Just got this use to have tritton head sets but cant get parts for it. Plus it wont work on xbox one. the sound is not bad but having a hard time hearing the character speak. Still working with it to salve the problem. over all its not bad.If tritton had a head set for xboxone i would have gotten it in stead.

Long story short I bought the Astro a40 TR for $249.99. A week later I got a new gaming tv and why I was trying to rearrange my set up I was plugging the optical cord back and and the port on my Xbox broke. I debated sending my Xbox in but didn't wanna deal with that so I returned the Astro a 40 TR and purchased these. They are NOTHING like the TR version. I would deffentily recommend spending the extra 50 bucks for the Astro a40 TRs. I do not believe these are worth $200 when the TRs are only $50 more.

Xbox One Version A Downgrade

These new Gen2 Astro A40s specifically for the Xbox One are a complete downgrade from their previous line-up. In previous packages you received a MixAmp Pro + Astro A40 headsets which allowed you to experience gaming with Dolby Surround Sound. Make no mistake, this new Gen2 version of Astro A40s only support Stereo which is sound on the left and right. That's it, no different than using any other headset on the market. It is unfortunate that Astro has downgraded their A40 line-up for Xbox One users, but the only way to receive surround sound is to now buy Astro A50 Gen2s for the Xbox One.

I bought this for my son's birthday, The mix amp is constantly breaking with limited use. We just got the headset back from Astro last Thursday and it worked for a whopping week. This is the 3rd time we are having to send this in for repair. Complete waste of $200.
