I use this adapter to connect my Blue Yeti microphone to my iPad 4. I tried everything to avoid the $30 price tag. The good news is that it works. The unit is more sophisticated than I imagined.

Fast and efficient for the transfer of image and video data. Easy to use, just connect your camera to the device, then to the cell phone and the response is immediate.

Although phone photos are great, and becoming even better, I still like to use my Canon EOS with it's macro, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses to be able to control the shots and get into more detail. This clever little USB adapter allows me to plug in my compact flash reader and copy the photos I want onto my IPad. From there, I can easily send them to friends without having to wait until I get back home and have access to my desktop. Small and very handy tool. A smart purchase.

I purchased this adapter because I needed to connect the microphone only from a zoom Q2N musician camera to stream live on facebook but without using the poor audio quality of the phone. It did the purpose and I got a crystal clear audio of my band playing live while using the phone's camera to get the video.

USB adapter ideal for connecting midi

I use this USB adapter to connect to my Casio 88 key electric piano to do lessons online. It works with the Playground Sessions iOS app and many other music apps just fine. I would recommend the Apple brand version because off brands don't always work. Also your midi over USB keyboard should be self powered otherwise it will not likely have enough juice to power it. Other than that - Great purchase.

USB port it is not

This adapter does just what it says,"camera USB adapter", no more. The Lightening port does not have the capability of powering anything. It will allow you to connect a camera to the tablet through your camera's USB cable because the camera is self powered. It will not allow data transfer from any device that is powered through the USB port. I thought that I could plug in a card reader to read my camera cards. No such luck, if you want to do that, buy the card reader adapter. Thumb drive memory sticks won't work either because they take power to operate. I have seen powered USB extensions that may work but have not tried one yet. I just wish Apple had made provisions to plug in any USB device, Kind of takes the "U" out of USB.

This product works exactly as expected. It is however priced ridiculously expensive for such a simple piece of wiring. But if you need this particular kind of connection they have you over a barrel.

With the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, it's easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad with Retina display or iPad mini, so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.
After you connect the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organizes them into albums. When you sync iPad to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library.
The Lightning to USB Camera Adapter supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4.

iPhone Essential for AudioQuest Dragonfly

I had recently purchased the AudioQuest Dragonfly (Red) for my high-end headphones for use with iPhone, iPad & iPods. (If you are using a MacBook, or PC then this item is not pertinent for the use of the AudioQuest Dragonfly.) So the reason your required to purchase this iPhone camera adapter is because in the instruction manual for the AudioQuest Dragonfly it states that the normal iPhone usb connection chord is useable, however it states that after extensive testing by AudioQuest that if you want the best results when using the Dragonfly with an iPhone then it's pertinent to use the iPhone lightning usb camera cable. This cable is simple & easy to use regarding the AudioQuest Dragonfly and if you so choose it also has the ability to be used with digital cameras. It's a well made piece of equipment. My only issue would be the price-point, but it's made by Apple so its high end & just comes with the territory.

The adapter worked great, used it to connect a midi keyboard to my iPhone 6. Worked perfectly. It was a little pricey, but hey, it's Apple.
