Good cord for connecting my phone audio to my car speakers that allows me to charge at the same time, but doesn’t eliminate the buzzing sound in my particular car (Toyota Camry 2007) when I listen and charge at the same time. Also its chunky weight sometimes causes it to pull ot of the port on my phone.

Excellent, good quality product. The sound coming out of this dongle has better separation than iPhone’s original headphone jack. The sound fidelity is also excellent with excellent signal to noise ratio. Listening while charging effectively restores the capability Apple removed on newer iPhones when the headphones jack was removed. The sound fidelity coming out of this dongle, when wire connected to a good headphones cannot be matched by any Bluetooth headphones, including AirPods Pro. You don’t have to be an audiophile or a musician to recognize the contrast instantly.
Only two annoyance with this dongle:
1) Lightning cable plugs on the side of the dongle instead of the bottom, creating a “T” instead of an inline connection for more streamlined cable management.
2) Auto-play feature: Soon as the dongle is plugged into lightning port, music/media (iTunes) stars playing. Wish this feature could be configured in iOS settings, such that user must press play if music is required. This is probably an iOS issue and not so much introduced by the dongle. Ideally, this dongle should behave just like the old iPhones which had separate headphone jack and charging port!

A very good alternative compare to the Belkin.

I recently bought a pair of Sony MDR-EX50AP Earphones for the gym and just to have something as an option while my AirPods Pro is charging. But since my iPhone XR doesn't have a 3.5mm audio jack was looking for an adapter and for a while, I had used the apple 3.5mm audio jack to the lightning the adapter from apple but got annoyed that stop what I was doing. Unplug my audio adapter and replug to charge the phone. So doing some research for a while I saw the Belkin was the only one and didn't like its design wise and it was more expensive. Then I saw Anker one and honestly, it was more compact and seeker. Plus it was cheaper than the Belkin version. Anker is a well-known brand from cables to battery packs and I have never gone wrong with their products. The audio comes out clear and clean, My iPhone XR changes perfectly fine. Build quality is extremely nice and feels really good. The cable is more protected on both ends of the adapter so you can have that peace of mind. Worth the investment.

Overall works great. Has an issue with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and Bluetooth in my Tahoe because it doesn’t like to play music and then switch to the audio for speaking like the Belkin one I had did without issues.

Great device, would be Excellent if the power were in the same direction as the audio, like the old Belkin device it’s replacing (device had an accident :-/ which are now $40+ if you can find)
Sound is excellent and clear. Ports and plugs are snap-tight and snug connections. Overall quality is excellent, as expected from Anker.
Will seemingly have to buy right-angle lightning cord for better cable management.

I bought this because the cheap charger I found on Amazon failed after about two weeks, and overall I've had a good experience with Anker products. They stand behind their products and they have a generous replacement policy.
That said, I'm not thrilled with this item. I'll keep it because options for plugging in a headphone or an audio cable on an iPhone 7 are severely limited. I use it in my car to listen to music, as my vehicle is older and doesn't have Bluetooth. With the pre-7 iPhones, plugging in a cable and a charger was easy, and using the phone through the car speaker was automatic. With this device, telephone audio does not pass through. It's only for music. So when I ask Siri to make a hands-free call, I have to use my hands to disable the device or no sound comes through.
Having the charging port on the side instead of at the end means there's always a cable hanging awkwardly in front of the my car's temperature control knobs.
But what's most annoying, and what led me to write this review, is that music starts playing as soon as I plug the adapter into the phone, even if the Music app is closed. It picks up the last thing I was listening to and automatically starts playing it. Maybe I don't want music just that moment, and just want the phone charging.
It's absurd that this product even needs to exist (thanks, Apple!), and it's ridiculously expensive for what you get. As I said, though, unless it breaks down, I'll keep it. What choice do I have? Even Anker doesn't list this product on their site.

Tried to use this for my car audio system. The 3.5mm aux connection was pretty unstable and sensitive to very small movements. I tried this with multiple AUX cables. Also, within a week of using I had issues with the charging functionality of the device. Overall this device is a little bit too flaky for car audio use. The Insignia lightning to 3.5mm chord is a lot more stable for car audio use, the only downside being that it cannot charge your phone at the same time.

Two can-do's as shown on the Anker booklet included in the box
1. charge through lightning port and audio through 3.5 mm AUX jack at the same time (my primary goal)
2. data sync through lightning port and audio through 3.5 mmAUX jack at the same time (I haven't tried this but good to have!)
One can NOT do:
audio through lightning port and 3.5 mm jack at the same time

Does not work with calls/FaceTime

I got this adapter to replace a Belkin adapter I usually get. I've gone through several Belkin adapters because they start to come apart after less than a year of usage (the wire gets all exposed). I was really excited to hear Anker released their own adapter because I love Anker's products.
It works perfectly if all you want to do are charge your phone and listen to something on your headphones.
I read mixed reviews as to whether or not you could use this adapter on the phone/FaceTime to call someone.
You can use it to call someone *sometimes*.
What I mean is that whenever I call someone, there's a 50/50 chance they just hear nothing but deafeningly loud static and they can't hear me at all. I know it isn't my headphones because I was able to call/FaceTime that same someone without any problems by switching to my old (albeit damaged Belkin adapter). Anker says it is something to do with Apple's technology, but I doubt this because it does work for calls *some* of the time, and Belkin of course does not have this issue.
Unfortunately will be returning because I got this solely for calling others.
TL;DR: Buy this if you want a less expensive and probably better quality than the Belkin adapter and you only want to use your headphones to listen. It cannot be used for calls/FaceTime, because the other person will hear nothing but static on your end.

This is great for my iPhone 8.
I just upgraded to iPhone 8 and wanted to keep using my Bose headphones that I’ve had for ten years.
I love that I don’t have to choose between charging my phone and listening with my earbuds.
It stays in the lightning port really well. I was afraid it would keep popping out. Not at all! It goes in securely and stays in like it’s life depended on it. This is a top quality product. The wire is thick and strong, not cheap and flimsy. It bends and stays there. I prefer it over Apple’s lightning to 3.5mm dongle.
If you see your phone say it’s “not supported,” don’t fear, just take it out, flip it over and put it back into the lightning port.

It was 100% great at the beginning. After using it about a month with my ear buds, my iPhone 13mini will frequently freeze and tell me "Accessory is not match with iPhone (etc.)". I tried to ignore the warning and kept pressing Play. 3 days ago, my iPhone 13 mini turned itself OFF and scared me. I'm not using it now.....

Exactly what I needed! What I appreciate about this item is that it is not bulky and when You are dealing with thin wires like headphones and charger cables, you do not need a bulky adapter! Great design! This is perfect fr those transitioning from older Apple products to the newer ones without the aux ports.

I homeschool, so my kids and I use our time in the car nearly every day on the way to errands, classes and appointments to listen to audiobooks, music and other material for fun and/or education. My van doesn't have Bluetooth, and my new phone didn't have an auxiliary jack... enter this "dongle". I bought a cheap one elsewhere that lasted for a year or so, and then started to tell me "the device wasn't supported" or something like that. So I bought another cheap one, which buzzed when in use, and the lightning adapter broke off completely after only a few months of use - thankfully not inside my phone, but that fear is why I finally decided to splurge and buy a better quality one. I landed on this one and so far, it's doing the trick. It just feels like better quality and doesn't buzz when I use it. It's only been a month, so I'm hoping it lasts longer than my last two or it won't have been worth the extra money, but so far it's a win.

I loved it. It worked well with both my IPhone as well as my IPad. I put it in the box. Placed it in the cabinet and came back to use it and it died on me. It still charges but I can no longer hear anything.
I will take it back and exchange it and hope for the best.
