Mounting it was super easily (once I found a spot that wasn't a dead zone). Setting it up is like any other camera, very easy. The day time video quality is great. The night vision is not as good, but still pretty good; better than my essential spotlight cameras. The light is very impressive.

Easy to sync to the Wi-Fi network and easy to configure with the arlo app. I bought a compatible solar panel because I hung it high in a tree. This is the second unit like this I’ve installed and I’m impressed with the wide picture and the quality of the picture.

I love this floodlight in my driveway. My neighbors said when they are out at night it lights up nice. My neighbors across the street said the light is not bothering them at all like my other neighbor’s fright flood light that seems to go on and stay on forever. I bought this camera because my nextdoor neighbor had their car stolen. I felt so bad that my smaller cameras didn’t see the whole street. Now I have caught someone at 4: am looking through mailboxes and straight into the camera when the flood light went on at my house. I sent it out to the Nextdoor app and people were so surprised I got such a good picture and they asked about my camera. It’s well worth the cost. I also bought the magnet charger which works great and makes the light even brighter, if that’s what you want.

This camera has excellent 2k quality and a surprisingly bright spotlight. It also has amazing battery life. I bought this for surveillance purposes and it paid off immediately. I was wondering why my squirrel-proof bird feeder was emptying so quickly. I mounted this camera, which is the 9th Arlo camera in my collection (5 Pro 2s, 2 Ultras, 1 indoor, and now a floodlight camera) to the side of my deck, and literally caught the culprit on video the very first night. See the picture. I highly recommend this product.

This Arlo pro 3 Floodlight is extremely clear. Very impressed with the picture quality. You even have the ability to zoom in on your video feed. Packaging was very nice and all the pieces felt very secure during unboxing. I liked how it came with a charging cable and brick. There are very little paper instructions as they direct you to the digital versions on their website or from within the app. There are also helpful install videos. The mounting for camera is very simple. 3 securing screws for the bracket then just twist and lock the camera in. The camera can then be angled in almost any direction you need. The camera has an LED status indicator light which you can actually toggle on or off. The flood light itself is very bright at max. You can then further adjust brightness to your liking from within the app. Other features include recordable audio as well as being able to speak directly through the camera. This will be nice in case you need to communicate with anyone remotely. Wireless setup was very straightforward and I synched the camera to the Arlo app on the first try. Very nice all around package for a security camera.

This new Arlo camera and light combo is incredible. It was easy to install and I bought the solar panel so I don't have to worry about changing or charging the battery. The picture is very clear and you can set it up to zoom in on movement. I have the Arlo Pro 4 camera system and the new camera security light interfaces very nice.

Terrific monitoring equipment with a few drawbacks

Overall a pretty good main security camera for the front section of the property, not too overly-sensitive picking up unnecessary stuff and one is able to zone-in and off areas in the camera's FOV to pick-up activities. It's super easy to setup too provided one has the right proper tools. I like how one can essentially customize so many functionalities depending on someone's living area/neighborhood aka if you live in a generally safe area then most "too-obvious-to-notice" functionalities may be turned off or limited such as the super bright floodlight (at its highest, plugged in setting) and setting it not to trigger the siren. A few drawbacks do exist as follow: 1)our camera puts out static and sometimes scratching noise when wi-fi becomes a little spotty (we live in a 2,000 sq ft house where the routers are located up on the 2nd floor) albeit recorded actions thankfully do not pick-up much of the audio distortions; Arlo customer rep said that it happens if wi-fi router is more than 20 or so ft away and/or wi-fi becomes spotty; our router is indeed about maybe 50 ft away and up on the 2nd floor; 2)the camera's design, while futuristic and almost cute cartoon character-like in appearance, proves to be a head-turner for some neighbors which means that any bad guys would probably spot it fairly easily; 3)another is that it randomly goes offline during evening hours for a few minutes, one time it happened only for it to do firmware update. More benefits do exist though beyond the above mentioned drawbacks and it's wise to invest on not-too-expensive surveillance equipment such as Arlo's. I was impressed enough that I got an Arlo Essential Spotlight Cam for our backyard and hooked it up to an Arlo solar panel for continuous hands-free power source. This floodlight camera consumes more power for obvious reasons (floodlight, 2K video, IR mode) and 100% battery lasts for about 5-7 days but it's not a problem for us as I went and bought the Arlo 25 ft mag power cord/charger and faux "hard-wired" the thing for easy charging and power management. Now managing Arlo cameras and viewing clips/streaming live feed is fairly easy and one can do it in the Arlo app which works fine and dandy and easy to understand for both the iOS and Android versions. One can also manage the cameras online using Arlo dashboard on an online computer for those not too keen on using smartphones but this comes with a warning as the Arlo dashboard online streaming function barely works half of the time which makes me feel like streaming is more optimized for mobile devices than on an actual computer. One can use an Arlo home base kit with memory card to instantly save captured moments or one can subscribe monthly to different tiers of Arlo service to manage more functionalities and temporary cloud storage for captured moments for those like me who don't like the hassle of managing a home base and memory cards. Cloud storage stores captured moments for 30 days or so and I can just go back and/or instantly save to my phone and/or computer the very important video clips within the cloud time period before they get deleted. Now people will ask...how is the picture quality? Well, it all depends yet again on the reliability/strength/distance from the wi-fi internet source and the internet traffic in the general area. For the most part, this 2K camera do not output heavily-pixelated images and images look fairly good, better than a 1080p image for sure, but won't be like in action movies where they enhance or de-enhance images down to the last visible atom in an image. For our intent and purposes, having an "eye outside" is good enough to monitor the goings-on and help with identifying persons and things if suspicious things come up. Long-term weather-related performance will be a challenge for me to know right now as we've only had this for a few weeks and also, we live in a 'burb 10 miles from the heart of downtown LA meaning this camera is in SoCal and we hardly if at all get rain over here. So far though, it's gone through the season's super heat waves and worked just fine. To conclude, this floodlight camera comes highly recommended for home-use, maybe also for small businesses on small properties/locations. Good luck on your shopping around for security cameras.

I have been using Arlo cameras for years. We decided that we wanted to get a second floodlight for our house. It was super easy to set up with our base station and was easy to install and mount it. I highly recommend. It catches motion, noise, and fully lights up the area that you have it set up at.

    Arlo Floodlight review!

I purchased the Arlo pro with floodlight for my front yard to be able to watch my puppy do his business; the camera and lights alone are insufficient unless you have a small yard. I needed to purchase additional floodlight ( 2 - 350 watt) in order to adequately illuminate my front yard. I also needed to purchase 2 additional Arlo pro cameras to accomplish my goal. It’s important to note that the Arlo pro - Ultra cameras **** night vision*** works better than the Camera with the floodlights. Once I had all 3 cameras up I realized that the best combination is 2 Arlo Pro + high intensity floodlights. It’s also important to note that the zoom is limited especially at night.

Initial set up and installation was fairly quick and easy. Once the app was downloaded, the directions given through the app were clear and easy to follow. The app itself is user friendly, easy to learn, and easy to navigate through. I really appreciate that if you select the siren to sound, a second window pops up to confirm so before sounding it. There are many features and setting options within the app, and it really allows for each user to set up the camera to their specific preferences. The first feature I set up through the app was the activity zone for the motion sensor. I have my floodlight camera mounted on the garage to overlook the driveway. Initially I set the activity zone to be too close to the street and it was picking up EVERY single car that passed by – which resulted in a phone notification every time. I had to adjust this zone setting several times and ended up limiting the zone to basically the length of a parked car, but, sometimes, passing cars (on my side of the street only) still trigger the motion sensor. The other issue I have with the activity zone is that for some reason, the car parked furthest away from the camera creates a “blind spot” for the motion sensor, on the side furthest from the camera. This is a problem for two reasons: First, this side happens to be the driver’s side of the vehicle so if theft were to occur, it’s possible the camera would miss it. Second, this is how a person walks up to our front door, so most of that motion occurrence is also missed by the camera. Oddly enough, the camera picks up the motion right after walking past the nose of the car, but unfortunately the view of the person is quickly blocked as they walk past the front of the garage. I currently have the camera mounted one side of the garage to look out (diagonally) across the driveway and our front yard. It’s possible that if I mounted the camera to be centered over the driveway, this “blind spot” would be resolved, but to me, it shouldn’t resort to that considering how wide I have the activity zone set at. Other than the couple inaccuracies with the set activity zone, the camera works very well. The video is high quality and provides great images. There is a reduction in video quality with limited lighting, but the flood light on the camera is excellent in providing light to improve it. In addition, with enough light present – either our garage sconce lights or the camera’s flood light – the nighttime video is still in color. If there is not enough light present, the video is in black and white, but the quality is excellent considering the conditions. The only issue I noticed with the video quality is that quick, sudden movements do result in motion blur, even in daylight conditions, but normal movement does not. With the camera installed for over a week, the battery is at 90% charge. It hasn’t gotten cold enough to see how that might affect the life, but so far, I am pretty happy with the idea that I would only have to recharge the camera every couple months or so. Even with the impressive battery life, I know I will quickly get tired of having to recharge the battery so I’m very glad that this camera has the option to hook up a solar panel charger (sold separately) to it. Overall, the camera is excellent, and the floodlight brightness is very satisfactory. The app provides an abundance of features to personalize the settings to what works best for each individual user. I think there is still room for some improvement with the activity zone set up and the motion blur, but that will likely improve as the technology evolves. Pros: High quality video, easy to install, flood light provides great lighting, great battery life, numerous setting options and app features, excellent night vision, night vision in color with enough lighting present Cons: Zone setting inaccuracies, motion blur with quick / sudden movements, easy to remove / steal if familiar with the brand
