I own and still use an older Kindle Keyboard mostly for reading. I can do almost anything with the Kindle Fire HDX and I'm still learning how to use all the features and trying to figure out the best case to buy for protecting my purchase from lifes little mishaps...

Tablet is utilized by my wife a primarily a reader with some apps on the side. Picture quality and speed are excellent. If you are not a power user expecting to replace a laptop then this tablet should be in your consideration. Great for internet surfing, streaming, music. Does games well and price is good for a 32gb tablet.

Extremely easy to use and quite powerful ... Has been the best E-reader I've used since the original Nook Color (which for what it was is a great reader as well). Plenty of apps on the system, with easy side loading if needed and of course all of the standard Kindle bells and whistles. The picture is extremely crisp and legible in the bright sunlight, though in the dark it is almost too bright at times.

After comparing the various Kindles I was torn between a Paperwhite and the Fire HDX. I decided on the Fire HDX after comparing the two at the store and after my Surface Pro died suddenly a few weeks after its warranty date passed, then my Surface Pro replacement died even faster 1 day after I received it. I have been delighted with the Fire HDX. Outstanding as a reader and can be used to check e-mails, surf the net, watch photos and films, listen to music, and for multiple other functions. Got this at an excellent price at Best Buy, started using it immediately and absolutely love it! Screen and print are bright and clear with no problems reading in any light, the Fire HDX is fast and easy to use. No negatives at all so far. I highly recommend it!

This is a great tablet for reading academic journal papers in .pdf format, blogs or books and also for watching movies and listening to music. This kindle is very light and thin and hence easy to carry around. It also has a built-in camera, which makes it useful for video chats or taking selfies.

I received this tablet as a Christmas present. I have had an iPad 2 for over 4 years and really enjoyed it. What makes this better though is the screen, the size, and most importantly, the benefit that being joined with Amazon Prime brings. While this device can do office work, it probably won't be for its primary use. However, as a portable entertainment system, it's great. Obviously you can download books and magazines from Amazon, plus it has many apps that are available too. Many games that are on the Google Play store are available on the Fire HDX and look great. It has access to Amazon's Music Prime, as well as Amazon's Cloud Service for storing files. Also, you can use Amazon's video features. This is what puts the Fire HDX over the top from other tablets. If you have Amazon Prime, then you can stream many shows and movies for free. With the Fire HDX however, you can actually download those Prime shows and movies so you can watch them offline, which is great when traveling or somewhere with no wireless access. The 7" is small enough to fit in my front jeans pocket, so it's easy to carry around. When this tablet becomes old and worn out, I expect to replace it with another one of whatever generation exists at the time.

I was pleasantly surprised at the functionality of the Kindle Fire HDX. I had been looking for an entry level tablet to pass the time and keep me informed on an upcoming job on a cruise ship. The HDX is user friendly, intuitive, and has many features I want in a tablet. The absence of a memory card port is of little consequence to me as my download requirements are small and I have access to several free cloud services. The battery life is adequate and the screen is very easy on the eyes, even at this dimension. With the right case, it is as inconspicuous as a day timer and fits in backpacks, briefcases, and even the pocket in my guitar case. The default browser is not the best on the market but hasn't given me reason to download another yet. Well done, Kindle!

The speed is great. Picture is excellent. Lightweight. It is a great tablet overall. My only complaint is that you can't get app's from Google play store.

This kindle has a lot of space and the picture quality is excellent. There is no headphone jack so I had to purchase Bluetooth headphones but that was no problem. I don't like the location of the power and volume buttons. They are located on the back corners and hard to get to especially with the case I have. When the charger plugs in it doesn't lay flat but angles up so I have to leave the case open to charge so it won't bend. Aside from those few things it really is an excellent kindle and I would definitely recommend going with the 32GB. The 7" screen is perfect for fitting in my inside pocket for walks and still big enough to watch movies and tv shows on.

Have had my Kindle Fire for a while and love the convenience of having a smaller wireless device to carry with me. All the features of my computer at home without the weight. Easy to use and download books and games or check emails and Facebook. The reader portion of Kindle lets me adjust size, color and lighting for easy reading. Great product, would recommend to anyone. Before opening it I sent it back after realizing that you can't download Clash of Clans and a lot of other popular games because they are not available in the Amazon App Store. Would be fine if you don't care about games. Bought a Samsung Pro 8.4 for about the same price. Larger screen, full app support, lightning fast. Way better. Can still download the Kindle app if I wanted to but really have no desire.

I love the Kindle HDX 7''. I was nervous that the screen might be too small but it is a much larger display than I anticipated. The screen is very clear and great quality. I am able to easily browse the internet and download apps with ease. I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking to use this for both reading and as a tablet.

My wife and I wanted a replacement for our ipad 2. We knew we wanted something smaller than a 10" tablet, so we looked at the iPad mini. It was really nice, but just a bigger close of my iPhone 5s it felt like. Then I came across the kindle fire hdx. I had seen ads for it many times being an amazon prime member, so I was interested. After just a few minutes of getting to know of on the store I was surprised at all it offered. The graphics were on par or better than all the other tablets at the store. And the sound quality of the two tiny speakers on it is unbelieveable for a tablet, way better than my ipad. And my wife really liked how light and fast it was. So a few months in neither have any complaints. It is used literally every day and haven't had a single hiccup!

Ever since I made the decision to finally buy a tablet, I've been happy that I chose the Kindle. I use it mostly for reading but it works fantastically well for anything else, also. I can watch movies, play games, or even surf the web. Definitely worth the money.

The HDX is awesome. It has a great picture and good speakers for a tablet. If you plug a headset in you're golden. It has plenty of space, I downloaded 6 movies on it for a trip I took and there was still a ton of room for books and other things. It's light and I'd recommend it if you own any other kindle, it's a nice upgrade. Only issue was trying to watch a horror movie (since they're darker) in sunlight.

Great for kids. Screen is highly resistant to scratches and it is durable for handling in the car and in all environments. Loads fast and holds a charge extremely well. Screen quality is also good. Volume can be a problem at times, you may want speakers if it will be competing with other noise.

Bought this as a birthday for my wife's old Kindle Fire, screen has a much sharper picture and is much faster than her older model! A definite must buy!

I have or have had the 1st generation Kindle Fire HD, the iPad mini, and this Kindle Fire HDX. When I say Apples and Oranges, what I mean is that people generally fall into two categories: they either LOVE Apple or they HATE Apple. I call the second group Oranges just to be funny, but in all seriousness I have not been an Apple fan since the very first iPhone came out and I fell into the trap of everyone-who's-anyone-has-one. I have AT&T and every once in awhile I am tempted to try again and "upgrade" to an iPhone when the newest version comes out with all the confetti and balloons, and I am glad I have my iPad mini to remind me to just say no. This is so much lighter, thinner, and faster than the original Kindle Fire HD. I loved this Kindle Fire HDX, so much in fact that I just purchased another one because I dropped this one two days ago and the screen shattered. When someone finally realizes that Kindle/Android lovers need accessories too, (more choices and higher quality cases that provide protection) perhaps I will stop having to buy another one.

The first Kindle we purchased was bought without a protection plan and it was also stolen. We decided to get a protection plan this time. This Kindle is much bigger and much better than the first one we purchased and it was purchased as a gift for my brother. It is exactly what my brother wanted. It fulfilled all of his expectations in size, weight, capability, and connectivity. This Kindle gives him the freedom to view his books, games, other apps, and movies while sitting or standing. The screen size is also perfect since he wears glasses. I would recommend this device to a friend or family member.

This is my second Kindle and I love the quality with value for money I get with this. Best part of this tablet is the profile for every member and the granularity of control with each profile. For kids I have kept an hour limit for apps/games and unlimited for books. Even the games I download are puzzle or mind challenging one so that kids can do something which is worthwhile. Screen resolution and picture quality are wonderful and sound is pretty good as well. Warranty from Amazon is as usual a wonderful experience. Mine first one crashed when left with 3 days of warranty and Amazon simply sent me a new one as replacement. Overall, very much satisfied and highly recommends.
