The swan song of the AM4 platform

A noticeable jump in frametimes compared to my older cpu, in which was a Ryzen 5 3600. Swapping to a newer cpu in the same board I had makes this upgrade quick and easy. Now I can comfortably run most modern titles with this little beast at slightly higher frame rates at 1440p and let my RTX 3080 stretch its legs a fair bit more. Though very good with gaming, it can get quite toasty even with high end CPU coolers and I recommend undervolting if necessary. A very valuable upgrade if you’re still in AM4.

Great CPU for gaming if you're on AM4, needs a good cooler though and good airflow because it runs hot. Normal temps with Noctua DH-15 I'm sitting around 56°- 60° as my tower is not great. Its worth the money for AM4 if you're not looking to upgrade to AM5 any sooner.

Great performance for the price but it runs HOT. I had to buy an AIO cooling system. The regular fan and thermal paste couldn’t keep it cool enough to prevent the processor from throttling itself. This would even happen on less intense games. It would just skyrocket up to 90 C. With AIO cooling it can stay in the 70s even with really demanding games. But even then the cooling system is working hard to keep it cool.

It’s a cpu, it does what it’s supposed to. I didn’t have any issues buying it from Best Buy and everything went smoothly. If you want to know more about the cpu in question most people consider it the best gaming cpu of the am4 platform, keeping up with a lot of current gen competition. If you don’t do a lot of gaming you’re better off with one of the regular x series Ryzen cpus.

the processor itself was a major upgrade from my 3rd gen ryzen 5 , the processor has run amazing and the performance has been on par i have run into 0 glitches or issue with it . the only reason it gets 4 stars out of 5 is it does run a bit warmer than the 5800x and the extra cost of the 3d is quite a bit more after the recent price drop to performance . all in all i would buy it again

20% increase in FPS in single core optimized (or in un-optimized I suppose) tasks. The larger cache allows for shortened load times and simultaneous operations within programs that can utilize the feature. No increase in general load times. Minor to major improvement in games that lean on CPU. Major improvement in rendering. An obvious upgrade for anyone running less than a 5700x who wants more from their AM4 before jumping MB’s. Ie: 5800x - 6 elements at 40fps, 12 elements at 20fps 5800x3d 6 elements at 50fps, 12 elements at 50fps

Great processor, got addicted to overclocking though and would like to replace it but it's still competitive with next Gen processors so I can't justify upgrading to a unlocked processor! This is an fps monster and if you are looking for something to pop in and not worry about this is for you!

The 5800X3D still ranks near the top of the charts when it comes to gaming performance, even compared to newer AM5 and also Intel's 14th Gen chips. If you've got an AM4 board with an older Ryzen and you're weighing your options for upgrades, consider this as a huge bang for your buck option.

This is really a great cpu for gaming. I upgraded my 3700x and have zero complaints. Keeping my x570 and ddr4 ram for another year or two is great! I adjust PBO and Undervolt to get max performance. Cooling with the Artic Cooling 240. Wasn't inexpensive compared to others but worth it, if you sell the old its cheaper.
