For the past decade I have only used APC surge protectors and battery backups. And the newest in a long line of APCs, this one has not disappointed. it is small enough to fit in tight places. I have two desktops a printer and a display plugged into this. It has saved my equipment from a couple of power outages already. It is easy to use/overclock, reasonably-priced, good build quality, and great support.

After 2 months of owning it, it failed on me. There wasn't even a power outage it just started beeping with an error message and had to be shut off. The company though has really good support and replaced it quickly after a detailed diagnostic session. The new one is working fine, hopefully that was just a one-off issue.
Anyway, my use was to power my ubiquiti Network gear because whenever there's a power flicker the whole thing shuts off and takes almost 10 minutes to turn back on. This gives me plenty of time to switch over to my whole home battery backup so I can continue working. I work from home so the 10-minute down times were frustrating and this fixed that issue.

Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPSs) have been common in most people’s homes for decades, but they probably saw a tapering off in sales volume as full sized home Desktop PCs were superseded by Laptops, Tablets and powerful Cell Phones which have their own built in battery backup and power conditioning systems built in.
Home Theater Systems have become more elaborate over the years and the many subsystems incorporated into the Home Theater deserve protection from power surges just like full sized PCs. Shutting down larger Home Theaters in an orderly fashion during a power failure requires more UPS power than most PCs. That’s where the relatively high output capacity of the APC Pro 1350VA shines. As shown in the attached pictures, the power consumption of my home theater as an example is fairly high. It includes a 75” TV, an Xbox One X, a Denon AVR-S730H Receiver pushing a 5.2.2 Surround system, a Western Digital NAS and a 10” and 15” Powered Woofer. The close-up picture of the illuminated dash on the APC Pro 1350VA shows the system under load. The long tapered triangle on the top right of the display shows 2 bars out of 5, indicating that the unit is at less than 50% capacity. The power management software that runs on a PC indicates that the APC Pro 1350VA can supply back-up power to this home theater system for 45 minutes before needing to be shut down. During that time the APC Pro 1350VA will be emitting 4 beeps every 30 seconds to alert anyone in the house that the home theater should be powered down. The alarm can be temporarily silenced if desired. The LED display can also be set to be on constantly or to only light up if there is a power problem.
PROS:
- The back of the APC Pro 1350VA has 6 individual u-ground outlets that supply both battery back-up and surge protection. This is a larger number of battery back-up outlets than most home UPSs. It has 4 more u-ground power outlets that offer surge protection only.
- The included PC software can adjust and monitor the operation of the APC Pro 1350VA to tell the user when, how many and what kind of power problems have occurred. It can test the capacity and readiness of the system. It can monitor power usage when everything is operating properly and tell the user how much money it has cost to operate the items attached to the APC Pro 1350VA over a period of weeks or months.
- The APC Pro 1350VA can tell the user in real time if it is able to handle the electrical load attached to it. It also indicates some problems (short circuits, etc.) that occur in the items it is protecting.
- The APC Pro 1350VA has the capacity to protect larger systems than most home UPSs.
- The owner can control whether or not the LED display is constantly illuminated and can temporarily silence the beeping alarm, even if the power failure is still in progress. Personally I’m an information hound and appreciate the LED’s real time information on current load and input line voltage among other things.
CONS:
- Like most UPSs, the APC Pro 1350VA output plug-in strip is oriented and surrounded by other protected outputs like coaxial cable and LAN cable connections in such a way that most power bricks (for things like external hard-drives) each cover two U-ground outlets, significantly lowering the number of devices it can protect.
- The APC Pro 1350VA can only be positioned vertically, which means it cannot fit inside the shelves of most Home Theater Credenzas alongside the amplifiers and tuners. This means that all of the power cables for these items going to the APC Pro 1350VA, must be routed outside of the credenza which can be a long distance and can look unsightly.
CONCLUSION:
- The APC Pro 1350VA has lots of bells and whistles for those who like to monitor and “fiddle” with the features included. If the wattage and capacity needed to power your system is larger than most home systems, the APC Pro 1350VA can probably handle the load.

Reliable Device, Simple to Use, Works as Expected

Instead of using this device to backup my computer, I used it to backup the following: CPAP breathing machine, cable modem, wireless router, network connected alarm clock, cordless phone, nightstand led light, Slingbox, cable digital converter box, small HDMI to Component box, and phone charger (see picture – if you look carefully, the Slingbox is under the nightstand). The APC unit handles all these devices very well. I also have additional devices connected to the back of this unit, such as a small 19-inch television and a laptop power cord, but those devices are only plugged into the surge protected outlets. This unit comes with 10 outlets; all ten provide surge protection, but 6 of the 10 provide battery backup in case of a power outage.
In total, I have 10 devices plugged into the 6 battery backup outlets. I was able to accomplish this by using high quality/low gauge 3 Outlet 1-foot extension cords (see picture). To prevent damaging the unit, and causing any electrical hazards, if using an extension cord, the shorter the better, and additional power strips with surge protectors are not recommended.
In terms of use, except for the CPAP machine, which I plug directly into the back of the unit, most of the other devices are connected to one of these short extension cords. It’s important to note that the overall load from all the devices connected to the UPS is very low. If I was running larger equipment, such as a computer, I wouldn’t be backing up this number of devices. In total, the 10 devices only used about 7% of this units 810-Watt load capacity (see picture). When the CPAP breathing machine is not running, the display shows the unit lasting for about 173 minutes (close to 3 hours). When the breathing machine is running, the display estimates the UPC unit will supply backup power for about 91 minutes to all 10 devices.
Please note: I do not have any expectations that this UPC unit will run my CPAP machine on backup power throughout the entire night. I do, however, appreciate that it’s there as a temporary backup if the power goes out for short periods of time. With the built-in alarm in this UPC unit, I would have enough time to wake up and properly takeoff my sleep mask.
To test this system, I simulated a power outage by turning off the power to the whole house; I flipped the main circuit breaker. The unit automatically switched to back-up power and every single one of the devices continued to work properly. I was able to maintain communication with the outside world via the wireless internet and was even able to watch TV through my laptop, steaming from the Slingbox.
Overall, I am highly impressed with this unit. The rated amount of time these batteries are expected to last are about 3 years. I will be happy if I get close to that before I need to replace the batteries, which is common with UPC backup units. The only complaint I have is a soft wisping noise the unit produces every few seconds while running on regular household current. The unit is situated on the floor, near the other side of my nightstand. I only hear it when I’m a few feet away and the room is completely silent. Otherwise, I don’t hear it at night because either the fan, air conditioning, or breathing machine drowns it out. If it wasn’t for the wisping noise, I would give it 5 stars. Otherwise, it’s a strong 4.5 stars.

Wonderful piece of equipment, functioned well right out of the box and was very useful during Hurricane Helene. It also protected by computer during a surge event when a house in my neighborhood got struck by lightning.
More on the Hurricane Helene story - I ended up unplugging my computer and all related components from it and used it as a battery for phone charging and keeping the fish tank pump and heater running!
Saved my brother's fish and all made it through the storm!
When power outages occur it kicks into gear instantly and keeps everything running safe and sound. All that you want from a battery backup!
Dependable, reliable, and keeps peace of mind due to being there causing no problems whatsoever!

I really like the pro series difference on these ups because you get a type c charging port up front and it's just a little bit smaller than the regular backups the display is nice and tells you exactly what the load is how long you've got with the current load that way you can make sure what he can support this one can support my 85 in TV and 7.2 surround sound 21 minutes at 50 DB sound that's pretty nice specially in Florida with all the lightning

Good Back-Up UPS Unit

Experienced one power outage after the UPS was purchased and it performed as described. Only my router, modem and power for my landline phone were connected drawing a load around 20 watts. Given that load, an estimated battery run time of 3 to 4 hours was available. Fortunately, power was restored before the battery was depleted. The available 10 outlets should have been spaced apart a little farther to accommodate large block shape plugs that come with AC chargers. Only 6 outlets have dual battery backup and surge protection capability, the remaining 4 provide surge protection only. This is a minor inconvenience but worth noting. The unit runs quiet but an alarm goes off when the unit is engaged. The front panel alarm mute can be programmed OFF if you don't want to hear the alarm when the battery is in use. The LED interface also displays a comprehensive array of the units overall operational status so any guesswork about the battery are negated. The price is reasonable for units capabilities and I gladly recommend this product as a basic UPS

This thing. Let me tell you. I love me a good battery backup. Especially the one that protects the computer I am typing this review out on. See, this thing protects my rig. It allows a safe, cozy shut-down. It protects it from a brown out or blackout. Its a surge protector. Literally, the electrical body guard of my rig. Willing to give it all. I absolutely recommend having one of these.
You can also hook your modem and router up to this in a power outage and you can at least get some interwebs for meme-scrollin.

Perfect for my gaming PC

I bought this UPS as a backup for my expensive gaming pc. Besides just my tower, it runs two monitors, modem, router, and home phone. It runs all these with no problem! The UPS runs on about 60% load with computer on, 3% load with computer off. That equates to about 25 min runtime with computer on and 3 hours computer off.
I tested the UPS by flipping the breaker to my house and the UPS switched to battery immediately with no delay seen on computer or monitors.
There is a slight hum or clicking sound when the UPS is running on battery but it is totally quiet when plugged in on AC power.
The display is super easy to use and helpful. I like that I can turn it off too so it doesn't light up the room.
Overall, I'm very satisfied and have no complaints at all!

We had a very bad lightening storm that took out multiple electronics (us and neighbors) not connected to APC. One side of the outlets on our old APC quit working but electronics plugged in was not harmed. Could be just old, but had been discontinued. This new guy was already tested during power outage due to more lightening. PC, modem and monitor stayed up with over an hour available. By the time I got everything turned off (lightening was continuing) power came back on and new APC evening out brief power losses.

Overall very happy with this purchase. The design of the unit is much better than an older one I am replacing. More importantly it is providing peace of mind. It is protecting equipment I do not want to replace because of surges. Also offering battery backup allows me finish up work if in the middle of a power outage. A nice feature is the USB and USB type C port for charging small devices. I have small battery packs that I will use first. If they happen not to be charged I have this USB option on the APC to do the job. History will tell if this was an excellent purchase. I do know there have already been two events since I purchased it. The PC App also provides additional information about the unit.

Powerful UPS and easy to install. Was concerned the prior one didn't last more than a few years, but purchased two of these. They are expensive, but they protect some much more expensive equipment. Had a power disruption recently and my computers with three monitors each and two wireless printers stayed up until the power was restored.

I got this UPS because we kept losing power for short periods of time and my PC would lose power. I plugged the PC, 2 monitors and our router into it. It will keep power to everything for about 40 minutes. A feature I really like is that it shows in minutes the approximate battery remaining, so you know how quickly you need to shut down. Very nice. It has several outlets for backup and for just surge protection.
