Customers are enthusiastic about the ClearStream 4MAX antenna's excellent reception and the large number of channels it picks up. Many also praise its ease of use, quick installation, and the generally good picture quality. While some find the price a bit high, and a few mention the antenna's size, the positive feedback on performance significantly outweighs the negative comments.

I am so pleased I purchased this long range antenna. I had gotten so fed up paying a small fortune for the so-called privilege of having 157 channels with nothing on. So I started planning how we were going to free ourselves from cable.
My first step was to choose a HD streamer. We decided after reading endless reviews to place Roku devices into 3 different rooms with TV’s. After I quickly installed them all we decided to pull the plug on our cable company. I am pleased to report that the Roku HD stream was exceptional and easy to operate with a small intuitive remote.
However, we had now given up all of local news channels.
Where I felt our selection for viewing was vast and more controllable (we now subscribe to Netflix, Hulu and Disney Plus along with our Amazon Prime) one problem still remained.... streaming news is limited and just kind of wonky.
So that takes me to the point of this review. The ANTENNAS DIRECT - CLEARSTREAM 4MAX HD ANTENNA.
I researched everywhere I could to find one that appeared to provide a nice clean signal. Since I live about 80 miles from Mount Wilson (Los Angeles) where our So Cal broadcasts come from I needed a long range antenna. This model not only captures all of the local channels, I now also pick more channels then I ever knew existed out here in the inland empire. And the HD picture quality is amazing! The installation was pretty simple. I purchased 25 feet of coaxial cable, attached it to a fresh new 3 way splitter then took the existing coaxial cables that lead into the rooms where out TV’s are and WHAM! Instant Local TV in all of my rooms.
So If your considering cutting the cord and reducing your home entertainment costs I highly recommend the ANTENNAS DIRECT - CLEARSTREAM 4MAX HD ANTENNA.

This was an awesome purchase. We’ve had indoor antennas for years but got tired of having to readjust to get certain channels. With the Clear Stream Antenna 4 MAX mounted outside, we went from 19 channels to 40+ including 4 major networks with no interference from a vehicle driving by or having to readjust. I did download an Antenna pointing App to help locate antennas to make sure I had the best reception. I didn’t need to drill holes on roof bc I removed a satellite dish left from previous TV channel provider and used the existing stand from the dish to mount the antenna and the existing coaxial wire from satellite. There is a small nut you need to loosen to have access to coaxial wire on satellite. Now we have clear reception for all our TV rooms and no additional payments.

Want crystal clear local channels for free? This is the way to go. Pulls in 35 hd channels including ABC. Saving me $35 a month. I’m around 50 miles away from the nearest station. Have this outside near my roof. Connected to all 6 TVs in the house. Only glitched a little in a storm near the stations. Pouring rain in my area didn’t cause any interruptions. No one can tell I don’t have cable services.

I live in central jersey. I cancelled the Comcast cable TV service in favor of using this digital antenna. Comcast sucks. This antenna works well. I get 85 channels, though it took some adjustment to hone in on the towers. I also added an amplifier to boost the signal, though the cable is only about 20 feet. Without the amp, I got 81 channels. I got 5 more when I added the amp. It would be nice if the antenna were omnidirectional.

Outstanding quality. This antenna saves me $125 a month over what I was paying Verizon. It is wll made, and effective in bringing in about 30 digital channels after using the pointer app. I get better reception and have less issues during storms. Easy to install, just plugged in where the Verison cable used to go. Great reception on all three TVs

I researched a few antennas and ended up with this one. I needed something for long range. I ended up receiving more channels than I expected in an area filled with hills. I mounted outside on the chimney and using the app that the mfg suggested, I pointed it in the right direction. Good investment and no more cable bill.

Excellent antenna. We mounted it on the peak of the roof. We are getting a great picture and about 70 channels. We are in the DC area and so we get duplicates from Baltimore and DC of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS and CW but they are digital and crystal clear. We have it working for 3 televisions. We have Netflix and a few other similar web based options and cut our cable bill by $150. That is soooo nice!

It's a very good on anttana, A little on the large side but I guess that's what makes it work good and it's good that it works inside or out In a way is pretty stylish considering with the old antennas used to look like I recommend anybody who needs one to go straight for this it may cost a little more but it does the job

Took more than year to install. Had a 13' ladder fall just as I was stepping on the roof. Needless to say, this delayed my installation more than year. Just installed 12/2020. Picking up 29 stations in the Cleveland OH. Area. I live on hill, so atenna is installed above most surrounding structures. Transmission Quality excellent for most of the 29 channels. Transmitters are about 40 miles away. I've adjusted the alignment several times using a compass and still not getting good picture quality on NBC, channel 3. We cut the cord. Purchase a Amazon Fire TV-Recast 1TB DVR. Connected antenna to Fire Recast DVR. The DVR streams both live TV internet channels via Wi-Fi to three TVs located throughout the house....,No cable or ethernet wiring to the TVs required.
The antenna is presently installed on a 1st floor porch post. To improve reception for NBC, I may move the antenna higher to a rooftop location to see of this helps. If your old like me get someone younger to climb the ladder, make sure you have a spotter to assist. Last years fall from the roof gave me a brain bleed, fractured cheek, two root cannels, dental braces for the next two years and blew out my knee. Be careful.

I used a Mohu Leaf 50 antenna for about 18 months with my Fire TV Recast. The Mohu was easy to hide in a room and I had been fairly happy with it, but a couple specific local network stations were regularly a bit dicey, causing jitters and dropouts.
Having had a recent NBA playoff game ruined because of picture problems, I decided to go for a more powerful antenna, resolving even to risk my life on a roof install if I had to. So I bought the ClearStream 4MAX based on the large number of positive reviews. Thus far, I'm really impressed.
The antenna is about 32 inches wide by 17 high and projects a bare minimum of 4" away from the wall, so it's not something you'll likely want in your living room. Assembly is fairly straightforward, but two of the screws were difficult to install because of what seemed like poor tolerance threading. I at first even thought I was using the wrong screws, but with some careful fiddling, I was able to get them seated properly without cross-threading anything.
With my old antenna, the maximum number of channels I could reliably scan was in the mid 40s. With the new antenna and some judicious positioning, that number is 73, even though the Mohu had an amplifier and this one doesn't. I didn't even have to put the 4MAX outside, as mounting it on the wall of an attic closet provides plenty of signal.
All in all I'm very happy with the purchase. The price is a bit steep given the construction quality, and you need a place where you can hide this either outdoors up high or indoors without a lot of walls between it and the outside, but it definitely is providing a more enjoyable HD over-the-air experience for me.

We decided to quit paying for the high price of cable, so I bought this to replace a 20+ year old antenna on top of the house. Wanted to clean up the look as well as find a suitable replacement. This worked perfectly, and the channels come in strong and clear. Installation was very easy since I used the existing mast which also holds our weather station.
Assembly took me like 5 minutes with a phillips screwdriver, and had this up and running in 15 minutes by the time I got the ladder out!

We bought this antenna 2 years ago and have been very pleased. We we're able to position the antenna so we receive 39 stations! Rarely do we have any issues with reception. Weather doesn't seem to interfere, picture and sound are clear, and we are able to watch all the programming we normally would have with the local basic cable package. We stream all other programming on Roku. We chose to mount the antenna on the roof gable rather than to the roof surface to prevent any possibility of roof leaks. We live in a rural area with the nearest local broadcast stations 40+ miles away.

We got this unit as we decided to cancel Direct TV. He had several services that provided many programs for much less cost. The one thing we were lacking was local stations to provided local news. In researching our location, it seemed that an antenna was not going to provided much service, where we lived. We tried 2 indoor antennas and got worthless service overall. I figured i would give this one a final try. I mounted it on the pole that our satellite dish was mounted to (which was about 4 feet off the ground) and I was so pleased to be able to get well over 20 stations. It exceed expectations for sure. I would recommend this unit.

Great picture on any size screen. All locals are clear as 4K (IMO). Also get several other channels in addition to the typical locals. I believe my channel count on antenna alone is around 100. Add high speed internet to your smart TV and youve got all the bases covered! All less than the cost of 1 month of cable!

We live in a valley and had bad reception with our old antenna. Now that TV is digital I gave this antenna a try. I temporarily set up the antenna on the driveway and received 32 channels. I'll be setting it up permanently then cancel cable saving about $179 per month.
Antenna cost $150.

We live about 45-50 miles from transmitter location, but quite high on a hill. The antenna is mounted at ground level, on a heavy plank for stability. The house next door is actually blocking direct exposure to transmitter location, but reception is excellent. I have it connected to the in-house coax distribution system, and we have TV sets at two locations. If we didn't live on a hill, rooftop installation would still bring in good reception, I think.

Not much to say here. Its an antenna to get over the air channels in higher uncompressed quality vs cable or streaming. I mainly use it for sports and the setup is easy enough once you get your location coverage. The higher you place this the better but it can be installed indoor. I added mine in the ceiling on my garage and once pointed in the right direction all the channels i needed came in.

This is my third (and I’m happy to say, final) attempt at cutting the cord. I’ve purchased two other antennas, both too light and unable to withstand strong winds greater than 25 mph without shaking so much that my picture became distorted. This was a problem with both the standard and Omni-directional version. My first antenna was $20 and did ok.., but when the wind blew more than 30 mph I had to accept losing some channels! A stronger gust cracked the base and it came crashing down to the ground! The second one did a little better at $60. It got hit by a small branch (very small) and cracked in half! I decided to look for a stronger build, did some research, and the Clearstream 4MAX was given very high marks when searching for the best in the market! In fact, it was #1 on the list!
The Clearstream 4Max is made of a much stronger material and can withstand winds around 45 mph (so far) with very little or no signal loss on channels 60+ miles away.
Sure... I have to rotate the antenna pole if I want more channels (I keep it aimed in one direction for my needs - and get over 45 channels! All in 4K for free!) Cord officially cut!

Not as many channels as I had hoped but, we're not allowed to place it on the roof due to the association rules. It is some what blocked by the side of the house and roof. I believe if we could place it on the roof it would pick up more channels. We still get around 55 channels in one position and probably 20 different channels of we move the position about 3 inches. We just have to move it back and forth. Not a big deal to me. Overall we're happy.
