I've had my iPhone 5s (32 GB/Verizon) for a little over a month. I switched from an Android phone, which I had for three years. I really like my iPhone. It is small, lightweight, sleek, fast, and has a great camera. It boots up very quickly. The camera is outstanding. The battery is pretty decent. I like Apple's included headphones and the many tasks they perform: control volume, use to make calls, make voice commands. The new iOS is pretty slick also. One of my favorite features is the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. It makes unlocking the phone very quick and easy, instead of always entering a passcode. Very cool. One of my only complaints is the call quality, specifically the microphone. Several people have mentioned it sounded like I was "talking into my arm" and I sounded far away. Through trial and error I figured out the trick was that I have to hold the phone in exactly the right position next to my face. Any distance farther away and the person on the other end had trouble hearing me. Now that I know what to do, I haven't received any complaints. Also I use the headphones or a Bluetooth fairly often. Overall, this is an excellent phone. I highly recommend it. After using Android for years, it's a breath of fresh air.

    Nice upgrade on camera

I have multiple Apple products and was looking forward to the upgrade. The 5s - 32G was a necessary upgrade for me because I was always battling to free up storage on my 4 - 16G. The 4 had also become frustratingly slow. The Good - So far I am very happy with the performance of the 5s. The phone responds quickly. I have really come to like the iOS7 upgrade. My favorite part of the phone upgrade is by far the camera. I have a small very active child and really love the burst mode to help capture good pics. Another cool thing is that Apple included its version of office apps with the new purchase. The Bad - The battery life is not so good. It struggles to make it through a full day on one charge. I have turned off all the recommended items to supposedly help extend the battery life. I would hate to see what it would be if I left all those settings in place. The phone also resets itself when I am on it at least twice a week. The last item I thought was going to be very cool was the touch ID. However, if you work with your hand allot and your finger tips always have cracks, cuts or scratches then the touch ID will not work very well. Overall the iPhone is just a better built phone then all the other plastic smartphones out there.

Upgraded from the 4S to the 5S and love the faster processor; better camera; lighter weight although it is longer than the 4S. Bigger screen and went from 3 g to LTE. Am very happy with upgrade from 16 g to 32g also.

First time iphone user, always like the quality of the device but could never get passed the screen size finally decide to give it a shot. Got my phone by luck three days after it came out at bestbuy, the phone as I expected is a great device. Will I recommended for everyone "no". Depends on your needs and wants, what I will say is the camera being Sony image sensor and lenses is amazingly fast great reproduction of colors and if you hold it the pictures won't stop until you lift you finger. My reception has not been that great don't understand why thought Verizon had better reception. The only thing getting to me in the end is the screen size but I've learned to deal with it, battery life isn't great if your a hard user but then again when in sleep it actually retains battery life very well. Finally leaving Samsung wasn't easy for me, I like the galaxy line up and with the note 3 out I felt stupid for not jumping on that, but in the end I'm happy with my decision due to the fact that the A7 chip is made by Samsung. Plus my wife got the Note 3, so we have the best of both worlds. My extreme thoughts in the end wouldn't it be crazy if they (Apple, Sony, & Samsung) got together an produce the baddest phone possible. Just a thought.

This is my 2nd iPhone. I upgraded from 4S to the new 5S. I love the larger screen, the lighter weight, LTE support, 64 bit CPU, 8MP camera and new flash, the look and feel, the quality, the ease of use, iCloud support, free iLife, free iWork, and Touch ID. "It just works!". I use the whole Apple eco-system, i.e., 27" iMac, iPad Air and iPhone 5S, Apple TV and iCloud. They all just work so well together. I was a Microsoft user from the beginning (MS DOS 1.0) and an Apple basher. Now I am a convert and will nerve go back. With free iOS, OS X, iWork, iLife and iCloud upgrades, there just isn't anything equal to the ease of use, functionality, and quality.

Clearly if you are not interested in Apple products, there is no need to read this review. For those new to the world of smart phones or contemplating the upgrade from a 4S or below, I can highly recommend this phone. The first thing I can recommend is for the speed alone. The wifi signal in our bedroom was always better on my wife's iPhone 5 than my old 4S so I was ready for the switch. I also wanted to go to a larger storage size (I would have gotten the 64GB if they had it on launch). I was impressed by Apple's presentation of the phone but the camera has to be seen to be believed. The pictures are incredibly life-like when compared to my wife's iPhone 5 and for once I find myself wanting to use the flash on a phone. The dual LED flash allows for real photo reproduction of skin tones and the rapid shot mode allows to account for my 1 year old's constant movements. In addition to the greatly improved camera, the faster chip blows away even my ipad 4th gen in regular tasks, and the Touch ID sensor makes life a lot simpler especially when busy on the move. All around the internal improvements to the phone are considerable over the iPhone 5. In summary, I was on the fence with getting a discontinued iPhone 5, or the 5c but was swayed enough by early reviews and my patient waiting for the release to spend the extra money on the 5s iPhone and I am really happy that I did. I will be able to take incredible picture of my children for years to come which is what matters to me at the end of the day and along with that I get a great device with the bevy of apps and integration in the Apple ecosystem.

I got this phone mostly because I wanted more gigs so went from 16 to 32. Gave my 4s to my husband. The 5s has great speed and I like the finger print id but it sometimes doesn't work. Maybe I don't have enough oil on my hands, I don't know. It sometimes doesn't respond to my touch commands the first time but it may be just my imagination. Takes great pictures and is very fast. I'm no geek so for me it does everything I would want it to do. I like having my music with me because my car only holds one cd at a time. I enjoy having all my pictures of my grand children at my fingertips for bragging purposes. I LIKE:)

To me, you can't go wrong with an iPhone. It's not as customizable as an android, but it's just enough to where it's not overwhelming. The interface is even more beautiful now with iOS 7. The fingerprint sensor is a nice bonus, but the speed of this phone makes it worth it. Really nice camera as well. The screen is just right for me; I prefer this size over the huge screens on some samsung, htc, etc models. One thing I think could be better is the battery life. I have taken the recommended precautions in conserving battery life (turning of location, background app refresh, etc), but it's still a bit better than my iPhone 4. Overall, love it!

The iPhone 5s is a great phone and I really like the size of the device. I wish the screen were a bit bigger and the bezel were smaller but it is still a decent size screen. Definitely get the 32GB internal storage or more if you get the device because 16GB is not enough storage given how much space iOS takes up.

What can I say, I'm an Apple girl. I loved my iPhone 4S and I love my iPhone 5s even more! It is the perfect size, is light weight, fits in my hand or pocket perfectly, has a beautiful screen, great camera options and resolution and the technology updates are perfect...exactly what I had been thinking Apple needed to add to make the phone and iOS even better and more user friendly. Not as many upgrades to the actual phone as I had expected but it's still a wonderful device. iOS 7 has a few bugs to work out, but I'm confident the fixes are in the works.

I had the iPhone 4 and liked it. The iPhone 5s is a huge improvement. It is super fast, which is great. Size and weight are good. I use this device primarily for email, internet and text. I don't use the actual phone that much, but the phone call sound quality is no better than the iPhone 4- good but not great. As with all Apple products I have owned-it is reliable- no problems. Battery life is great, iOS 7 was easy to get used to, super easy to become familiar with. I would give it 2 thumbs up!

I was a die-hard Android user since getting the OG Motorola DROID in November of 2009. Since then, I've had the HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and Samsung Galaxy S4, as well as multiple tablets, running both Android and iOS (iPad 1, Asus Transformer Prime, Samsung Nexus 10, Asus Nexus 7 both generations). I started to get sick of just not being happy with certain aspects of each of my Android phones. Once iOS 7 came out, I became more interested in the iPhone. Playing with my friend's iPad 2 and seeing how nicely everything ran convinced me I'd be happier with iOS devices in the long run. iOS was fresh and new looking again, this time with a bunch of features that were keeping me on Android devices - Google apps (including the recently added iOS version of Google Play Music, which I was unwilling to give up), quick access to settings, and the drop-down notification bar (which, yes, was added in previous iOS versions). Also, no more skeuomorphism! I've since switched to the 5S and LOVE IT! I haven't regretted it for a second. The lack of removable battery suddenly doesn't matter when this thing easily powers through a whole day and charges up quickly when needed. The build quality is second to none - no more creaking plastic. No more AMOLED screens that are impossible to see in the sun and then decompose in a matter of months. The display is gorgeous, and TouchID is a nice touch. The camera is fantastic - maybe outshined by the S4's camera in certain well-lit situations and where more pixels are needed for really fine detail, but overall I like the 5S camera as much or better. The lightning cable is a great addition - no more fumbling in the dark to see if I'm plugging my phone in correctly when I go to bed. This thing handles music-making apps and graphics-intensive games with ease. It'll take a lot to get me to ever switch back - at least as far as phones are concerned.

Phone size is perfect, I was worried about it being to small but operation using one hand is great. I have an iPad if I want a bigger screen. Battery life is good, not great like my Droid Razr Maxx. iOS is very smooth, camera is still one of the best.

The 5s is another great iPhone. It lives up to the quality of prior models. Coming from a 4s, I appreciate the larger screen more than I thought I would. I really like the finger print unlock. Its very handy once you get use to it. The phone doesn't have any radical changes even from my 4S, but I still consider the incremental improvements (fast processor, bigger screen, better camera) to be great. And I like IOS7 alot. Its a very polished user experience.

I had an Iphone 4, and it was 2 years old...time to upgrade. I saw the iphone 5s, and i liked that the picture quality improved over the 4, and i wanted faster speed and more memory. I can say the best feature of the phone is using your fingerprint for unlocking your phone. Its quick and easy, and i love it. Overall very happy with my iphone and the service/deal i got at best buy.

Overall, of all the smartphones that I've used -- many Androids and even Windows Phones -- the iPhone 5s is the best all-around phone. I'm not saying that it's the best camera phone, that'd be the Lumia 1020 or maybe the new Galaxy S5, but the camera is better than most phones that I've tried. The call quality is great and all of my friends and family immediately noticed the difference coming from an HTC. iOS is restrictive compared to Android but the east-of-use is second to none. Perhaps the most enjoyable differentiator is the huge accessory market! Samsung is likely second here and it's not even close. I will conclude by saying that the screen size may be an issue for some people. I'm a medium-large person at 6'2" and 200lbs, and I find the phone smaller than what I'd consider optimal. You get used to it and the smaller size is great for carrying in the front pocket of jeans. If you don't think the size is an issue, this phone is a good choice.

The iPhone 5S is a solid update to the iPhone 5. The speed difference in processing is substantial, its just fast. Unfortunately I do not take as many photos as most people do with their phones but I have noticed the quality is better than the iPhone 5, primarily the photos don't come out blurry or streaked like in older models. The TouchID is nice, but you still have to login after each restart and it functions more as a gimmick rather than a functional feature.

So I grabbed an iPhone 5s because I had apple iPhones from the start. First let me tell you, iphone is for people who like good simple high quality products. If you're debating on whether to get an android or an iphone, ask yourself this... Do I want a phone that works great with my computer on managing my music, photos, and apps? Do I want a phone that has a sleek design; fits great in the hand and can be used with one hand, has a a lot of apps that are unique to the phone and not some upscaled mobile app? A phone that will last a good four years incase I can't afford an upgrade or just want to save some money? If you said yes to these then you'll want to pick up an iphone. Because you can use it for, pretty much, anything you can think of. I'm an after school tutor and I use my phone for everything. From using it as a calculated from using the app that helps me make quizzes and project them on the big screen so the whole class can partake. An android phone can do some of this as well, but not as simple as an iphone. Androids require third party apps or installing programs that will just kill your battery and take up your storage. I can go on for pages but the choice is easy. Get an iphone and learn to use it. You will find out it's way better than an android. You can even ask people who have an android. Why did you get the android instead of an apple? They will always answer, "because it has a bigger screen." You ask why did you get an apple instead of an android? They will always answer "because it's simple to use, works well with my computer and does what I need for my job. And it looks cool." That's the only reason why people buy androids. Because of the screen size. Not performance. Get iPhone 5s. You won't regret it.
