Many also highlight the strong signal strength and relatively easy setup process, resulting in great coverage. However, some customers find the price to be a bit high. A few also mention that the size could be smaller and that more Ethernet ports would be beneficial.

The Apple AirPort Extreme is the most eaiset wireless wi-fi device to use. It's basically a plug and use device. You don't even need a computer to set it up. I used my iPad air to set my Air Port Extreme. Even though the price is on the HI side it is worth every penny! You can also connect 50 different devices to it. Most other wireless devices can hold only 4-8 devices. The biggest thing for me is that the wireless range is really good compared to other wireless devices.

Purchased this router to replace my previous AA Extreme, which is a few generations behind now. This thing works great on both my Mac and my wife's PC, so far. We do a lot of streaming and everything appears to work fine with 2 computers, ipads and phones on the network. The wireless range is greater than other routers I've tried, as I can access the network from outside my house. I'm not crazy about the extreme price, but it's probably worth it for hassle free set-up and operation.

I have all Apple computers in my home so it just seems logical to stick with that when shopping for a router. You can go wrong with the ease of set-up and range of signal with the AirPort Extreme. The only thing is I wish that I had done some research on the differences between the AirPort Extreme and the AirPort Time Capsule. Great product, easy set-up (takes about 3 minutes). If you have Macs or other Apple products that need wifi then this is a no-brainer!

I have setup many routers in my time and this one has been the best. My last one of the same lasted over 4 years. We have over 23 internet connected devices and it never hiccups. Setup is a breeze and once done it just works! When my old one died I thought I would try a high end nighthawk, that turned out to be a nightmare. The signal beaming and strength of this router is awesome and we have mixed apple and windows ecosystem. If you want to cut down on your headaches get this router. One less thing to worry about!

Easy set up and high speed connections make this nearly a perfect device. We have multiple devices that run off it, have connected a printer to it so I can print wirelessly from my laptop, iPad and iPhone, the smart tv and Apple TV all connect with ease; could not be happier. The only thing I don't like is the packaging; be careful when pulling the top of the box off from the bottom-my device fell out of the narrow box bottom as soon as the suction was lost (the top and bottom are air locked). Thankfully it did not seem to damage the product as all systems are go.

We picked this item up because the WiFi in our house was weak in some areas. I our last house I attempted to use a "range extender," and the results were disappointing. A friend told me the WiFi units that come from the cable companies aren't the best and to pick up this item. He was right. I now have a very strong signal everywhere in the house. The router is located in a corner on the second story, and I have no problems streaming HD movies on the far side of the house in the basement. It might be a tad pricey, but it fixed all my WiFi issues.

I replaced a failed Airport Express with this Airport Extreme Base Station in my place of work. Clients use it for browsing & email. Using the Airport Utility, the device setup was very easy. Out of the box and set up in less than five minutes. The signal is stronger (no doubt) and browsing/email for clients is great. I bought this instead of a non-Apple brand because I use Air Tunes throughout our facility and this links seamlessly to an Airport Express that is attached to our music system. This, also, was a snap to set up.

Can't get up and running with a router any easier then the Apple Airport Extreme, I actually bought it, returned it thinking I could do better with my carpy ****stream signal in rural Fla., brought home a nighthawk 3200 and after several hours of tweeking & channel changes I returned it to Best Buy and am happily streaming in every corner of my 3200sq' home with the Airport Extreme. Now I hope for atleast 3g from my IS-provider.

This is the third Apple Airport Extreme that I have purchased to round out my in home WiFi network. I have one as a main and two to extend the network. This wireless router provides excellent speed/range. Although quite pricey, I hardly have to reset the router due to signal loss. Plus, setup is a breeze if you own other Apple products.

Vert easy to install and connect wirelessly to devices with your unique assess code. Can handle my family's multiple devices ( 3 cell phones, 2 laptops, 3 pc's on wan, a wireless game console and streaming TV) literally simultaneously with no stutters. Purchased this router after my Netgear failed after only about four months. In the past, I have had them all - Linksys, Belkin, and Netgear and have all failed, and after realizing I have more Apple products than Windows and Android, I thought I'd give this one a try. I'm sure it'll play nice with my other Apple products. So far, so good! I've had it for about a week and so far, I haven't had to reset my internet equipment once, and all my content loads quickly! Thanks again, Apple!

My Family has a multitude of Apple Products (IPhones, Macs, IPads) along with Window Laptops provide by our employers. All were up in running within minutes of turning on our Apple Airport Extreme following installation of Broadband at our home in Northern MN. The router setup was extremely simple and provides exceptional coverage with multiple devices running /streaming at one time.

Very easy set up. Increased speed two fold and the range is incredible - my neighbors two houses over picked up my signal. Just be aware of the size of this router - it's HUGE. It's the size of a large brick and is heavy. Designed to stand vertically so make sure you have room. Otherwise, this is the best router on the market.

I have been using an Apple Time Capsule as my wireless router for my home. My home is quite large and the interior walls are covered with sound absorbing wallboard as well as insulated. These features limited the range of my Apple Time Capsule wifi router so I opted to put in a remote AirPort Extreme at the opposite end of the home to give my full wifi access throughout my home. The Airport Extrem was an excellent choice, I now have a well balance strong wifi signal throughout my home and outside porches. It was very easy to install as an extended router without using cables. The performance of this unit is flawless and based on my AirPort Time Capsule, which is 8 years old, I expect the same length of service from the new AirPort Extreme. I wold recommend the AirPort Extreme to my friends and family.

    Great router for Apple users

I had no idea that Apple made routers. I just got internet with Verizon/FiOS/Frontier for $30/mo with 100Mbps which is the same speed I had with Charter/Spectrum who I love but I wanted to cut a lot of costs and needed cheaper internet service for the time being. Anyways when Frontier came they installed my internet inside of my son bedroom closet, now I still get my service and my TVs run along with all of my wireless devices there is no lag but I want my bars to be full instead of lacking one. I think it’s obviously because of where it’s now located instead of my living room so I was looking for a WiFi extender. Frontier has me on an annual contract (which I don’t mind) so I won’t get charged a monthly router fee. Now had I kept my internet with Charter I was going to buy me my own router anyway, but once my year contract was up with Frontier I was going to have my own router as well. When the guy came to install my internet I asked him what routers are compatible with Frontier and he said Apple and Nighthawk. Now clearly Netgear has many Nighthawk models so which one was I supposed to choose? I dont know so I went to Apple and saw the Extreme and the Express and I felt the Extreme would be the better one to go with. The fact that it is a WiFi router as well as a WiFi extender and has a built in firewall made me choose it. Plus I saw a couple reviews that mentioned they had Charter/Spectrum or Verizon/FiOS/Frontier for internet so I made my choice because if I choose to leave Frontier and go back to Spectrum my router will be compatible plus I have an iPhone, my son has an iPhone, I have an iPad Pro, my son has an Apple Watch and I have an Apple tv streaming device connected to my Samsung tv in my living room. Apple advises that if you have Apple devices then you connect them to the Apple Extreme plus I can connect my Windows desktop and lab top computers to it as well as my Brother wireless printer as well as my Samsung and TCL Roku TVs. If you have Apple devices then this is the router you should have in your household.

I bought this because it works! Let me explain: Over the last several years, I have purchased many wireless routers. In fact, about 1 every year. I usually spend $80-$120 on them in the hopes that the next will be better than the previous one. I am tech savvy, and wanted to use dual band broadcasting so I wouldn't have network slowing if I connected an older device to my network. I was able to do this successfully, except connecting too many devices to either network would always drop the Internet from the OPPOSITE one. For example, if I connected 5 devices to my "n" network, the wireless router would drop my "b/g" network. After months or frustration and hours of tech support with no resolution, I decided it was time to replace my router AGAIN. SO, enter my new AirPort Extreme. It works. In every way that you would expect it to, and more! It is by far the strongest and most reliable router I've ever bought! It runs dual band networks SEEMLESSLY! Which means I don't have to manually set up 2 different networks and bounce between them! It is incredible! Buy it!
