I’ve been using an ASUS Creator laptop for the past year, and it’s been a solid machine for my creative work. The OLED display is stunning, with accurate colors (100% DCI-P3), which makes a huge difference when working on photo and video editing. Performance-wise, the Intel Core i9 and geforce RTX 1650in my model handle Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Blender smoothly, even with heavy projects.
Multitasking is effortless with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, and the cooling system does a decent job, though it can get warm under heavy loads. The ASUS Dial is a nice touch for fine-tuning adjustments in creative apps. Battery life is okay but not amazing—expect 4-6 hours depending on usage.
Build quality feels premium, and the keyboard is comfortable for long hours of work. It’s a bit on the heavier side, but for the power it offers, I don’t mind. Overall, it’s been a reliable and well-balanced laptop for creative professionals who need performance without breaking the bank.

I bought this laptop for gaming, and I’m very impressed with its performance. The OLED screen is stunning, with vibrant colors and deep blacks. The Intel Core i9 processor and the NVIDIA RTX3050 graphics card handle any game or task smoothly and without lag. The 16GB of memory and the 1TB SSD provide plenty of storage and speed for multitasking. The laptop is also sleek and lightweight, with a comfortable keyboard. The battery life is decent, lasting about 6 hours on average use. Overall, I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a powerful and portable device.

Hello everyone,
Please note this review will be long, but I want to be detailed to hopefully help people decide whether this laptop is truly for them. I think it will fit most people’s needs, outside of perhaps hard-core gamers who are looking to play the latest titles at ultra settings (I’ll explain more why this laptop is NOT made for that below).
Regarding the ASUS 15.6" OLED Laptop - Intel Core i9 - NVIDIA RTX3050 6GB with 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Black laptop, I think it is an excellent laptop, particularly with these specs and at the price. I actually got mine on sale for $1,099.99 (and had gift cards too), but I think the $1,299.99 price it is usually at is very reasonable for a laptop with these specs (I have about 30 years of experience evaluating and buying PCs/laptops, so I'm pretty familiar with the specs to look at and consider. Plus, I do online marketing, copywriting, and content creation, so these specs are important for me to consider in my line of work - a weak-powered PC/laptop is NOT going to cut it for me).
Regarding this laptop, in the amount of time I have worked with it (going on about one month, as it was delivered May 31), I can say the following:
- The screen is gorgeous, as other reviewers have mentioned. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are vivid, and everything just seems to pop at you. If you are familiar with OLED TVs or the OLED Nintendo Switch, you will definitely know what I mean when I say "pop."
- The laptop is capable of multitasking, largely because of the Core i9 processor and the 16GB DDR5 RAM - this combination should be able to handle most processing tasks easily, as it has the strongest Intel Core processor and the latest DDR RAM technology available for laptops (all the more reason why the $1,299.99 price is very reasonable in my opinion, let alone under that price).
- The laptop has an RTX 3050 graphics card; this can make all the difference when it comes to intensive processing applications such as PhotoShop or AutoCAD (a.k.a. auto Computer-Aided Design) software, as a recent or even relatively recent dedicated graphics card will outdo virtually all of Intel's integrated graphics chips (even though they have improved over the years).
- Further note on the above point; all due respect, but to those complaining about not being able to play the latest games at Ultra settings, this laptop was NOT made for that for these reasons - 1. It is labelled as a "creator" laptop, NOT a gaming laptop. 2. It has a 3050 RTX graphics card when the latest RTX cards for laptops is in the 4000s, so it's a generation old now - thus, the latest games at the highest settings are essentially impossible to run without having the latest dedicated graphics chip, even with a processor and considerable RAM such as this, 3. At this price point (about $1300) at this point in time (late June 2023), you are NOT going to find a laptop with an RTX 4000 dedicated graphics chip paired with an i9 processor and 16GB DDR5 RAM - thus, in my opinion, it is unrealistic to expect to play the latest games at the highest settings no matter who manufactures the laptop with the specs this laptop has, even one such as Asus with its ROG (Republic of Gamers) laptops in its product lineup. That line of laptops is a more realistic choice for hard-core gamers looking to play the latest titles at ultra settings in my opinion; of course, they will likely cost more and not have all of these specs, but that’s the trade-off you must consider when considering any laptop, including this one.
- Of course, with a processor like this (i9), a dedicated graphics card like this (RTX 3050), and an OLED screen like this (brighter whites, more intense colors, and more vivid blacks), you're NOT going to get a ton of battery life - that's to be expected. Any laptop from any manufacturer with the same or similar specs will NOT excel at battery life. These aren't Apple laptops, and to my knowledge, Apple laptops will not handle gaming to the level this laptop can, nor the level of laptops with RTX 4000 chips - Apple laptops were largely not made for gaming, even with their own manufactured chips. They're made to run seamlessly with their own software, plus give great battery life, which they do. But to expect anywhere near that type of battery life on this unit is comparing apples and oranges - it's just unrealistic.
- Further note on the above point - you can adjust the settings to get better battery life and more out of it when you are away from an outlet. With that said, don't expect more than 2-3 hours, maybe 4 hours at best, with it away from an outlet. And, yes, the performance of the laptop will not be at maximum when it is unplugged – this is true of all laptops, and particularly those with strong processors, much RAM, and dedicated graphics chips – the default settings on the software that tweaks these settings is most often set to “maximum performance” when it is plugged in and either “balanced,” “hybrid,” or, most common, “to preserve battery power” (or words to this effect) when unplugged.
Thus, the computer will automatically adjust the appropriate performance settings so that the computer’s processor and graphics card’s performances are reduced accordingly to match the set-up scheme. To my knowledge, you can adjust the scheme settings to where it can provide maximum performance on battery, but then your battery will be lucky to last 1-2 hours. This is common with all these laptops from all of these manufacturers, not just this one.
Therefore, in my opinion, you have to be realistic when it comes to what you expect from a laptop, including this one.
- For what you get in this laptop, in my opinion, you will be hard-pressed to get all of these features and all of these capabilities at or near this price point at this point in time (late June 2023). Consider the following:
- You have the latest generation core i9 processor, capable of running virtually any program with ease, particularly since it also has
- 16GB DDR5 RAM, the latest generation of RAM at the time of this writing (June 2023) available for a laptop. Yes, you can upgrade it further, though it does take some knowledge of the inner workings of the computer to do it, so you either have to look it up online and be prepared to do some manual work to do it, or you need to rely on a service like Best Buy's Geek Squad to do it for you. Even if you never upgrade it, though, you should still be able to do plenty of processing at once for a while with this laptop as is, being it has 16GB of the latest RAM for a laptop.
- You get a dedicated graphics card, which does make a noticeable difference when it comes to running applications like PhotoShop, AutoCAD software, etc.
- Note that this graphics card will still allow you to play most games at medium to high to ultra settings depending on how old the title is and how graphically-intensive the game is. So, it can still do a pretty good amount of gaming as compared to most laptops, particularly those with no dedicated graphics cards or those not made for gaming (like Apple's), being that this laptop still has an RTX 3050 graphics card, still pretty advanced at the time of this review (June 2023).
- The OLED screen is vivid and captures many colors and details many standard laptop screens don't, which is why it can be a great choice for those doing graphic-intensive work (like with PhotoShop and similar programs); plus, most laptops don't come with OLED screens, particularly at this price point with the other aforementioned specs.
And, a couple points I didn’t mention before:
- It also has a Thunderbolt 4 port, capable of up to 40 Gbps (40 Gigabits, NOT Gigabytes, per second) transfers, the latest technology available, something many laptops don't have.
- It also has one separate USB-C port, plus two (yes, two!) USB-A 3.2 ports, plus its own charging port for the adapter (there are some laptops out there now that will give you 1-2 Thunderbolt ports, but one of them has to be used to keep the battery charged - that is NOT the case here, even though I believe you can charge the laptop through the Thunderbolt 4 port if you wish, but it's not required here).
Therefore, while Best Buy’s product detail page says it has 3 total USB ports, it actually has 4 – 2 USB-A, 1 USB-C, 1 Thunderbolt 4 (some might not consider this a USB port, but it is really a USB-C port with advanced capabilities that allow it to transfer data at Thunderbolt 4 standards, so I consider it a USB port), with one USB-A on the back-left side of the laptop, and one USB-A on the middle-right side of the laptop, the side where most of the ports, including an Ethernet port and HDMI port, are located on this laptop.
- The solid state drive (SSD) on this laptop is 1TB (most laptops have less than this, usually 512GB) and is a PCI 3.0x4 (meaning it is one generation old, as PCI 4.0 is the latest standard; PCI 3.0 can only transfer half as much data in the same amount of time as PCI 4.0, about 1GB/s for the PCI 3.0 and about 2GB/s for PCI 4.0, though the 1GB/s rate should still be more than enough for most people’s needs and applications).
All in all, most who pick this up should get a minimum of 2-4 years out of this laptop, and I think 5+ years is quite reasonable, particularly if you do not usually upgrade your laptop every generation or two. That's another reason why this laptop really is NOT for hardcore gamers who want to play the latest games at the highest specs - virtually no laptop with any specs will manage that for more than a few years at best before you either have to tone down the settings or upgrade your laptop again - that's just how the industry and "playing field" work.
I hope this review was helpful. If I can answer any questions or provide further information, please feel free to reply here or in the questions and answers section, and I’ll attempt to answer them- thank you for reading! Take care!

Everything from the hardware included to the very (and I mean very) minimal to basically no bloatware installed, ASUS did a great job on this creator focused laptop. The OLED screen is beautiful, the i9-13900H is more than enough for all your mobile task needs and even the RTX 3050 isn't something to laugh at.
15.6 inch is a pretty great sweet spot for this machine and it is rather thin. The all black look gives off a nice aesthetic but the outside material is a fingerprint magnet. Ironically the inside isn't. Build quality is above average for all laptops I have used in the past. I do like the large "off-center" trackpad that is more to the left of the wrist area. I have had no issues with my palms interfering with it as I lay them on it. Keyboard is a nice backlit with a good click feel. Though depending on how much force you use, it does start to bow more in the middle. Another nice feature, even with my big hands are the included TK (ten key), albeit small, but still fully functional. It was quite annoying that the numpad is off by default and you must turn it on every time you want to use it.
Firing it right up introduces you to the perfect blacks of the OLED with the ASUS logo greeting you. After the standard Windows 11 startup, I went right to work. The 2880 x 1620 resolution took a little getting used to for me. Screen is also a solid 120hz. Battery life claims to be around 10hrs, but that is probably light usage. I had mine plugged in most of the time to max out performance. 1TB NVMe is more than enough for my needs but what I found a little weird was the RAM. DDR5 is great, but 8GB soldered on with only the other 8GB removable to be upgradable. You can upgrade with a 16gb stick, but again, I find 24gb RAM to be an odd choice when I am more used to the 16 or 32 options. It should have been in my opinion 16gb soldered and 16gb upgradable.
I/O is great. 2x full size USB-A, 2x USB-C (1x Thunderbolt), FULL size HDMI 2.1, Headphone/Mic jack, SD card reader, 4.5mm power barrel jack and full size ethernet port.
Performance wise this laptop does what it says it can do and a little more. No where does it state it's for gaming, but that won't stop it. Do not listen to the Spec part of the website as BB states the 3050 "offers gameplay at max settings" which is 100% not true. Running benchmarks using Shadow of the Tomb Raider shows at HIGH settings gives it a measly mid 30s fps, MED bumps to 45-50 and LOW hovered in the low 50s. Games are playable just fine, just do not think and believe you can play everything MAXED out or you will have a bad time. Surprisingly the speakers aren't half bad and that is saying something. Most laptops are just so bad you have to use headphones anyways, but watching streaming content or playing some games sounded good.
Thermals were manageable and while it did get warm, it was never to the point of hot or cooking my thighs. Benchmarking at everything turned to max turned on the fans, but they were not super audible or produce a high pitch whine. Headphone users will not notice, but unless I was really focusing my attention to it, I barely would even notice.
The ASUS is a solid 4.5 due to the odd upgrade path for the RAM and the shell as a fingerprint magnet but excels at almost everything else.

This is a very well thought out, user designed oriented laptop. It has everything I was looking for, either for my work or my personal stuff. I love the fact that it has several ports, 2 USB C, 2 USB A, HDMI, Ethernet, audio 3.5mm, even the SD Card Reader, that I use a lot, without scarifying its slim design. I have got the black color which looks very elegant and feels very strong and high quality. The top cover is metal with soft touch paint and fingerprint magnet, the rest (Bottom and surface keyb ) is plastic. The way it has been built reminds me the times when IBM used to make good laptops, like the Thinkpad T series years ago. It comes with a powerful processor that while I am writing this review I haven’t seen yet on any other laptop, Intel 13th gen Core I9. This in combination with the 6GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and the OLED Screen make this laptop really fast performance for whatever task I have done so far.
I found out that the design is based on the VIVObook platform, but has its own ID, however you will see the VIVObook legend on the HW description in the Windows 11 Home.
The laptop came with the Power Supply and the Power Cord. No cable adapters of any kind because it has all the ports you need included, which is a relief because I don’t need to carry with me anymore the SD Car reader adapter or the USB C to USB A adapter when I travel, which was annoying, or external Ethernet adapter
Mine came with 16Gb of MEM and 1TB SSD Drive, which is enough for my needs. Super Fast, the real viewable screen size is 15.6”. The specs states that the Battery capacity can reach the 12 working hours. So far I was using it for 4 hours browsing the Internet, watching Youtube videos, emailing and the MS Windows Batt Indicator shows 50% left, so I assume it has the intelligence to dynamically save power while approaching the minimum point, however I think those 12 hours of battery might be measure by light usage.
I like that the Camera is on top, more coverage angle, my old laptop have it at the keyboard level, something that I don’t like. The Sound is terrific, turn out that it comes with the Harman Kardon quad Speaker, with Dolby Atmos for multidimensional Sound and the Webcam and Microphone offers Noise Canceling feature. For my zoom meetings this laptop is great, clear video, audio, communication is flawless and no lags of any kind, either video or audio. It comes with a privacy cover, which is very handy.
I have seen a couple of movies, either streaming and using an external DVD-Rom, and the quality video is amazing, is a real 120hz, if feels like you can touch the images you are seeing, OLED is definitely the way to go and should be an standard on any laptop nowadays, and I am glad ASUS is including this feature in its products. The sound is very pleasant as well.
It has a quick boot up, most likely because of the hdd ssd, the Windows 11 and that this particular design is set up to minimize he HW check or speed up the boot. Set up is really simple and quick, after powering on, it will ask for the usual stuff, like Country, Keyboard setting, Wifi network. When I have set up my previous laptops I have created a Local user, but because this is the 11 Home version, it will require you to enter your MS either Hotmail or Outlook ID or create one. However once you finished, just type control and select User Accounts, create a local account, boot with the local account with admin privileges and delete the other one. Finally it will ask for setting fingerprint, and a PIN #.
After working for hours you can hear the fans turning on but it is not something that bother or very noticeable. It doesn’t get hot as well. The keyboard has well distributed keys with the right size, with backlit and the numpad. The touchpad works really well, sensitive and fast response.
This is an amazing laptop for the price, the features and the powerful specs, that I still don’t see yet on other brands in the market. I am very pleased with it.

Once you see the vibrancy of an OLED screen it truly is hard to use anything without one. The colors and depth of colors are truly different on an OLED. The display comes wrapped in a stealthy dak grey/black aluminum body that’s only downfall is it’s a fingerprint magnet. The exterior has a bit of shine to it but the interior surface area is more of a matte finish. A first for me is what ASUS calls “ASUS antibacterial guard”, with 99% bacterial inhibition. They say it’s ISO 22196 tested and last 3+ years. As dirty as electronic devices can get I see this as nothing but a positive.
Besides a beautiful display you get specs that will make daily task easy. A Core i9 processor, 16gb of RAM upgradable to 24, integrated and dedicated graphics with Nvida RTX3050 and a 1TB SSD. The power button has an integrated fingerprint scanner for logging in without entering a password. Once setup, press the power button with the fingerprint you registered and the computer powers and opens up within 10 seconds. Port wise you have two USB C and one is a thunderbolt, two USB A, full-size HDMI, Ethernet port, headphone jack and an sd card reader. The camera has privacy filter which when closed shows an orange dot, I like this implementation as you definitely know the camera is truly off. When you first see it you think it’s a sticker but it’s not, it’s there permanently when it’s closed. All laptops should have this type of privacy for webcams.
ASUS I believe claims up to 10 hours of battery life but in my daily usage I feel this is optimistic. Maybe with all settings optimized for battery life and not performance, it’s possible. The My ASUS software would make that easy as it allows easy customization for settings such as this in an easy to access and understand area. I always take most pc laptop manufacturers battery claims with a grain of salt though. When on the go, you can charge it with the included barrel plug charger but also thru the USB-C/Thunderbolt ports also. If you need a laptop with good specs but want a beautiful display to match, this one should be on your short list.

1. Bad battery life, but I already knew that after reading reviews. Just keep the power cord handy! 2. Added a 32 gb ram to total 40...no issues. 3. Added a 2nd 1 tb m.2 and was super easy to install. 4. The oled is amazing. I originally bought this to use with my benq 4k x3100i projector but i enjoy the laptop screen. 5. Get a cheap laptop cooling fan and it will keep it cool with strenuous activity. 6. I use the usb c to connect to my 1440p ultrawide monitor. Both screens run at 120 no issues. Multitasking with plex, epson print layout, and kodi simultaneously. The i9 is a beast. 7. It is a joy to use. Very nice keyboard, lots of ports, and blazing file speed!

Bought open-box. Good choice
Graphics card can handle some decently messy graphics in MMOs
It does get a little toasty when gaming, but nothing compared to the older gen MSI I have.
Speedy processing, replaced an old i5 Samsung 2-in-1 laptop.
OLED screen is gorgeous, upscales a lot of videos more than I was expecting.
If you care about it, yea, it is a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but doesn't bug me for what else I get out of it.
No touch screen, good sound. The sound does rattle the laptop a little at higher volumes. Can be really annoying if you're writing for long periods.
Don't game on battery, it's not designed for that. The battery life is solid for lower intensity tasks, but higher intensity is going to drain battery faster.

It was tough deciding on this laptop and a few others. I am a photographer that had an aging laptop and decided on this one and have no regrets. There is no fancy name on this laptop, like the Zenbook, but has all of the specs that I needed and more. This laptop is referred to as the creator’s laptop if you need a name. It handles Lightroom and PS with ease - even the larger RAW files. I love that it has an SDcard reader which makes transferring photos so simple. The screen is gorgeous and covers all of your color gamuts including sRGB and Abobe. It allows you to make the necessary adjustments before processing. I wouldn’t recommend this for gaming, even though they rated the graphics card higher than it should be. The battery life is not great, but it’s the price you pay for that amazing processor. Despite the minor flaws, if you are a photographer this is perfect. The extra money you saved by purchasing it can go to new glass!

As a full stack developer, I recently purchased the ASUS Vivobook 15.6" Creator Laptop, and I am thrilled with its performance. This machine is a powerhouse, equipped with the Intel 13th Gen Core i9 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card, making it perfect for both creative tasks and everyday use. The 16GB memory and 1TB SSD provide ample space and speed for all my applications and files.
One of the standout features for me has been the battery life. It holds up incredibly well even during intense usage, which is a significant plus for someone like me who needs to work on the go. The HD display is crisp and vibrant, enhancing my viewing and editing experiences.
I have encountered no issues so far; the laptop runs smoothly and efficiently. It's not just a tool for my creative projects but has also proven to be an excellent device for entertainment and daily tasks. The sleek black finish is the cherry on top, making it look as good as it performs.
Overall, I would rate this laptop as Excellent. If you're in the market for a robust and reliable laptop that can handle a variety of tasks, the ASUS Vivobook 15.6" Creator Laptop is a fantastic choice.

I would give the ASUS 15.6" OLED Laptop - Intel Core i9 - NVIDIA RTX3050 6GB with 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD - Black SIX stars if I could!!! Hands down this is the best lap top I have ever owned!!! And I have owned quite a few. I actually have 2 other Gaming lap tops that also have the RTX3050 GPU in them, and this lap top completely destroys them gaming, even if I set all the settings to the exact same. The I9 processor is a BEAST! The I9 is so strong that the benchmarks I ran listed the GPU as 100% bottlenecked. The other laptops I tested listed between 2% and 45% GPU bottleneck with the same graphics card. This laptop actually beats my daily driver PC for performance! The set up was quick and easy, and only took an hour or so to get everything up to date with all of the latest drivers. The keyboard and trackpad work great, and I love the backlighting. The wireless connectivity is simple and I had my laptop connected to my WiFi in less than a minute. The Bluetooth conectivity worked awesome as well and I was able to install my wireless mouse and keyboard with just a few easy steps. But the thing that really blew me away is the OLED display... it's just so beautiful!!! I seriously just want to watch all my shows on my lap top now instead of my 75" LED TV... The colors on the OLED are amazing! The blacks are inky dark, yet still show all the little details... and that was even before I figured out that I could also enable HDR... for some reason HDR wasn't the default setting on my screen, most likely to save battery power, but when I went looking into the settings to turn up the brightness, I also turned on the HDR, and I was blown away!!!! I rewatched some of my favorite movie scenes that have lots of darkness and shadows, while also having bright splashes of color, and the contrast was breathtaking! I'm still amazed that a picture can look that amazing on a lap top.... now my flat screen looks bland, lol! This laptop really packs the horsepower, and with the included thunderbolt port, and high speed USB C, it's ready to be connected to all of your professional devices and put to work... while also being better at games than your gaming laptop, and better at movies and videos as well. The sound quality is actually pretty good as well... but the volume and bass levels could be louder... but then it would be to perfect, and I'd wake up and it would all be just a dream...

This is hands down the best all around laptop for the price. I purchased this laptop on sale for $1,099. This is an outstanding value for a 13Gen i9 with 16GB RAM, 1TB NVME, and a RTX3050 with an amazing Pantone certified 2k OLED screen. Any other laptop close to these specs costs up to twice as much. The only downside is that it is a fingerprint magnet, but that can be overlooked for all of the pluses. I did upgrade the RAM to 24GB and added a second 2TB NVME drive for less than $200. This laptop breezes through Lightroom and does a decent job encoding 4k video in DaVinci Resolve. Can play most AAA games on medium settings and Diablo IV on Ultra.

I wanted to love this pc, and on paper it should have been perfect. I purchased it open box and it was in excellent condition as the listing stated. However, it fell short. I returned it after about 9 days. The oled screen is beautiful. The machine is powerful, but it cannot stay cool to save it's life. This could probably be an amazing streaming and creation device but do NOT expect it to run games. 5 minutes of Palworld on the lowest setting makes it overheat and shutdown. All those specs are useless if the machine can't stay on. I propped it up, made sure it was well ventilated, got a cooling stand, and it still just couldn't handle it. Shoot I'd rather gameplay be choppy and still run than it running full speed and shutting down automatically every 3-5 minutes. The form factor is nice. 15.6 oled is a perfect viewing experience imo. It's light and easy to move around. 2 other small complaints is that it is a fingerprint magnet, and it the screen goes black for a sec any time you switch from battery to plugged in and back. I wanted to love it, but if it can't even stay on for low setting games it's useless for me.
