This is hands down the best VR game and perhaps one of the best platformers I've ever played. Nothing feels forced and there is PLENTY of content between the main story mode, bonus area with unlockables and even challenge modes for EACH LEVEL (including harder bosses!). Graphics are amazing, controls are perfect, and the characters are super cute! Check it out, it's a great (discount priced!) VR game!

As noted in some of the more professional gaming news websites and videos, as well as some less-than professional editorials, this video game is the best way for one to be introduced to the world of virtual reality. There's no motion sickness and no need to move one's body in order to play, though there are times when the controller's rotation becomes inaccurate over time and does tend to ruin the immersion of the game. Additionally, while the avatar may move about the game level, the POV character is rather difficult to move backwards when one misses a particular item or objective, though there is some replay value in going again. Speaking of, there are some smaller quests where one is able to build up their own collection of Astro Bots to interact and relive some of the levels without actually fully playing them. However, trying to get more coins to acquire said pieces are rather monotonous and grinding if one isn't moving forward in the campaign. All and all, a worthy single-player experience worth sharing with others.

At the end of the day, Astro Bot is just an ordinary 3D platformer with tight controls and great graphics. However, when you add in the VR aspect to the game it becomes a lot more creative. What's interesting about Astro Bot is that you're just as much of a character in the game as you are with Astro Bot. Granted, you still control Astro Bot using your DualShock 4 like any other third person platformer, but occasionally you're given special tools when you have to use the DualShock 4's gyroscope to employ a flashlight, water cannon, or grappling hook to help Astro Bot out. Sometimes you have to literally use your head to break through a wall or to peak around a corner since there's no camera control in the game. Game takes about ten hours to complete or so if you're looking to collect all the collectibles and do all the challenges. Could be less if you're quick at finding the bots since the game overall isn't too tough.

Wonderful game, that is well crafted and whimsical. I was grinning ear to ear each step of the way. While a shorter game 4-6hrs main play through it well worth the asking price. You will easily double that playtime if you do the additional challenge levels and content. Lots to do. It's a game that must be experienced, since describing it or watching previews on flat screens doesn't do it justice. Most VR games are like that, but this one especially so. After God of War, and Spiderman I would easily put this among them for game of the year contender. It does so much with the medium. It's rare for me when a game gets better each level you progress. Just when you think they could not possibly top themselves... they do. There is a demo now, so try before you buy if you must. Stay away from spoilers too if possible. This is a game that is will best serve you if you go in blind and let it unfold.

A game that exudes quality and fun through and through. I’m not usually a fan of VR games, but this makes a good case that they can be just as good, if not better, than the offerings we’ve seen over the years. It’s arguably as good as what Nintendo produces, with lots of wow moments, beautiful graphics, catchy music, and great level design. Don’t miss it.

I was enthralled, and thoroughly entertained by this game from start, to finish. I haven't had this blown away by a platformer since playing Super Mario 64 for the first time in the 90s. This takes 3D platforming to a new level using modern VR tech, with you as the camera, and headbasher of obstacles, coupled with a stellar level of polish. The visuals are superb amongts PSVR titles, controls are flawless, and there is a large variety in levels. Difficulty curve is well balanced, providing an entertaining, and occasionally challenging experience. It took me around 6 hours to get through the campaign while hunting down as many collectibles as I could along the way. Many more hours were spent finding the remainder. If you've got a PSVR, or are on the fence about buying one, this is a must have, milestone of a title. I sincerely hope we will see sequels in the future.

The main character is adorable. The way he waves at you as he passes by or does the floss dance in victory will have you falling in love right away. The VR element of the game reminds you that you are one of the main characters and are physically taking part in this whimsically colorful world (instead of merely being an outsider on the couch with a controller). The skill level ramps up quite evenly. The first levels let you acclimate to the world and the controls. The later levels become challenging and heartbreaking as you feel the responsibility of your pal plummeting to his (only temporary) doom. Sometimes I find myself stopping for a moment to take in the well detailed and often comical surroundings. I love platformers and this is the most enjoyable one I’ve played in quite a while.

Closest to Having Disney Dark Rides in Your Home

Aside from being the great platformer that it is, ASTRO BOT Rescue Mission is great escapist fair and (I cannot emphasize this enough) a _must-own_ for PSVR. If PSVR launched with ABRM, then we may have been talking about it in similar context as the Wii in 2006. ABRM maximizes, packages and stylizes the limits of the PSVR with a healthy dose of whimsy. The experience is similar to a host of Disney dark rides, e.g. Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, and even Haunted Mansion. To say this is heir apparent to games like Super Mario 64 would be putting things mildly. I am late to picking up PSVR, but, so far, this is the only game for a borderline "VR-Luddite" worth having.

I heard this game was a system seller and yeah it's that good. I spent so much money on my 1080ti Pc vr and I can say games like this look, play and run so good on PS4 makes me think how much PC's and not geared for games by PC specs this game should not be running on a ps4 as good as it does. With that said this game is so much fun to play and experience it's like a Mario and sonic mix of fun with way newer twist in VR. Lots of surprises around every turn that will Amaze! don't watch any videos on this game just buy it if it looks like it may interest you and enjoy! Easy one of my top 5 vr games out of 80 I have.

If you own a PSVR, this game is a must buy. You play as Astro, an adorable robot ninja given the task to rescue all of its friends and recover all of the parts to their spaceship. In the VR headset, the game looks absolutely jaw-dropping. The characters are adorable! The polish is top-notch! The music is catchy! There are 5 worlds to explore, with each level adding a new twist on gameplay. The game is pure joy. I had a grin on my face my entire playthrough. It’s a little on the short side, but it doesn’t have to be a 30+ hour experience to be a great game. Even if you don’t normally enjoy platformers, you should give this game a try!

This is by far the best PSVR game in my opinion. The experience playing Astro Bot, the first time I played it, reminded me of the first time I played Mario 64 (first truly great 3D game)... it was a quantum leap ahead of the other current generation games, and made me feel like I was playing something ground-breakingly new. Astro Bot uses VR to the fullest potential I've yet seen. Phenomenal platformer! So much fun to play!

I am a huge fan of platformers and cutesy, Nintendo style game design. Astro bot is all of these things, but in VR! The way this game is designed has made the transition to VR completely seamless. I don't get nauseous at all while playing this game which is a great surprise. My biggest struggle with VR has been getting over the nausea. This is my number one VR title right now and I can't get enough. They made it so fun and interactive. Every level makes me smile for a new reason.

This game proves that platformers work well in vr. This game along with borderlands vr are my favorite vr games. It reminds of super mario brothers but in vr. You really feel like you are the rescue bot. It is so well done with a wide variety of worlds and levels some hard and others easier. I think this will be a franchise series for vr. It is that good and had very successfull launch. Gameplay mechanics are near perfect. Must buy!!!

This is probably one of, if not the most, fun video game I have ever played. The VR element is great without ever making you nauseous. The robots are awesome and when they start dancing, it is hard to restrain yourself from doing the same. It is a platform game in the vein of Mario 64 and its sequels and it does just about everything right. Hopefully there are more levels or a sequel in the future!

I have been a gamer since the retro atari days and played at least once almost every top game on every system that has been released. But this game sits at the very top among the best ever created. The game is engaging, fun, creative, visually beautiful, control use fantastic, ect. I am still playing it but my only concern would be that it doesnt end anytime soon. If you do not own a PS VR this one game makes it worth it.

This may be the closest version of any straight mario 64 successor we get on a VR device. It flows with the needed interaction of the VR and platforming people have grown to love with games such as Crash Bandicoot, Mario 64, and Zelda. It may be the best VR game in the Playstation VR lineup. If you can get this on sale, I would definately pick it up. Those just getting into VR would be wise to start with this title.

This game is insanely charming, but more importantly provides an experience that just wouldn't be the same without VR. Your li'l astro bot buddy is adorable and you really want to help him find his friends. I am really kind of blown away by just how good this game is... highly recommended for anyone with PSVR. (I'm running it on OG PS4 and it looks great!)
