Simple concept. Seal food in a bag, submerge in water at the minimum temperature when done, for the proper time: For me: Fish for 30 minutes at 122 then remove immediately for best results, lamb at 131 for at least 3 hours, turkey at 144 for at least 3 hours, chicken also at 144 for at least two hours. Since cooking to the perfect temperature when done, can remove from water bath at any time. No over cooking, even hours later. Photo of salmon seasoned with capers.

I was skeptical... My son in law tried Sous Vide and it was difficult without this Anova cooker. He said the Anova made it so much simpler. The filet mignon steaks he cooked at Thanksgiving were stupendous. When I didn't get one for Christmas, I went out and bought one for myself. We cooked a beef tenderloin and prime rib to perfection. We have tried fish and liked it too. I plan to use it for melting chocolate in candy making because can control the bath temperature so precisely...

i was intruduced to sous vide cooking when my friend brought it up to me. i have never heard of it before, but after she told me about it, i decided to give it a try. the best decision i made. easy to use, and you get some of the most flavorful and tender steaks, chicken and pork. it may seem a bit tedious as you need to wait at least an hour or so, but its well worth it. it also allows you time to do other things while you're waiting, and once its done, you can do a quick sear and you're good to go. for anyone who hasn't tried it, i highly recommend it.

I have been wanting one of these immersion circulators for the longest time and finally bought one. This Anova is super simple to use. The one thing I do have a complaint about is that the app sometimes doesn't notify me 100% of the time when my water bath is done, but the device does beep. The app also has some great recipes. Overall, this thing is great. I've been using it almost every day since I've bought it.

This product is very easy to get started with and the first steak dinner I made was spectacular. Definitely one of if not the best steaks I have ever had.

This was my first time cooking sous vide. I highly recommend this cooker if you are wanting to try sous vide. You must use your phone if you want to use the timer function. Although, this is not really necessary. The timer doesn't stop the cooking process. It just lets you know then the time expires. If you want to use the timer, you set the time and temp on your phone and tell it to start. The app will tell you when the water is heated to the desired temp and prompt you to put in your food. Only after clicking ok does the timer start. I have mostly just put my food in the water out of the tap, start it, and walk away. I lose the timer function but that not a big deal. You may want to consider paying the extra money for the wifi version. I wish I would have. It would be nice to be able to start a 4 hour cook from my office so it's ready when I get home.

As a chef, we use this quite a bit in our daily cooking. I decided to buy one for home use and got the exact same model. Figured if it was good enough for a commercial kitchen it's good enough for home. I was amazed at just how accurate the temperature is. I checked it using a Thermapen and the Thermadot probe. All read within a tenth of each other. Heats fast, runs quiet and works flawlessly. I sous vide everything now! Newer models I'm sure are great but this 800 watt unit works for me.

I purchased it online from BestBuy and it showed up two days later. That evening I cooked a pork loin and it turned out perfect! Quick browning in the skillet and you're done. I have since cooked chicken and steak, both to the perfect doneness! I downloaded the Anova APP and it provides a lot of good recipes and makes programing even easier ( I do wish the app would alert when the water comes to the correct temperature and the cooking time is complete). But there is nothing to put together, simple to use, and cooks to the doneness you select without needing a temperature probe, and there is virtually no cleanup. I look forward to using it on a regular basis! What's not to like!

I've been cooking ala sous vide for over 2 years now. NEVER had a bad result. Follow any online destructions and you're guaranteed to have a good result. Still have to manage searing after up to 3 days cooking (yes, a couple hours or as many as 60 hours) but that's a skill anyone can learn. 2 minutes, flip, 1.5 to 2 minutes more on HIGH heat, 5 minutes rest on a cutting board and a flank steak becomes close to tenderloin in texture and tastes excellent. And YES, it'll be RED in the middle. JUST DO IT. I've bought 2 more as gifts for deserving friends. Buy a FoodSaver vacuum bagger to do the rest of it right. Start simple with S & P, then go for broke and buy some dry rubs. There's a reason why the good restaurants are cooking this way.

I've always wanted to try Sous Vide cooking after reading so much about it online. Supposedly, it's the best way to cook steak. Well, I do love me some steak, so when the ANOVA Precision Cooker showed up in front of me, on sale, when I was waiting in line on Black Friday, I took it as a sign.
Bought it, picked up some steaks the next day. Set it up using the easy to follow instructions on the app, and I was cooking. About 45 minutes later, it was done, and I was searing. It was a good steak. I would talk about the steak more, but the review is for the ANOVA.
Cooking Sous Vide requires some research and some kitchen know-how, because you need to figure out if, a) your item will Sous Vide, and b) how will you "finish" the dish. The ANOVA takes the guesswork out of rare vs. med-rare and (ugh) well-done. The app has some useful guidelines and recipes. I would say that the app can get confusing, so just navigate it carefully. Also, the pairing can get wonky if you fall out of range of the device. On some occasions, my timers got reset, which was not that big of a problem, but I feel that I should share it. I'm thinking I should pick up a dedicated tablet/device for my kitchen, so this wouldn't happen again.
The ANOVA does its job. The big reason that I did not give it a 5-star rating was the app. You don't need the app to cook sous vide with it, but it's super helpful when you do.

I was recommended this by my nephew who cooks for a VFW post.
I wanted to do a large roast for the holidays but feared getting the meat evenly and sufficiently cooked through. Sous Vide to the rescue. This is the method that is used by restaurants to be sure the medium rare is cooked medium rare and the medium well is medium well.
My practice roast was a 6 lb chuck roast and it was cooked evenly all the way through. Same doneness from edge to edge. In addition, due to the long cooking time, the tough portions of the chuck came out tender and delicious. The only thing I did not do (that was recommended) when cooking chuck is to trim out the fat pockets.
All in all a great experience!!
Important!! If you do decide to buy this be sure to read a good sous vide cook book for tips on use.

The Anova Sous Vide is a great device for beginners and advanced chefs alike as it will provide you with the most accurate cook times however there are some downsides to it.
Pros:
-Device can be started and adjusted manually, no phone or anything
-Device works great temperatures stay withing 0.1 of a degree and there arent any inconsistencies
- Food texture is alot better
-Great item where you can just dump your food in and relax until done.
Cons:
-The bluetooth on this thing is abysmal, I would highly reccomend the wifi version if the mobile/phone aspect of this device is your main appeal for this item.
- The item is LARGE *think of a skinnier 2 liter bottle*
-The Anova app isnt the best and there are pretty limited recipes on it.
So in summary its a great device but its not really as mature as it could be. Still great for basic sous vide but its not really a life changer for most.

For two years, I've used this for every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter... and then some.
I cook huge briskets and lamb shoulders and pork shoulders. Soooo Juicy and tender.
Best of all, with the slow cook method, the main course is ready when ever the rest of the meal is ready.
Every one is late... no problem, it just gets more tender.
Everyone is early... no problem, it's just as good!
I found an old Ice Chest at a garage sale. I drilled out a hole the diameter of this device and slip it in. Fill the cooler with water from the hose. plop my brisket in. Set it for 150f. walk away for 36 hours. Come back.. Masterpiece!
First one I got the housing was damaged. BB replaced it right away. No complaint.
I left it outside once to cook on my patio. The AZ summer sun and heat on the top of the unit made it error. Fortunately it wasn't a holiday meal. Lesson learned. No problem since then.

The Anova circulating Sous Vide is a great machine. It is accurate on temperature and extremely easy to use. Bluetooth app is nice but has a limited range, around 30 feet.
