Although I enjoyed reading Chris Kyle's book, this movie (and Bradley Cooper's portrayal of Kyle) is outstanding! Much of the movie is spent time jumping back and forth during Kyle's four tours of duty, but the acting from Cooper and others is great and the story told hits upon al the main points from the book the movie is based upon. I highly recommend this movie for all American's to watch, regardless of political affiliation. Just watch and be glad there are service members such as Chris Kyle willing to put their lives on the line to protect our way of life.

This movie is one of my all time favorite movies i have ever seen. I've watched this movie at least 10 times, can't get enough. It's an amazing story about Chris Kyle and his tours/experience in the Military as a Navy Seal. One the bravest. best snipers the world has had. It's an action filled movie that will have your eyes glue to the screen. It's incredible and beautiful, his story makes you feel for him and his family. A little sad but a good sad. Definitely recommend watching.

Clint Eastwood does it again with an unbelievable portrait of the war in Iraq as seen through the eyes of the deadliest Navy Seal Sniper in history. Bradley Cooper's portrayal of Chris Kyle was awe inspiring. This movie ranks right next to other titles like Black Hawk Down, We Were Soldiers, and Saving Private Ryan. This movie shows what other movies fail to do, they show the issues with PTSD and what the families go through while watching the carnage on the news. Great great great movie. Very few films have moved me like this one did.

This was a VERY hard movie to watch, however I think it is a movie that every American should see. Bradley Cooper was excellent, his best movie yet in my opinion. This movie was testimony to the sacrifice the men and women of this country make to protect its citizens and way of life. Words cannot describe the respect and gratitude that I feel for all military and their families. That being said, this movie was well made and as realistic as Hollywood can get, caution to vets who live with PTSD, this movie could trigger flashbacks.

Without foreshadowing or spoiling anything, this movie is VERY well directed and acted. The action is truly engaging, the story is true and you're pulled in from the very start; it's hard to NOT get emotional in one way or another. Superbly filmed and edited, prepare for a story you won't soon forget. Remember - this is a true with very little deviation from actual events. We all know the outcome but it's important to know what a true Patriot will do for his or her country and brothers and sisters in arms. HOOAH!

Some times the hype overwhelms the item it is trying to promote. You won't be disappointed here. This film is the rare combination of heartfelt emotion and raw power that you don't see often in films today. All performances are first rate and the script and direction are deft and on point. They tell the incredible story of an extraordinary man and his all to brief life. The special features while few show the way Chris Kyle touched those around him in a way few people can or even attempt to in this day and age.

Navy SEAL Chris Kyle is sent to Iraq with only one mission: to protect his brothers-in-arms. His pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and, as stories of his courageous exploits spread, he earns the nickname “Legend.” However, his reputation is also growing behind enemy lines, putting a price on his head and making him a prime target of insurgents. He is also facing a different kind of battle on the home front: striving to be a good husband and father from halfway around the world.

This is an emotion packed film. It let's you see and feel what the snipers have to go through to do their job to protect our troops. It is one of the hardest training programs in the armed forces. My wife's cousins son was a sniper and was killed only a few days before coming home. A very true rendition of what it is really like to be a sniper and what they have to go through. Again, an excellent movie. A movie about heroes. Bradley Cooper did a great job and Clint Eastwood did a wonderful job directing.

I had heard that people complained that what Kyle did was murder and it wasn't. This movie depicted the travails of war and what it can do to a person and their family and the stress and hardships it can be on everyone. Anyone that thinks war is a friends game of mouse needs to grow up and stop talking about something that they have no clue about. This movie is excellent as it portrays everyone in a manner that is more human than the individuals saying what he did was murder. Highly recommended.

This is a good movie. I know that supposedly there are some details that were exaggerated in the film but it is entertaining and mostly based on actual events. The sound quality on this Blu-ray is great. Obviously knowing the real life events, the movie has a sad ending.

Anyone who feels this is a pro-war or American propaganda movie simply hasn't watched it. It's an extremely well done story of one man's experiences through 4 Iraq war tours and his recovery at home. This movie brought to life the hard things Chris Kyle and many of our veterans had to do in the Iraq war and the scars, mental as well as physical, it left behind. I highly recommend this film.

This is a great movie that I bought AFTER I had seen it. It is not your typical "war movie" full of us-them stereotypes and gratuitous violence. It is more about how American soldiers were forced to deal with punitive "rules of engagement" and their own moral standards under fire while honoring the code of protecting the brotherhood of fellow soldiers and your family obligations. It is a fitting tribute to a great American role model who only ever tried to simply do his job..

I saw this movie in theaters and thought it deserved another look in the comfort of my home. It was well put together good color, clarity, picture, and sound( minor expectation from a bluray). The movie itself is good with the normal amount of war chest thumping. The story behind the movie is what made me enjoy it more. It tells a story about how most people see our troops as members of the Galactic Clone army (seek, destroy, repeat, go home normal); They are really individual men and women with the same feelings and emotions as everyone else. Except they are enduring something that unless you've been through it, YOU will never understand. I appreciate the fact it shows a man and family that endured and eventually payed the ultimate sacrifice for their service. Great job by Bradley Cooper. Its sad that it is a true story. I would however prefer that our clandestine operatives consider keeping the stories as that, clandestine and unprinted for their safety and the safety of those involved.

    American Tragedy

This biopic of an American war hero, whose job it was to keep the men in his combat unit from getting killed while on patrol or in a fire fight. He was a sniper par excellence and had to make some very difficult split second decisions to stay on the edge of what is right and what is reckless abandon to his skill. Like any true story, you can't change the ending, but in this case you would really like to.

We saw this at the theatre and it left me speechless. When the lights went up and everyone stood to leave, no one was able to say a word. The audience left the theatre in total silence. It wasn't until we were finally in the lobby that people were able to speak about what they had just seen and what an incredible film it was. Bradley Cooper was fantastic and brought you right into the film with him. The entire cast did a tremendous job. I knew I had to own this one for sure.

My husband and I watched this movie first in the theater. We both thought it was a great movie and could not wait for it to come out so we could purchase it. Of course, it is a war movie so, it has the f word in it quite a bit. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it all the more loveable! A big "thank you" to all who have served our country in any way, shape or form.

Look, the plethora of Middle Eastern Conflict/ War movies the last 10 yrs can get one a little blasé towards the genre. Duly noted. However this movie is a little different as it lends itself towards the duality of a man dealing with the fact he loves his family life and all it represents, but needs the reality of war and patriotism to drive his soul. An internal tug-of-war ensues, and we are treated to a grand performance by our hero, Bradley Cooper. A tremendous movie.
