    So Frustrating! Dangerous freezing...

    I am now on my 2nd replacement camera. I started with the green ear version (didn't work) then they send me the gray ear version (Died in the middle of the night). Now the third is just as buggy as the rest. When it works, it works fine. Just as a benchmark, I get something in the range of 60mb download and 14 upload wifi speeds. According to tech support the camera only needs 1mb upload to function correctly. Small house with Netgear's Orbi mesh network. I get at least a 3 second lag in live streaming with the camera and to me this is manageable. Picture quality is very nice with great night vision. We use the built in white noise and the nightlight every night and this has proved valuable. HOWEVER, wether you're on the app or an internet browser it freezes constantly! Trying to start the live stream I have to refresh around 6 times for it to not be frozen on start up. A little annoying, ok, that is what is it... The major problem I have with this little rabbit is that when the camera freezes mid stream there is no notification, no warning, no blank screen, not even a loss of audio. It freezes and you will have no idea unless you're sitting a foot from the monitor trying to see the little guy/girl's chest moving up and down (through blankets). The audio streams normally so you have no idea the image you're seeing could be 10 minutes old unless they start crying or making noise without 'moving'. I've spoken to Netgear regarding this issue (that they are very aware of) and there is no answer. Just make an alert or make the screen go black! I don't like smear reviews but until they fix this issue I hope no one else has to wonder if they're camera is actually working all night. Side note: Netgear, it's a baby monitor, not Arlo Pro with a cute costume. People stream baby monitors and then maybe they download a few cute videos but we really care about seeing our babies in real time for longer periods of time. Oh and I get the screenshot I uploaded quite frequently.

    Camera works great. Easy install and set up. Night vision far exceeded my expectations, picture is super clear day and night. Lag is minimal when using the 2-way audio, detecting motion, etc. We are very satisfied with the response time and we have a newborn. No issues with any of the features. App works great. This is a must buy nursery camera if you like the look and want to use the features that are built-in.

    Let me start by saying, I'm a level 2 IT engineer. If you like to sleep at night, or get stuff accomplished while your baby is napping, then DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!! You will constantly have login/buffering issues. The camera will randomly lose connection through out the night, then won't reconnect. Want to try to connect from a different device, HA! That's not going to happen (refer back to login/buffering issues). Want to take it on vacation with you? Sure, you can do that, just plan on doing a factory reset when you get there, because it will not connect to a new WiFi address without doing that. Then plan on doing another factory reset when you come back home. Oh, and plan on just doing factory resets frequently, because of all the issues it has. Also plan on going to you phone/tablet settings and clearing the cache, only to find that that doesn't help, so now you need to uninstall, reboot phone/tablet, and reinstall app. Guess what?! That only works about 30% of the time. It's got to be my internet! Nope, I have AT&T fiber, with an avg of 900 Mbps up and down. It's definitely got to be my router then! Nope, I've got an Asus AC3100 RT-AC88U, and have QoS enabled, with the Arlo as the highest priority. Then what is it?! It's Netgear! Lastly, Google: "Arlo baby no sound iOS", and look for all of the complaints when Netgear decided to push out the iOS app update (that's your iPhone and iPad app) that broke the sound. They refused to rollback the app, and it was a full week before a fix was rolled out. That's some great testing by Netgear! Also, try sleeping during that time! So, like I said, if you like to sleep, or get things accomplished while your little one is napping, then this camera is not for you. Pros: - Great picture (when it works) - Decent sound (when it works) Cons: - See my entire post.

    It seems like this unit has an issue with latency. About 6 seconds to be exact. After hunting around forums, this is a known issue. My Arlo Home System has under 2 ms and works amazing. I'm a bit disappointed in this. (This is a small issue overall, but when regarding a baby... 6 ms isn't alright.)

    Does pretty much everything I want it to do. Battery life is not very good though due to constant monitoring. You will have to keep this plugged in. Monitoring is good for humidity, temperature and motion. Image is amazing. Would be 5* if the battery lasted longer than a couple hours.

    We purchased this after visiting Best buy looking at security cameras. The guy actually told us for the price its better than the security camera since we were using it mainly to monitor our dogs and older kid. I saw a few complaints about a lag, its maybe 10 seconds. But we love it. We don't use the music setting unless we want to annoy our kid, lol. You can even turn on a night light. We can talk to them through this as well. Its got video library. The library keeps for a week and we LOVE not paying a fee for that. We liked it so much we bought another one to put in another part of the house. Yep we use a baby monitor as a security camera and it works GREAT!

    When this camera works I love it. Unfortunately, it is not reliable. I'm an IT person and use enterprises grade wifi (Aerohive), so I know it's the camera. App just loses connection. I have regular Arlo cameras too and they aren't much better. If I didn't miss return date, I'd have taken everything back.

    This camera has all of the bells and whistles! It was very easy to set up, and works very well. Unlike some of the reviews state here, the lag for us is only about 1 second. But we actually have a a decent home network set up. The air quality sensor, thermometer, nightlight and noise machine are all very cool and very functional. Excellent night vision as well. I would definitely buy this again and glad I listened to reviews from other places, as it’s rated much very low here.

    The setup of this camera is super simple. With the 1080p streaming, the picture is super clear. The talk back is actually pretty good as well. Highly recommend this cam for a bay monitor.

    The camera stays in one position you can't turn it with a button like other baby monitors and the 2 way talk doesn't work well, when I try to talk to my baby through my phone you can barely hear it... if they fixed these things I would give it five stars everytime!!

    Great device and features. Not for outdoor use so you cant compare to Arlo Pro but for indoor its great. Worth spending extra over the Arlo Q for features like battery, streaming quality, etc.

    I have the Arlo cameras around my house .. so this was just an easier option for us. The first camera gave us a lot of issues with the battery so we had to replace it and buy a new one.

    If you want to argue with your spouse, buy this WiFi camera. In reality, all WiFi camera are flawed, but when it comes to your child, you should stick with the over-the-air camera. This camera times out, loses the WiFi connection, and signs you out when you need to see your child the most. It really is a terrible camera and should not be marketed for parents.

    This works well with our Arlo system for our nursery. The temperature and humidity sensors are very useful. We don't use the night light or music function as much, but it's neat to have.

    The main reason we got this specific one was because we already use Arlo home cameras. This works perfect for what we need and also plays music and sounds to keep him asleep !

    Upon setup I actually connected the camera but was unable to access the live feed, I was only able to see recorded clips. After researching this problem, many recommended disconnecting and removing the device from your app and reconnecting it. Well when I did that I was unable to reconnect it. I tried factory resets, deleting the app, restarting everything to no avail. I even spent over an hour on the phone with two different Arlo technical help associates with no luck. It got to the point where they were telling me to change my WiFi password not to include special characters when I finally gave up. Avoid this headache. I am going to get my money back and buy an amcrest hd2k for a baby monitor instead.
