I have tried numerous countertop water filters, and Aquasana's Claryum (AQ-4000) is easily the top filtration system. The filters for AQ-4000 are NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401 certified up to 450 gallons! You can view the specs at nsf.org. Some companies mention they are NSF certified, yet their products are not listed on the NSF website (oddly enough). Beyond the NSF certifications, the water tastes crisp and pure; very similar to bottled water IMO. I've had other countertop units which made the water texture "crisp" initially, but after a few weeks of normal use, the water tasted slimy in texture. I am 2 months in with this unit and the water's texture is as crisp as the day I installed it. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it. I will make one important note: this unit only pumps out 0.5 gallons of water per minute, and not an ounce more. This is purposeful since the water's contact time with the filters is what makes these filters so good at filtering. So, be prepared for a slow experience, but understand the water is being filtered properly at that GPM rate.
