat limited 4 GB of system memory. Response on all apps I tested was very good. I loaded some large spreadsheets and recalculation time was excellent. The Fire Max 11 has 64 GB of unrestricted memory but you can add up to 1 TB of additional memory with a MicroSDXC memory card. These are very inexpensive and give most of the functionality of additional built-in memory. This tablet supports WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and all previous protocols. It connects quickly and the internal antenna brings in WiFi networks from long distances with rock-solid stability. The Bluetooth protocol is 5.3, the longest-range, fastest and most energy-efficient format. If security is an issue for you, you can require a password or fingerprint scan to unlock the Fire Max 11. The power button has a fingerprint scanner built in. (I did not test it.) The Fire Max 11 doubles as a full-function Alexa Show device. When activated you have a very nice bonus feature, playing music, delivering news, responding to Alexa queries, etc. Since the top Show devices cost about half the price of this tablet, you can see the added value the Fire Max 11 represents. The Fire Max 11 is designed to be paired with Amazon’s superb keyboard case. See my separate review of it, but it is a joy to use, giving almost laptop functionality to the tablet. It snaps on magnetically and draws its required power directly from the tablet. It is well-worth the reasonable price. Amazon also created a very sophisticated USI stylus (again, see my separate review) which magnetically attaches to the side of the tablet. If you use your tablet for graphics or photo editing it is invaluable and adds a great deal of functionality to the Fire Max 11. The tablet has excellent handwriting recognition/text conversion capability so the stylus may be used quite often. These two accessories are very persuasive reasons to choose the Fire Max 11 over competing tablets or as a rationale to upgrade from older Fire tablets. I only have one concern about the Fire Max 11 tablet. Amazon does not give an IPX rating (water and dust protection) for the tablet. I would be careful about exposing the device to water! On the other hand, Amazon touts the Fire Max 11 as being three times more rugged and less subject to damage from mishandling than the most popular competing tablets. I am delighted to give the beautifully engineered Amazon Fire Max 11 five stars and my full and enthusiastic recommendation! It is attractively priced (about the cost of a Prime subscription for two years) and it has invaluable accessories for everyone who desires a tablet which incorporates productivity tools. It is unmatched as a device to utilize the full Amazon ecosystem for accessing video, music, books and shopping. Buy it (with the keyboard case and the stylus for a complete package) – you won’t regret it!

So far I’m really enjoying using this. I logged in using my Amazon credentials and was ready to go! It’s very fast, durable and smooth on my WI-FI 6 connection. There was an initial update and then I was ready to go! I plan on using this mostly for work like keeping notes, organizing some presentations and streaming. Of course I can’t wait to get some games too! I tested it out with Disney plus and was very impressed with the picture and sound quality. I really feel the 11 inch screen size is perfect. It’s large enough to impress, but not too large when it’s bulky. I was also able to download books from my local library to the device. The screen size and a slight brightness adjustment allows me to perfectly read ebooks without eye strain. I have a stylus pen and magnetic keyboard to go with it and both worked perfectly. I got up a Microsoft notepad and was able to scribble some notes. I’m happy I can treat this like a mini laptop. The keyboard is very responsive with the tablet and I’m able to type and click using the mousepad. Like my other smart devices, I’m happy that this has the “Alexa” feature. I can ask Alexa to control my other devices when it’s connected to my home WIFI. It seems like we’re moving toward the type c charger and I’m happy I have tons of those. It makes charging this device a breeze! It’s a fast charge too, so if I’m in a pickle I know I can get a decent charge in 30 mins. I took a few photos with the tablet. They came out ok, I think the camera could be a slightly better quality. But I do realize you don’t purchase a tablet for its camera. Pros: Price Battery Speed Picture quality Sound quality 11 inch screen! Durable feel Lightweight Alexa enabled 64 GB of storage, but opportunity to upgrade Cons: Camera could be slightly better Overall: A fantastic tablet if you’re in the market and not wanting to break the bank. Tons of features, apps, customizations and able to add on keyboard and stylus pen with ease. I highly recommend!

Was pleased to receive my Amazon Fire Max 11" tablet and eager to check it all out. Included is a charger and a USB-C (2.0) charging cable although I ordered a longer cable as this one is pretty short. Also you'll find a microSD card ejection pin and it has a built-in rechargeable battery. It has an Octa-Core Processor, 4 GB Ram, Dolby Atmos and Wi-Fi 6. It is lightweight with durable aluminum construction. There is 64GB of memory but you get that great SD card slot so you can add a lot more if needed. I really liked that feature. No running out of memory with this tablet! Upon opening I started charging and once finished proceeded on. It went right into a software update. Once that was done it connected flawlessly to my Amazon account and my home wifi. I am an Amazon Prime member and as I already owned a Fire Tablet 3 I used the automatic restore feature to grab my information and books off the old tablet during setup. You can also restore manually if you don't want any old information on your new tablet. The screen walks you through several steps, including how you want to sign in. You can choose Fingerprint, Pin or a Password to unlock the tablet. You can also bypass this feature by clicking NOT NOW which is what I did. I then picked some Netflix films to watch and listen in on the Dolby Atmos feature. It has 2.4 million pixels of resolution (2000x1200). The sound is superb! WOW the picture on this tablet is so high quality - crisp, clear, colorful and this is right out of the box with no tweaking. I watched Netflix for 5 hours straight and the battery life was still at 66% so it holds up very well. I really like the 11" size too - not too small and not too large. Using the keyboard case and stylus pen which are must-have accessories, I am really enjoying my experience using this tablet. It has honestly become my favorite and I have 3 other tablets of a different famous brand. Using my Kindle account I found reading was so easy on my eyes. You can choose the dark background with white lettering or the white background with black lettering. Either one you can adjust the brightness to suit yourself. Overall I can say I am quite pleased with this Fire Max and definitely recommend it if you don't want to go spending a lot more money on the other brand high end tablet. This one, in my opinion, looks just as good and sounds even better. I love mine!

Unboxing the Kindle Fire Max 11 and getting started is easy, even for users new to Fire tablets. The flagship of Amazon’s tablets, the Amazon Fire Max 11 is at an excellent price point, even more attractive if you purchase a package with the keyboard and stylus. If your primary needs are social media, email, streaming, email and Internet, this tablet will more than meet your needs. This tablet does so much more, with Alexa, integration with your Amazon account, access to Microsoft Office apps, Kindle ebooks, plus hundreds (thousands?) of games, productivity tools and more. Its small form factor makes the Amazon Fire Max 11 very portable. The bright 11-inch wide screen is crisp and colors are true. The magnetically attachable keyboard (optional) protects the front and back of the tablet and has a sturdy, adjustable stand. The stylus (optional) allows you to select items. write, draw, and play games on the tablet. Use the keyboard’s trackpad when you need a cursor or to scroll. While the tablet comes equipped with a small memory, you can boost its storage capacity to 1 TB with an SD card (not included) for a few dollars. In summary, the Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet package is a mini computer at a mini price point. I recommend purchasing the magnetically attachable full keyboard/case and the magnetically attachable stylus for the full experience. Pros: - Thin, small, lightweight. - Bright, crisp, true color 11-inch wide format display. - SD memory card slot to expand storage. - Full keyboard with trackpad (optional). - Pressure-sensitive stylus (optional). - Seamless integration with your Amazon account. Content available on all your devices. - Allows streaming TV, video, and movies. - Easy to read books using the Kindle app. Adjustable screen brightness and font size. - Speakers provide rich sound. - Bluetooth connectivity allows use of wireless headphones, external keyboards, and other devices. - WiFi connectivity allows connection with smart home devices. - You can mirror your device and stream content to a smart TV. For viewing on a big screen. - 8 Mp front and rear cameras. - Compact USB-C charger and charging cable included. - Battery life expected to be 14 hours. - Attractive metal housing. Cons: - Tablet is slower than expected. - 8 Mp front camera, where competitors have better cameras. - Tablet has a proprietary operating system, browser and apps. Android apps and MacOS apps do not work on this device. - Lack of headphone jack requires an adapter (not included) if you prefer wired headphones. - The 64 GB tablet Firemax 11 comes with advertisements. You must purchase a tablet with more memory for no ads.

    Perfect tablet for kids!

This is part of a 'package' review that includes the stylus and tablet from Amazon designed for use with the Fire Max 11. It's a package specifically aimed at kids so the reviews are written with that in mind (meaning there won't be much focus on productivity or business applications). My review for the case and stylus from Amazon should also be posted under those product pages (not sure how to link them or even if it's allowed). My daughter needed a new tablet so the Amazon Fire Max 11 seemed like a great fit, especially when paired with the case and stylus by Amazon. For her this is a fantastic tablet. Out of the package the set up is typical of Amazon devices--connect to wi-fi and it walks you through. Overall it takes maybe 5-10 minutes depending, of course, on your connection. It was also almost fully charged. One fantastic change is all Amazon devices are now (finally!) USB-C charging devices. The older ones they used on tablet's designed for kids broke a lot--to the point that I stopped buying their devices for kids as it was a waste of time, so that is a very welcome change. It's also very comparable to ipads this size, but much cheaper even at retail price (and can often be found on sale). The case redesigns are great--the tablet looks and feels much more substantial than past designs. The edges feel 'tougher' and the button placement makes sense for volume and power controls. There is still a headphone jack, but the tablet also utilizes bluetooth for ear buds and other devices. It also integrates with other Amazon devices right away. The screen is very attractive. I tested it with a few of Amazon's 4k offerings, as well as some from Vudu and the images were fantastic. I must mention that you will be glad the headphone jack or bluetooth headphones are possible, as the sound from the speakers is fine for every day uses, but you'll want another option for watching any kind of media as it is not very substantial--to be expected from a tablet, of course, but still a little disappointing compared to previous Amazon tablets. Everything else on this tablet is so well-designed I would have expected much the same sound quality as the Fire tablet 10, but did not feel this lived up to even that standard. Apps run fast, and my daughter (like most kids) never seems to close anything on her tablet, but hasn't experienced any significant slowdown so far that I've seen. The Amazon App store has a lot of cool apps and my daughter has already found a drawing app she loves--it's kind of a game that can be played with other players (but minimal interactions so once I checked it out I didn't have much fear of inappropriate interaction) where you 'guess' what they tried to draw and you can submit your own. She's also delighted it plays "Roblox" with no issues (past Amazon tablets could not play it very well, so this is a substantial processor upgrade). I'm okay with that, as well, as Amazon has a good set of parental controls that let you manage time played, apps downloaded, etc. The only issue I've seen with them is the password gets 'tricky' and can't simply be managed from Amazon's page with my log in--a frustration I've had with Amazon's parental controls for a while. Overall for a kid this is almost the perfect tablet for a 'tween'--good parental controls, a charger that won't break easily, and lots of appropriate apps for her to choose from without me having to dig and research them all before allowing my child to use them. The Amazon review system for apps seems to be well researched with good, helpful reviews for almost every app. When paired with the case and stylus from Amazon I imagine this table will be useful to her for a long while, and that's good--especially since it's cheaper than a lot of the pricier tablets out there, but still a fairly significant cost when compared to other tablets designed for kids.
