AMAZING MODEM WORKS WITH OPTIMUM 1 GBPS

This works for Optimum/Altice! The list is so outdated on optimum website but wanted to let everyone know this does work with optimum. This Modem is amazing! I get my 1 GBPS speeds with no issues! It is also so easy to setup with optimum. All you need to do is go to https://install.optimum.com/ put your account information in. Make sure to do this from your cell phone. Unplug the old modem and plug in the new modem. Say yes to the questions asking if you are replacing modem, Enter the MAC address for the new modem. Hit next. It will detect the modem and ask you to make sure you are replacing the old modem that is in place by checking the Mac address. Click next and it will send a reset command to the new modem. If the lights reset on your new modem you are all set. It may take 15 to 45 minutes before you get internet although my situation was instantly connected to the internet. I get 100% of the speeds I pay for. Hope this helps someone researching for a modem for Optimum. This also has DOCSIS3.1 for future upgrades and is also backwards compatible to DOCSIS3.0

The Aris modem was easy to install and setup. I like that the housing has plenty of ventilation holes for the heat to escape. The form factor is small and the feet have a good grip to them so it stays upright. The status lights are easily readable and the modem has proved reliable so far. I am happy with my purchase.

Great Modem - Might Need to Call Xfinity Though

This modem is very space-conscious and tiny which is great. I was hoping setup would be smooth, however the MAC address was not being found via the Xfinity app. Not the fault of the product, though. I had to call in to Xfinity support and have the unit manually added to my account in order to function. But once set up, I was able to get near GB speed as intended from directly connecting via Ethernet to my PC, and Google's wifi mesh network nodes throughout the home are interacting well.

Simple setup with my cable company. Got it up and running right away. Do not yet have gigawatt speed from my cable company so have not noticed blazing speed, but it appears more reliable. Not cheap, but effective.

Bought to upgrade my 10 year old surfboard modem because Comcast recently upgraded all plans in my area and it couldn't get the full speed(maxed at about 130mpbs, when I get 300 now, up from 100 when I first got the old one). Worked perfectly after registering it with them, but not giving it 5 star because in general it's insultingly overpriced for what you're getting. This isn't unique to this modem, they basically all are, and this one is actually one of the cheaper ones. However, you don't need anything super fancy and when it comes down to it, this is basically a super cheap "Raspberry pi" type SoC in a cheap plastic case that should maybe have a retail price of $50, but this was $180. Kinda feels like a scam because they know you need one to get internet, or pay like $10/mo rental fee to your ISP. Still saves you money in the long run, and they know that so inflate the price accordingly.

So like most of you - you are at home consuming tons of data - we have paid for and do pay for the fastest service available from comcast (1,000mb download) I have had the old surfboard in place for years (DOCSIS 3.0) - I did not realize that was only rated for up to 330mbs download. I loaded in my before and after - the old surfboard had me topped out at about 275mb speed which I thought was awesome - but as you can see in the next pic - 911???!! - I'm cool with that! Set-up was pretty straight forward and whole swap out took me about 20-30 mins.

The is super fast! I had the previous Surfboard for 5 years. It was also a good unit but it over heated (still functional) alot. when i place my hand over SB32 no heat at all temps are very low. i have a 3inch gap in a enclosed area. Setting the router up with Cox, was easy. just called my IP , out with the old and in with the new! The purchase price was within much budget. I purchased this for 2 reason against any other modem. 1) I had a much older Surfboard for 5 years and it never poooped out on me , so i was Familar with Arris brand, 2) Best buy had great reviews about this modem 5 stars.

I've had this for almost a year now and still working at %100 no dropping dual channel lets you have a computer hard line to the modem and lets you use a router also service provider may depend on dual port usage. you can not use a play station or xbox if would want to dual port you cant those need to be on a router when hooking my ps4 to the device with out the router it makes the modem only allows one device hard wired if using consoles,PC you can use both channels for 2 PC's on the modem. the picture is a speed test with direct modem connecting i got the 940mbps and 30mbps connection

I bought this to replace an SB6190. My old modem would vary in download speeds between 200Mbps to 300Mbps (on a 500Mbps plan from my ISP.) This SB8200 has given me consistent speeds of 540Mbps to 560Mbps, even peaking as high as 791Mbps once! The connection also seems more stable, with fewer service interruptions...possibly the difference between DOCSIS 3.0 AND 3.1? I don't have the multigig service tier, so I can't test this modem's ability to handle those speeds, but it does have two 1Gbps ethernet ports and supports port aggregation, so if your modem also supports that, you should be able to use this modem with plans up to 2Gbps. ***Helpful hint, when connecting this modem to your router, be CERTAIN that you use a CAT6 ethernet cable! I accidently connected my devices with an old CAT5e cable initially and only had speeds of 130Mbps. Realized my mistake, connected the modem and router with an Insignia CAT6 cable (which is rated to support speeds of up to 10bps) and was up to 550+Mbps!

Only a few days in but very happy, considering a long period of spotty performance with my broadband. To be fair, the modem I had before was great, but considering the amount of isp owned hardware that had to be replaced to fix the signal transmission, I figured it had been through enough (months of severe interference etc.) and got a new one. I only reset my router (RAX 45 Nighthawk) and speed is back to an excellent 590+ & 24+ Mbps. Three solid days so far of interrupted high speed strength. This modem works so don’t let disgruntled call center reps convince you otherwise! I had to try very hard this time.

I'm a gamer on ps4 and I always had to ask wifento get off wifi. Not anymore since I got this device. Got it right after my nighthawk rax80. Pre speeds of old modem and nighthawk were 225ish, after installing this with my nighthawk I reach 350s on an only 300mbps plan. Have had no issues other than the initial set up where I had to contact comcast for them to do some kind of activation. Will plan to upgrade to a faster plan eventually. Based on reviews I read this was a very reliable top choice product. Future proof and just incase I still bought geek squad

Needed to replace my 10 year old cable modem and a salesman at best buy told me the Arris 8200 Surfboard was one of the best and would work perfectly for my needs. It was extremely easy to hook up, took me no time at all and so far it works great. What's not to like?

I have comcast internet and I was supposed to have 250 mb download speed but my Motorola sb 6121 was only letting me reach 140 mb download speed . I installed the Arris SB 8200 and my first internet speed test reached 301 mb download . Don't quite understand how a modem can do this , I thought it was the router that helped your internet speed , guess I was wrong .

Faster than my old SB6190. Getting upwards of 700 Mpbs. Surfboard app doesn't support this device. Redirected to download ARRIS Surfboard Manager which is only available for older Android devices. Ended up having to call Comcast which got me up and running about 20 minutes. You can also use the Xfinity app. All my WIFI devices now up to speed.
