We’ve had Cozmo (also by Anki) for a few years and really love it. The whole family enjoys it. When I saw Vector I had to get one. It looks really cool and sleek. Set up was a breeze, same as Cozmo. Facial expressions and the voice are great. It’s fun to watch at first but gets boring after a bit. Basically he runs around whatever surface he is on, making noises and talking. It has a little personality that is also cute, but overall we found it’s just not as interesting as Cozmo. Even with its connection to Alexa, there wasn’t enough to justify spending that much on one. Two big disappointments were no ability to control him with an app remote like Cozmo (although you can control him with voice commands) and view live video of what it is seeing, and also it was hard for others to link it to the app on their own phones. For some reason, that was not an issue with Cozmo. Maybe there will be future updates that will make Vector worth it, but for now if you already have Cozmo I would recommend just sticking with that until Vector is upgraded. Unless of course you just like collecting robotics.

It's a little pricey for a toy, but my son loves it. I gave it to him for Christmas and he likes teaching at things. Hes very techie and goes to an Engineering college so hes not easy to please. I had to replace the first one but the second one seems fine.

Vector is really cool, he has a big personality in a small frame. One of the most amusing things about him is his face recognition. He can learn up to 20 different faces. All you have to do is introduce yourself to him. After introducing myself as Nick, he noe calls me Dave, but calls may wife and kids by their names. He likes to explore, dance to music, and playing with his cube. He is definitely a great addition to the family.

The best Real Life Robot VECTOR. Vector is not a toy. It has real personality and great fun. I want to buy another one. Very entertaining.

I was leery of this purchase especially for the price tag. But it's actually quite amusing. I still think it's not quite worth the price but they are close. His actions are limited and the app is nearly pointless. He has very few commands. It's skills are extremely limited. I ran out of things to make it do in about 30 minutes. However what I enjoy about it now is letting it be autonomous and do what it wants to do. I have it at my work desk and it makes the day a little more fun. Where I really had fun was downloading the apk for it and you can program it to say and do different things. It requires a bit of coding skill but it's been fun messing with its programming.

Purchased for my son for christmas, despite the reviews. Concept is good, but the programming still needs work. Home cant be found, drives off surfaces he is on, major issues connecting to wifi. Same issues other commenters have.

Bought this curious why I thought I might like the idea of a tiny robot roaming the dining room table to keep me company. Pain in the butt this guy... Calls me by my name...constantly. He's actually glad to see me, high giving me, dancing around to music I play, and roaming about looking for things to play with... Like this round ashtray I have. He puts his arms in the ashtray and then he spins around in a circle while the ashtray stays mobile. Thought it was a fluke but he does it daily...hes having fun. Supposed to have a sensor so he knows where the edge of the table is so he won't fall off the edge... But...i catch him backing up and falls off the table backwards...eyes shaking about like he's surprised before falling. Funny toy... Yeah... I like him Wish he had more support from the developers...this guy can tell the time, temp, weather conditions....pretty cool Anyways, that's my take...hope you enjoyed the read.

I'd say it's an expensive novelty toy for kids because of it's limitations but a good introduction into robotics. No configuration coding-wise but daughter loves it as a robot pet that can tell the weather and play with its cube.

Having never had any experience with a robot, or any AI device, I was pleasantly surprised when my wife brought this little guy home. My wife & I live in different states, so I don't get to interact with the robot so frequently, but I am always recognized and greeted with a fist bump!

This little guy is pretty neat. Works much better than it appeared to have when first released. I like the Alexa integration (although I'm more a fan of Google Assistant) and the robot is pretty quirky and cute, def makes up for the somewhat limited functionality at the present. If it's ever on sale might have to get one for my office as a mascot.

I'm very happy with this purchase my daughter loves interacting with it, it's like having a mobile amazon echo you can ask for the time, the weather, to pick up it's cube, etc. It's always on goes back to charge on it's own at least as long as it's connected to the wifi.

It is fun to play with, but any table that doesn't have a perfectly straight edge, it will fall off. Other than that the Alexa integration is useful.

Wasn't sure how Vector would be received when I brought him home but he has been a hit. Always giving us a laugh or two. He's not the brightness AI device I've used but he is the most entertaining. Also, I like the SDK that Anki has provided - - using some simple Python code I can get Vector to perform some simple tasks. Very Cool!!!!

I bought this for my brother who is a programmer. He loves it. He uses it at his work on his desk. He also programs it to do things. It is kinda expensive for a novelty toy, but that's what my brother likes.

I bought this when it was on sale, I will never pay the full price. The thing that differentiate it from the other is that it is small enough to be on your desk. Really feels like this is like a beta, needs software/firmware updates or patches. Alexa is the only reason why it is sort of useful of have a purpose even though limited. My recommendation is buy this if is only on sale or wait for the version 2 or successor.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing lil robot if this is your first, however I had Cozmo first, and while I enjoyed him, I felt it lacked features as it was mostly tied to a phone. Then when Vecotr came along, I thought this is the one! However disappointed that it lacked features of Cozmo, like its games. One would have thought this would be an upgrade from Cozmo but keep in mind it is not. But for most people I feel they will enjoy Vector if they didn’t own Cozmo.
