What can I say about Army Of Darkness, well it is part 3 of the Evil Dead franchise. Bruce Campbell gives the best or one the best fun performances of his career. Director Sam Raimi delivers another fantastic fun film. Please note you don’t need to watch Evil Dead 1 or 2 to enjoy this film, this film is pretty self-explanatory. It takes a man from our time who is fighting demonic possessed beings to medieval times. It’s a wild ride. Shout! Factory went all out on producing new features for the fans as well as bring all the old ones. This set does contain 4 versions of the film. The Theatrical Cut, The Director's cut, The International cut and the TV cut (in SD). The only drawbacks is that both the Theatrical Cut & The Director's cut are missing seconds of footage. The film was co-financed by Dino De Laurentiis in 1992 and released by Universal Pictures theatrically in 1993.

Bruce Campbell is the King! (Inside joke.) Still with his chainsaw and "BOOM Stick", a vortex sucks him back to the middle-ages. But fear not, as he's armed to the teeth with deadly one-liners and ready to once again do battle with the Evil Dead. Will he become a hero to the local people, and perhaps bed a damsel or two? Will he even survive and make it back to his own time? Even if he does, will his job at S-Mart be waiting for him? And most importantly, will he still be the King AND will he receive any "sugar" upon his return?? There's only one way to find out...!

Shout Factory does a great job with their releases and this is another winner. You get all 4 editions of the movie Theatrical,Directors ,International and TV version.A brand new documentary called"New Medieval Times",commentary by both Sam Rami and Bruce Campbell along with others.Scans are nice and clear with a 4K scan for the international version. One thing about the movie ,it is not part of the Ash vs.Evil Dead cannon ,for one part the original ending is included and Bruce Campbell stated they are not able to use this movie in clips in the TV show.So if you just found Evil Dead ,don't expect anything to be used from this movie.Evil dead 1 and 2 are basically what you need to buy.

Whether this is your favorite or least favorite entry in the Evil Dead franchise, Bruce Campbell / Sam Raimi fans should rejoice! If you haven't picked this film up yet on Blu-ray, make no mistake - this is the definitive release and likely will be for a long time! Three versions of the film, all with gorgeous transfers, the discs are loaded with insightful special features, and it features gorgeous new artwork on the slipcover and reversible sleeve (original theatrical art is on the back side). Scream Factory knocked it out of the park on this one! If only the other films in this franchise were treated with so much love!

It feels a bit like the old days to be able to actually walk into a store like a Best Buy and see a Shout! Factory type release on the shelf - at an excellent price of around $18 too. This three-disc set is the "Blade Runner box set of Army of Darkness releases" if there ever was one - what with 4 (3 in HD - including one 4K remaster; 1 in SD) cuts of the movie and a wealth of other new and old bonus slices of goodness. There is a slight glitch on disc one (the theatrical cut) where about two seconds of inessential footage is missing. However Shout! is offering a free disc exchange for those bothered by it's absence.

I've always loved this series and have enjoyed watching it over the years, although I have to admit, I've only ever seen the theatrical cut. This release was a great way to watch the film in 4 cuts: theatrical, director's, international, and T.V. I can't wait to see each of them. Scream/Shout factory always does a good job with their releases. I understand digital is here to stay, but there's something special to me about holding a physical package. The artwork is great, the P.Q. is great, and I'm very satisfied (especially as I got the movie for 12.99 with a reward coupon!)

My trilogy is now complete! Third installment of the epic Ash series and truely the best. Hard to find a trilogy that gets better with each install but these guys did it. No spoilers but if you enjoy Ash versus Evil series or anything similar this is a must have. Image quality did a shimmy or two with my 4k upscale but good enough. Remember, Shop smart, shop S-mart... getsum

This is a great set from Scream(Shout) Factory. This set comes with three versions of this fun horror movie on three blu-RAY disc not two(best buy needs to fix that), which include the theatrical cut, the director's cut, and the international cut. there is also a tv version included in 1080i which is not bad. Other than that there is also the special features which are great. Picture looks really good on all three cuts, even the tv cut not bad, and the sound is amazing. like the title says this is the definitive edition.

This movie moved the series into action more than horror, though it still has horror elements. It keeps the slapstick comedy, turns it up a notch, and has Ash go full action hero. While the new Ash vs the Evil Dead series is based off the original ending, the alternate endings actually represent Ash's string of luck better, imo. This is a beautiful steel book and as I acquired it on sale, it was definitely worth it.

I've had the opportunity to watch all versions of the movie included in this collection. The Theatrical Cut looks great but pretty much identical to the "Screwhead" edition. Some footage that is inter-cut into the Director's Cut definitely has some very noticeable excessive grain and film scratches. These added shots are very obvious and tend to be only a few seconds in length. It's a bit disappointing but, it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the movie. The Director's Cut is also the only film that contains a commentary track. The International Cut looks the nicest out of the three HD versions. Vivid colors and crisp clarity. The TV cut is tacked on to the disc like an afterthought, looks poor and is in standard definition full-frame as expected. It has no chapter options so you must fast forward and rewind manually, which isn't the greatest but a welcome bonus.

I already owned this film on Blu-Ray, but when I saw it on Steelbook, I had to get it. For a while, this was only available online for an additional five dollars. Not only this, but when I purchased it, the cashier mentioned additional Steelbook films they'll be getting from Scream Factory as well. Loved the service, and how much they know about their products. I'm a very satisfied customer.

Another great version of one of my favorite movies of all time. Plenty of extras, and always an enjoyed watch for a movie. I'm fully aware of various classic cinema throughout the years, and appreciate quality films with award-winning acting, cinematography, story, etc. Though this is far from any of that, I find it highly entertaining, and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys cheesy B movie characteristics filled with action, comedy, and one-liners.

I know we've all been burned before. But this is it guys, this has it ALL. All the versions, all the features, all the art. If you don't know this movie I I can't imagine why you are reading this, but chances are you'll like it if you have interest. For all the rest of us, transfer is pretty great (yes even for a SF release), new features, all old ones. Individual disc art from previous versions. Here it is for us guys. Until Ultra 4K release or whatever.

Four different versions of Army of Darkness across three Blu-ray discs, plus a great selection of bonus footage and commentaries - how can you go wrong!? Some people have quibbled with the image quality on parts of the film, but for a title of this vintage (the pre-digital early 90s), everything on here looks pretty darn good. Other than that, I can't imagine anything that could improve this release. Bravo, Shout Factory!

After countless releases through out the years on both DVD and Blu-ray, "Army of Darkness" finally gets a true special edition release! This 3-disc release includes three versions of AoD; Theatrical cut, Director's Cut, and International Cut. And as an added bonus, Shout Factory threw in the television cut (it's 1:33.1 and in Standard Def), too! If you're a fan of the Evil Dead series, then this is a must buy for any fan.

Army of Darkness is a great movie. Sam Raimi is an incredible director. Shout Factory does awesome Blu Ray editions. Buy this even if you have one of the other versions. Three discs, three versions of the movie, tons of bonus feature. Shout Factory releases are like Criterion releases. They are packed with bonus features. Grab their editions of Escape From New York, They Live, Lifeforce and the Howling as well.

3 discs! That's a lot of content for a steelbook alone. Army of Darkness gives us more on the story of the hero Ash. It is fun and just silly at times but a good chapter to the evil dead trilogy. It ties the show as well. Some may not appreciate it, but the ED franchise turned more into humorous horror after ED2 and this follows nicely.
