Love Everything About My Mac

This is the first really high and notebook that I’ve ever owned. I’ve always wanted a Mac and has a design student thought it was time that I got one. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with it. The display is super clean in the keys feel really nice. The little touch bar at the top of the keyboard is awesome and very useful. The only thing I can say that I don’t like about this is that it comes with type C USB ports. Unfortunately all of my devices including my mouse, Wacom tablet, and midi keyboard would not work without me having to purchase a adapter. Which you can get online for about 20 bucks or just go to Walmart and get one. I got an Anker one. And it works great and at a fraction of the Apple version’s price. Other than that I am loving it and it has been such a huge help with my IT and graphic design courses. It’s worth the money.

Great computer, very powerful and easy to use, but if you are converting from an old Mac Book Pro, you will need to set aside another $200 for adapters and cables so you can use older external devices that do not use USB 3 connections.

This new 15” MacBook Pro is a beautiful piece of machinery but simply overpriced for what it offers. The mousepad is unnecessarily too large and the deletion of multiple media card ports, really is disappointing. I do love the look and feel of it, nonetheless.

I can't think of anything I don't like about this computer. The screen is bright with very black blacks and vivid colors. It is super fast! Keyboard action is excellent. The whole computer is not heavy. The battery lasts the entire day. Charging is super quick - from 30 to 90 percent charge in what seems just a few minutes. The whole unit feels solid. I like how close the screen gets to the edges - way closer than earlier MacBook Pros I've owned. And, I actually use the Touch Bar. A lot. It's faster than typing at times. One last bonus: If you wear an Apple Watch (mine is a 4) the computer unlocks when you wake it without entering a password or using the Touch Bar as long as you're logged in and have used the computer within the past couple of days. I could go on but I'm close to barfing for sounding like such a fan boy ;-) Seriously, this is an awesome machine and well worth the money in my opinion...

Previous to this new MacBook Pro I had a 2011 MacBook Pro and 21” Mac, both appeared fast enough. I was so wrong once I started using my new MacBook Pro. I never realized how slow those had become. When opening applications, they are just there. It’s simply amazing. Recently I went through my old 13” laptop to clean things up so it could be used for another purpose, it was so slow and took so long, I could not go back. At first I thought the 15” MacBook Pro would be too large since my other was a 13”. I love it and wonder why I didn’t do this the first time.
Besides running my normal programs I beta test software and one item in particular used to take an hour plus to perform. Now it takes four minutes. I’ve also noticed remote access with my iMac is absolutely flawless and just works every time, something my older laptop simply would not do.
I’ve heard users complain about the Touch Bar and accidentally hitting it but if you are used to typing, that is not a problem. Originally I was not going to get the Touch Bar, but after using it, I like it and am getting more used to it. Eventually I’ll customize it for various needs. The best part is being able to use Touch ID to log in, instead of my passcode. That and being able to use Siri to open folders, etc. for me as opposed to clicking. It’s so much faster and can be accomplished with “Hey Siri” , click the menu bar, the Siri app, or my preference, from the Touch Bar.
In beta testing the only unexpected caveat was due to Apple’s new APFS file structure. It does not allow for third party file recovery or booting from external hard drives. Booting into Recovery Mode will allow you to designate an external hard drive as start up but it’s no longer a simple matter of holding down the option key. As for file recovery, that’s never been a concern of mine since I constantly maintain two different backups, one is Time Machine the other a clone. This is something I’ve done since my first HD20 became corrupt years ago and my dealer said he could repair it. He did, by erasing the entire drive.
If it hadn’t been for my wife secretly getting this for me, I would have procrastinated longer. Bottom line, why in the world did I wait so long?

Okay so this review is coming from a windows and android fan.
I am a future student. After hearing so many recommendations for mac books. I went to best buy to take a look for my self. I ended up going on a limb and buying one with the best buy visa I opened up that same day...
Its been a few days and I LOVE MY NEW MAC BOOK PRO! SO FAST, I can personalize the touch bar to my needs. The sleek light design will be perfect for school. This laptop comes with all the bells and whistles. If you are a student, I highly recommend checking these out! I was a little worried about the price tag but after using it for a few days. I have no regrets!!!! Hope this helps!! BEST LAPTOP IVE EVER OWNED.

I bought this computer to eliminate the headaches of multitasking between an iPad and an out-of-date notebook PC on a notoriously slow internet connection. At first glance, it’s very sleek and appears to be ahead of it’s time compared to most new models of other brands. The price made me hesitant, although after 2 months of use I’ve noticed that it can tackle everything I need and more. I’ve come to realize that by purchasing this device, you are really paying for super ease of use and having a computer that can start up and get right to the task in seconds. I keep 10+ tabs open and play music without ever feeling like it’s working too hard. The speakers are amazing! There are four thunderbolt ports, so no matter where my charger is I can plug it in on either side without worrying about stressing the cables. Originally I was going for the model without the touchbar because I did not see myself using it (no touch bar is not available on 15in model). However, as I take a lot of screenshots for studying, having the button always in plain sight has saved me lots of time and fumbling in the menu. The track pad is massive! I can crop an entire page without the need to release a finger. Speed, build quality, speaker quality, reliability, and seemless connection with other apple devices truly reassures me that I wouldn’t rather have saved up for another computer.

My MacBook Pro 2010 went bust so decided it was time for an upgrade. The new line of macbook's just came out this summer and wanted the larger screen which is really nice. One of the first things I did out of the box was watch Black Panther and was very pleased with the speakers on this computer. If you're say watching from your desk or on your bed you can turn up the volume and get a very good sound experience on top of the high quality display. The macbook itself isn't that heavy despite being the larger 15 inch screen. While I wish they offered the 15 inch version without the Touch Bar I am getting used to it and am finding it pretty neat to use.

This is the first Mac I've ever owned and it is one of the best purchases I've ever made. So much smoother and faster than a PC. Yes, it is more expensive, but so far I think the money was worth it.
PROS:
- Fast
- Light for the specs
- Has great connectivity with other Apple devices
- Can run Windows if you have to
- Touch Bar/ID
- Screen resolution is great
- Ready to go right out of the box
- Battery life has been around 10-12 hours so far
CONS:
- 4 thunderbolt ports means you will need adapters
- Pricey
- Needs additional protection (case, keyboard cover, etc.)
- Charger is kind of bulky
- Not a full touchscreen

POWERHOUSE

This computer is just a powerhouse. It's thin, sleek, modern, and all the other wonderful adjectives you could appropriately conjure up for an inanimate object. In all seriousness, the 6 cores make multi-tasking a breeze (the bane of existence for all creatives), and the display does not disappoint. Get over your irrational fear of not having access to a USB port and buy the $20 adapter... USB-C (thunderbolt) is so much faster, and it makes charging this computer so simple. Speaking of thunderbolts, in terms of performance, this computer is lightning quick. The processor has a nasty turbo boost, and even while running photoshop, lightroom, logic, and 3 web browser windows, i experience no delay whatsoever. IT IS UNREAL. This computer cannot disappoint you. As a full time professional musician and photographer, i HIGHLY recommend this laptop to anyone in the creative realm.

My favorite MBP yet!

I migrated from a Late 2016 MacBook Pro 13" to this in December, and could not be happier. It's faster, more powerful and has a better display than my previous MBP. The trackpad is an absolute beast on this laptop and is a pleasure to use. The Touch Bar will take some getting use to, however, the integrated Touch ID sensor works flawlessly.
Just going to say it now, you WILL need a dongle. If you've got a ton of stuff that uses older connectors, any one of a number of innovative port expanders/docks/hubs will let you hook everything you need to your MBP with a single cable, and (with the right dock) it'll even charge it simultaneously!
It blows my mind that the people who griped about how easy magsafe was to yank loose are now griping about it being gone. It was ANNOYING. Now you can use any of the ports for charging, and the USB-C connector doesn't have an "up side". It's super-simple to reconnect it any time you want, and it won't pop free every time you shift in your seat!
The keyboard takes some getting used to but it is more precise than the previous version. I hit keys, it puts letters on the screen, that's fine for me. I've had this laptop as my daily driver for about a month now and battery life has been nothing short of amazing.
The last thing I want to touch on is the speakers. Now I'm not sure if the improvement is to be expected coming from a 13" to 15" but man do these speakers on this new MBP sound amazing! Honestly, I actually enjoy listening to the speakers on this laptop as before I would connect my AirPods and listen to my media that way.
Overall I could not find anything worth noting that was bad about this device, everything works as it should. Of course we all cringe at the thought of spending the amount of money Apple charges for their laptops or all of their products for that matter. However, I can honestly say that I've never owned an Apple product that didn't live up to their high expectations.

Well built, great speakers, color accurate retina display, good battery life, great trackpad, fast Touch ID, slim and light for a 15.4" screen, powerful and silent. Mac OS is stable as usual and intuitive to use. Touch Bar comes in handy during typing and web browsing. Charging is convenient because of versatile use C ports on both sides.
No keyboard issues yet, use of a keyboard cover suggested during use. Low key travel; justified for thinness, mediocre 720p webcam.
