Man, finding out i needed this cord was a whole ordeal... Not too long ago i purchased Airpod Max's and was ecstatic to put them to use; bluetooth via phone and apple music was incredible; audio quality was phenomenal, but the real test was at home waiting for me. As a music producer you need to connect headphones directly into your interface for the best lossless audio quality; when i got home i realized my bluetooth to desktop PC sucked and the connection wouldn't hold up, next day i went and picked up a lightning to aux adapter, got home, plugged it in, didn't work whatsoever. (this is where the review starts) Looked online for aux solutions when dealing with an interface for about an hour and came to the conclusion that you NEED to have this cord if you want a direct line-in connection to the headphones... or spend $50-$100 on a good BT adapter. (personally not an option) So i searched for a black version of the cord (to match the setup of course) and thats when i realized owning APM's is really a lifestyle smh, and by that i mean price of this cord shouldn't be an issue with the price point of the headphones, but man is it giving me 'Meta Quest Link Cable' flashbacks ($80 cord)... Next day i went and picked up the white cord because unfortunately BBY didn't offer a black version, i plugged in, and boom!, the action was FLAWLESS. Lets talk about the hardware of this $35 cord... It's more thin than ANY of the official Apple brand cords, so you have to be just a lil bit more careful with it but, from my understanding for the month and some change i've had the APM's, you dont find yourself needing to move the cord from one spot. (especially in my instance where it stays plugged into my interface. ) (The bluetooth is more than enough when using the headphones outside of the house wether its via phone, ipad, laptop, console, etc.) The length is alright for most i suppose, it covers the depth of my desk no problem from interface to head with dangle room left over, again i just get a little nervous when it comes to the thickness of the cord.

Great sound, very crispy compared to other brands available at Best Buy, this one has the best sound quality output. The quality of the cable leaves much to desire. It’s so slim that it can easily distort sound as it wears out quickly from regular use. Not worth the price unless you’re extremely careful with the cable when plugging and unplugging it. The less you interact with it the long it lasts

Decently built cable for your AirPods Max

This cable is what you’ll need to use your AirPods Max/Beats Solo Pro in wired mode. This offers way lower latency (very close 0 delay from what I can hear, the internal DSP of the headphones adds a tiny bit) and better audio quality in some cases. The cable itself is nothing impressive. Typical thin apple cable. Think of their audio dongles (like the usb-c/lightning ones) but a bit stiffer cable-wise, thinner than their charging cables. It works, it looks good. Plug one end into your AirPods Max, the other end into your audio source and it works. Overall we shouldn’t need to buy this cable to use a basic part of our very expensive headphones, but that’s apple sometimes. The cable works, not much else I can say.

Good aux cord. Apple has one year guarantee which makes me happy. My other aux cords would always stop working in 2-3 months and had no guarantee. I hope this one will last me at least a year. So far it’s good

lasted about a year, the wire begins to fray, like all apple cables. for the amount of money apple charges for a proprietary cable, you’d think they’d reinforce it, but it’s highly flimsy. be more gentle than you usually would be with this expensive cable to replace. the only OEM cable that will work with airpods max

We tried multiple brands of lightning to aux cables for the AirPod Max over ear headphones. None of them worked. The Apple ones did. I would have given 5 stars but the Best Buy associate said they didn’t have any. Went home and checked online, and the same store had them in stock! Retail needs to do better if you want us to not shop online!

Okay, I know this thing gets a lot of flack because it’s an extra cost for a flimsy wire but please hear me out. If AirPods Max sound good on their own (which they are) the wired quality of sound is PHENOMENAL! I cannot even explain to you what a difference there is in quality from Bluetooth to the cable. This thing makes AirPods Max really sing. Plain and simple, if you care about sound quality, get it! If you don’t care so much, skip it and don’t complain about its cost. It is worth every penny!

There's a ton of options for a cable like this for the most obvious use - Lighting to the Aux In on your car stereo or other 3.5mm input. However, that's not why I bought this cable. I bought this cable specifically to use with my Airpods Max to allow me to use them on commercial flights with seatback IFE (In Flight Entertainment) systems. This is a bidirectional cable, in that it will allow the Lighting connector to be the audio source and then output via the 3.5mm to output the phone audio into another source. It is also the only cable I have found that will allow the 3.5mm to be the audio source and channel that audio into the Airpods Max. I used this cable with my Airpods Max on the United 787 Dreamliner on a recent trip to Hawaii and this cable performed great. I was able to use my nice headphones to watch movies on the flight instead of leaning on the flimsy headphones provided by the airline. This cable gets knocked a star because it's not only a bit short for this application, but it is also feeling a bit flimsy. I won't use it often, but if I did, I suspect it wouldn't last long. Also, the price is ridculous. $35 for a 3.3ft cable? I realize you're paying the Apple premium, but that is a bit much. Given it's the only guaranteed option for Airpods max, I did end up buying it though.

This is a great cable to use with the 1st gen Airpods Max. There is a noticeable increase in quality when using the airpods max wired. Then there is also the advantage of being able to use the cable on flights to watch movies.

I recently purchased an apple adapter to plug my phone into my car. Prior to having an apple adapter I was using an off market cord. Ohhh man what a difference. The sound came alive. The base was deep. I highly recommend Apple products

I guess it is a must have for those who want to use airpods Max in cable mode. Sound quality is better than wireless. However, it depends on the source you connected to. Different mediums cause the Airpods Max’s amplifier to react differently. Anyway, the price tag is typical Apple tax. Always overpriced.
