<3 (Love This!) I traded in my Mac Mini M2 for this new Mac Mini M4. It is an easy decision since I am already set up with double screens and everything I need for a Mac Mini - on a standing desk for my home office. Back when I first began using computers I was one of those who was ALWAYS an early adopter. After a while, computer technology has advanced so much - that for the most part, most can do well buy buying refurbished items instead of buying the newest-latest-greatest. This is an exception. The improvement provided by the combination of the M4 chip and the new minimum 16GB RAM is STELLAR!!! It's so small to be so powerful! And the price for this is great if you work at home or use a desktop computer. I could see companies small and large installing these small Mac Mini's in offices for their employees. It's close to 1/4 the size of the Mac Mini I'm replacing. The ports front and back are a plus, and useful for me since I also use a hub for expansion of the ports. Everything I've had before with my Mac Mini M2 works perfectly with the M4. The trade in value, plus Best Buy's $50 BLACK FRIDAY discount allowed me to step up to this model over the baseline model, and really fueled my decision to buy it from Best Buy and to buy it NOW. I'm also a MY BEST BUY TOTAL member, so the added free additional year of warranty included in the membership is one of the reasons I always check at BEST BUY first before making any tech or appliance purchase decisions. It always is a great benefit that outweighs the cost of the yearly "TOTAL" membership!!! I have a lot of peripherals. Two 24 inch screens, a CD/DVD player and expand connections with hubs designed for compatibility with the ports on most Mac Minis. I recently purchased a 1TB mini SD card to use specifically for storing videos - again at a deal price for the terabyte SD card due to an offer for My Best Buy Total members. --FIRST: The speed with the M4 and a 24GB processor is FAST! Moving forward the decision made by Apple to eliminate 8GB processors is great. (Last summer, I purchased a refurbished PC for my mother - from Best Buy - and specifically had criteria that it must have at least 16GB RAM and an ethernet port to replace her 8 RAM excruciatingly slower PC - so that I could plug her laptop directly into the mesh routers with Ethernet. THIS MAKES A DIFFERENCE NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. No more 8GB processors! ) --TWO: I also upgraded to the Magic Keyboard with Touch Key! I am PASSWORD WEARY so the touch keyboard was 'a must' even before this new M4 Mac Mini came out. I purchased the keyboard (an "open box" item at Best Buy) before considering the M4, but literally the day after I received the keyboard, I read the announcement about the upcoming release of this new Mac Mini! I'm just a few days into using this new keyboard. Yes.It's.LIT!!! GREAT DECISION. If you don't have the Touch Keyboard, yet, you should! I'm enrolled in classes for AI certification so the timing of this new release is perfect for my studies in this. I already recommended the new M4 to my classmates! Like many people I did some decent upgrades for a home office during the pandemic for the "working from home" life we had to get accustomed to in those years. I have NO issues with the M4 Mac Mini. I'm finding it to be smoother and faster than my M2 Mac Mini and EXCEEDINGLY faster than my much older MacBook Pro. I handled the migration from my old Mac Mini to the new one by myself, using an Ethernet Cable to connect both Mac Mini's. The transfer took much less time than I expected! I really appreciate finding the suggestion to do the migration with the use of an ethernet cable between the two. My friends consider me a "techie". My other items include an iPad Air with WiFi + Cellular, also purchased at Best Buy, and an iPhone 12 mini. I have a 10 year old Macbook Pro. It was due for an upgrade a few years ago but the timing for me was affected by the introduction of the M1 chip by Apple. I hesitated to upgrade when the M1 came out. I'm not fond of buying into brand new technology made by anyone - so I waited. And waited. My work life has changed with less travel/mobility, so the Macbook upgrade hasn't been a priority. For now at least, the iPad Air I own is enough. My mother currently has the HP PC I purchased for her from Best Buy. I also purchased an HP Chromebook - again at Best Buy and again on one of those great sales I get notified for by being a Total Prime member. I selected an HP Chromebook on a Best Buy flash half price sale, when I began taking AI classes so that I could keep that information isolated from my Mac/Apple system and away from my mother's PC - JUST IN CASE to be safe from things I don't understand. As my understanding about AI grows I now use it across my devices. In general as far as "use" goes I don't have preferences by platform except for this -- I absolutely love the "connections" that exist with Apple devices. I love the FIND MY capabilities, and Apple's constant innovations. The M4 is an exciting upgrade and added to the new minimum RAM speed these are the best improvements made by any company recently. The quality of the build of the device, it's special new features and new capabilities, combined with its affordability is why I love this new Mac Mini. It's a great value! With it's small size one could *almost* make this a portable device. I'd recommend this!

This is my first Mac mini. I have always used Mac laptops. The cost savings with this option especially including 24 GB of RAM is great. The one complaint that I have is that the power button is on the bottom, so you need to lift the Mac mini slightly to turn it on, but that is a minor issue. Overall I am very happy with this computer.

Quite and invisible tiny mini computer. It's as if it's not even on my desk. Only way to know it is there is by the tiny little power light indicator which I must is kinda bright. Nice to have some located usbc connection on the front of the Mac mini. Power button is on the bottom in the back, but I almost never turn off and on my Mac's so it really not a deal. Plenty of ports on the back as well. Plenty of power for every day tasks and some photo, video and production work as well, especially for under a grand. M4 with 24gb RAM (unified memory) and 512gb storage is more than enough for none paid professional work and honestly even that to some degree with an additional external storage. Highly recommend!

Amazing performance in such a compact form factor. In typical Apple fashion, pricing structure is anything but bang for your buck. Get the most RAM you can afford and get peripheral storage. After market display to keep cost down.

The facts: The value of a good-performing machine that uses all of the processor cores is not purchaseable in the Windows world. The processing power of a Mac is unparalleled for the home user. And, for this reason one expects to pay top dollar for a Mac. In fact, the idea of an affordable Mac is often scoffed at. That is why I could not resist the purchase of a Mac mini. It is the sweet combination of price and value that made this purchase irresistible.

My Mac Mini is very introverted as I never once heard the fans kick on. It's the perfect computer for me for voice over as I never have to worry about the fans noise cutting into my recordings. - Size = WOW, this thing is SMALL. In terms of product dimensions, you'd sometimes have to get a magnifying glass for this thing because it occupies such a small space. It's a desktop, it's smaller than most laptops. On that note, you could easily throw this computer into your bag, bring a USB/HDMI dongle, and plug it into an external portable monitor along with a keyboard and you now have the same capability as a laptop. - Power = Powerful (for what I need) which is watching videos on YouTube at 4K. light editing of videos (Premiere Pro) and audio files (Audacity) for my acting and VO business, and shopping. Yeah, these tasks aren't too CPU intensive, but when running a bunch of tasks/tabs at once, I've never once had a slowdown. - Price: We're gonna ignore the internal storage matter for now (see below in Cons), but this thing has a blazing fast CPU, 16 GB of memory, a ridiculously small form factor, and a very reasonably priced Apple Care plan that you can buy separately. This computer is everything that most people will need for their everyday tasks. Would be a perfect computer for a college student or just someone like me who likes to have completely a completely overpowered machine to write a 500 word essay. - Quality: Despite it's small form factor, build quality of the Mac Mini is phenomenal and feels like it last a long time.

Owned it for a few months now. It's faster than my M1 Studio and handles all weird perusing and data tasks well. I also run Windows 11 via Parallels and had no isuues. Only thing i don't like is the placent of the power button, but i only touch that once a day. Highly recommended!

Apple, as always, designs spectacular products. The performance of the M4 processor is spectacular. I bought it with 24MB of RAM. This is important because of the changes in the new operating systems that are coming out. You can always have great performance for a long time. The 24-month credit option from Bestbuy allowed me to buy a computer with more RAM and I pay for it monthly.

The latest Mac Mini with the M4 and M4 Pro chips is an absolute powerhouse in an unbelievably compact design. Apple has once again pushed the boundaries of performance and efficiency, delivering blistering speeds with its 10-core CPU and GPU while maintaining whisper-quiet operation. The sleek, reduced 5x5-inch footprint makes it perfect for any workspace, and the addition of front-facing USB-C ports adds much-needed convenience. Whether you're a creative professional, a developer, or just someone who appreciates top-tier technology, the Mac Mini delivers desktop-class power with unmatched versatility. At its price point, it’s easily one of the best value computers on the market today, proving that small can still be mighty.

I was hesitant to buy it because it implies a higher cost for the system (computer + display + keyboard) but I can say it was totally worth it. My 24GB M4 is fast, had zero issues (at least so far) and it works perfectly with the monitor and any device I plug in. The unit itself is so small and light, you can actually travel with it if you need to. The fan inside makes zero noise, I never hear it. If anything to wish for, I think they needed to have it standard with at least 1T of memory (mine is 512GB), as you end up buying also an external storage. There are 5 USB C plugs, 2 on the front and 3 on the back, I find it sufficient.I bought a Studio Display, a large Apple keyboard (black keys) and a white Logitech bluetooth 3S mouse, and I strongly recommend this combination.

I thought my conversion from stodgy desktop to agile laptop was a one way street but the Mac Mini completely flips the script on what it means to be a ‘stationary’ computer. At just over 600g and a footprint barely bigger than a beer coaster, I had a hard time believing the powerhouse computer I was eagerly expecting could really be packed into the minimalist unibody that arrived, and it hadn’t been stolen and swapped out for an empty box. But if seeing isn’t enough for believing, youll have to add hearing too, but what can you hear? Nothing! Even when throwing a 50 feed video conference, independent screen recording, (literally) hundreds of browser tabs and airplaying to an old intel macbook for an additional screen, this Mac Mini, this machine, didn’t even break a sweat and was only audible with my ear right next to the exhaust. Does it have its weaknesses compared to a laptop? Sure. Would it be great if it could come with magic mouse or keyboard and inbuilt microphone orTouch ID? Absolutsly. But you look at base models and you’ll soon see: MacBook Air? Twice the price. Macbook Pro? *TRIPLE.* So now think about how much youll have saved to get the mouse (or trackpad), keyboard and other accessories you really want. On mini desktops, Apple may have thrown the gauntlet, but it’s pribably going to float gently down.

A few weeks into my experience with it (specs: M4, 512GB internal SSD, 24GB memory), overall a great desktop computer and very happy with the purchase. I would like to give it more than 4 stars, but I don't think it earns a full 5 stars. Some observations: > ethernet-based data transfer/migration from previous Intel-based Mac mini with a 10GB ethernet port seemed slow; had expected it to be much quicker > otherwise, migration worked as expected > while there was significant performance improvement across most applications in previous desktop, not all saw this (e.g. not much perceived with MS apps) > I would have preferred the audio jack to be in the back to connect to exterior speakers > appreciate the two USB-C ports in the front but would have liked to see at least an additional USB-A port in the back > setting up Time Machine with external SanDisk SSD was problematic (formatting failure a couple of times, but eventually worked ok); periodically, I still get an error/failure message on backups (setup for daily) > occasionally, wired keyboard (from Macally) doesn't register first key press as if it had gone to sleep; this never happened with previous Mac mini > as (almost) always, excellent Apple customer service support > surprisingly, runs much cooler than previous Mac mini > price-wise, the incremental costs for the internal SSD and memory upgrades frankly almost seem onerous, particularly when compared to options for other competing desktops

For my first time actually having a home setup I am really glad I went with this Mac mini. It is perfect for what I am doing (mainly school and work). I do not know if I would go any higher with the SSD only because you would be able to add a seperate portable SSD to it and give it more. I would recommend this to anyone who is into getting apple products and loved how easy it was to transfer everything over from my laptop.
