Was looking for a reasonably well priced laptop that runs smooth and fast. I found it with this laptop. I love that its a 2-in-1 and how easy it is to navigate. I prefer chrome books over windows. Also the simplicity of the layout is great.

I love this Chromebook, even though it has an issue with not being able to see what key your hitting because of the backlit keyboard. With the keyboard back light on, and the silver color of the keys, the letters kinda disappear making it hard to see them. So I purchased a keyboard guard protector from Amazon , it makes each key a different color made of soft silicone molded perfectly to fit this Chromebook and I'm able to see each key letter, works perfect.

Worked great for simple tasks. My screen one day went completely black and had to call asus to see if it was a monitor repair and now I have to send it in to get repaired. Happed out of nowhere so hopefully have good luck with getting a new one back quickly.

Dear Raina, Usually, the following can be performed if the Chromebook will not boot up or it's just a blackscreen. Please verify if the AC adapter is properly connected from the Chromebook to a known good, working surge protector or AC outlet. Try to connect it to another known good power source. If running it with battery only, please make sure the battery has an ample amount of charge. If this was tried to no avail, please try to disconnect the AC adapter and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory and reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the Chromebook until the battery was charged. If you need further assistance with ASUS products, please email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to help. Or, call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat. Thank you for choosing an ASUS product. Regards, Rodel ASUS Customer Loyalty Asus

It's a home computer too with a dongle or two and

It was this, the 713 or the Go for a bit more with less power. The 713 was out of stock and the extra $100 or so isn't worth it unless you need an i5 for productivity or games instead of an i3 (not sure it helps with graphics). So far as the screen it's gorgeous, the speakers are ok, the backlit keys are fine, speed is very good. I mostly just cruise the www and watch youtube / flix / etc. Haven't really given it a challenge with a large doc or database or anything. But as an interim productity with messaging and probably calling too (if you have Google FI ... twenty bux a month! with no data, 10$ a gig max $60 month extra) with minimal productivity needs, notetaking etc, it's great. Get a usb c dongle that gives you two live usb a outlets and replaces the usb c power input with one of it's own. You can use the HP's second usb c outlet for the monitor (I'm using usb > displayport adapter cord). Then a dongle on the other side for a keyboard and a mouse and you can run a second screen above the Chromebook. YES IT IS A HOME COMPUTER TOO!

I read reviews on this chromebook and just about all the pros and cons are true. The Pros: Nice clear big screen. Fast and easy to operate and set up. Light weight and thin. Everything works great. For all those that thought the key board is hard to read during the day, they are wrong. Just turn down the backlit keyboard brightness at it's fine. The only Con: Hard to open when closed and you need two hands. Overall, great product

This chromebook is killer. Love the way it looks. Reminds me of a macbook pro. Sleek, metal solid design. Backlit keyboard is awesome and is a 2 in 1 design where screen will rotate all the way around. I have a Awesome gaming laptop but for business batter sucks and is heavy so this is why I bought this. Zoom meetings, surfing the net, XBox cloud gaming (yes you heard right) or Google stadia cloud gaming. This does work with xbox one controller via bluetooth and even works with PC dongle. Also works with Stadia controller. Better life is killer. I have gotten about 11 hours to 10 hours depending on brightness and what I am doing but for the price this things kills if. Yet if you want to do some hard core gaming maybe PUB G or android games I am not sure how this works because I have not tried but for surfing the net, cloud gaming, typing, watching videos, Zoom etc this is amazing. Go get it you will be happy you did.

This is my first Chromebook. If you are looking for the very best one for your money, I recommend this one highly. There are a lot of reasons why. *Not only is it great looking, and really thin and therefore very portable, it's very sturdy. The feel of it is not cheap and in no way feels flimsy in any way I can think of. *The speakers are incredible. When I first played Youtube on it, the volume was nearly as high as it could go, and as a new user when I was fumbling around trying to find the volume buttons, I realized that while loud, the sound was GREAT. I've never owned a laptop that had speakers this good. An impressive surprise! *The screen is amazing. It's very bright & clear, and when you are using the touch capabilities (I came from the original Surface Pro, so for years I'm used to scrolling and touching via the screen, preferring to bypass the touchpad) the screen isn't too super-slick or too super-sticky; it feels good. I believe I remember seeing it's Gorilla Glass? The screen also almost reaches all the outer edges, giving it an amazing look. *The battery life is awesome. I charged it to 100% when I first got it home, and I think I put about 9-10 hours into it before I got to 7% last night and decided to charge. I kept the brightness settings at the default levels, which I think were about 75% of the way up. *The convertible aspect is great. I usually use it in a laptop position, but have tried tablet mode (not my favorite personally, but impressively the keys against my lap seemed to be disabled in that position) as well as where the screen faces up and the rest of the unit is behind (presentation mode; great for YouTube and streaming.) *The price was great. I originally wanted the C434, but found this one on sale and the only difference I could see was this one's listing on the site says the keyboard isn't backlit. (Actually, it is.) Because the price difference was significant, I went for this one due to the sale. Upon watching further reviews, I think the only difference between this one and the 434 is that this one has a plastic keyboard surround, not aluminum. Aluminum feels cold to me anyway so the 433 having a plastic keyboard surround is not a detraction. Here are a few of my cons: *I believe this was an open-box item and was not labeled as such. The box had a piece of tape holding it shut, the screen didn't have a clear protector on it as so many devices with screens do, the device is named Amber Lake Y Chromebook which doesn't seem like a standard (and I was never asked to name the device), and when I first opened it, it warned me that OS was rebooting and everything previously on it would be lost. I believe it was wiped and put back as if it was new, but I really suspect it wasn't finished before it was put back on the shelf. Since their open-box items are cheaper, I was displeased by this greatly. (Not to mention the item was misrepresented.) And it wasn't even the last piece in stock so it's not like the associate HAD to pick that one to give to me. *The chromebook is hard to open. Each and every person I hand it to comments on this. It's impossible to open from its sitting position on a desk or table. You pretty much have to pry it open from a vertical position. I'm sure they wanted the hinges tight for the 360 degree angles, but I still find it tough to open. Overall, totally recommended.

This is an awesome Chromebook for virtual learning purposes. It is compatible with all of the necessary apps and Google friendly. This Chromebook has a 14 inch touch screen and can be used in a laptop fashion, completely folded over for a tablet like use or propped up like a tent for tabletop viewing. The screen has vivid color and the touch sensor is spot on. My 6 year old uses this for her virtual learning and I am hoping this will last her through the next couple of years. The processor is fairly decent, memory is more than sufficient for her use and I don't really have any complaints at all. We have only had it for a month, but again it is holding well. The charge will last us 2 days and thats with 8 am-4pm use daily.

I bought it open box and it didnt have as much battery life as I expected. The touchscreen is also a little grippy and your finger does not slide over it well. Also, the hinge requires two hands to pry open. Other than that, a solid performer, especially for the price! (bought for $279 in 2021)

Let me tell you, this laptop is a GODSEND. I went from an old, 17-inch, heavy, slow, all-around-horrible laptop to this absolute marvel. It has so many wonderful features, such as a charging port on BOTH SIDES! It is so fun to sit in bed and flip it around like a tent and watch Hulu. And the BATTERY! I use my laptop for school and am probably on it about 5 hours a day or so. This baby can go up to three days without being charged. Another thing I noticed is that no matter the angle you view the screen, you can clearly see what is on it, unlike other laptops where you have to view it at a certain angle. The four speakers on the side and bottom produce an AMAZING sound and are definitely qualified for binge-watching in bed. The only thing I do not entirely like is the fact that the keyboard is silver and the letters on the keys are clear so the backlight can go through because, in a bright setting, I can't see the letters too well. As with all Chromebooks, there isn't a caps lock button so that the magnifying glass thing that brings up the apps can be on the keyboard, which is honestly more useful than a caps lock button. Because of the thinness of the laptop, there are very few exports, with one USB port, a headphone jack, and a micro SD card. The touchscreen is wonderful but of course, the fingerprints add up and get annoying after not cleaning it for a few days. TL;DR: amazing laptop with a great battery, a great screen, and awesome speakers that is super easy to carry around with keys that are sometimes hard to see.

This is a great chromebook. It has a really substantial feel (though a bit heavy at 3.3lbs for 14inch) even though the keyboard deck is plastic. PROS - Sturdy feel - Nice ergonomic hinge that slightly raises keyboard for easier typing. - Good screen - Excellent keyboard - Solid performance CONS - Screen a little dim - 4gb ram a bit low The biggest drawback to this Chromebook is definitely the 4gb ram. It would be a good deal with 8gb, but if you can get it a a good discount it's still worth it.

Haven't used a Chromebook before so we weren't sure what to expect but we only needed it for web surfing and basic tasks so this works perfect! We can use it as a tablet with the touchscreen or as a laptop and it is great for both! Long battery life, speedy, and super easy to use! If I had to have a complaint, it would be that I cannot turn off my password to log in. This is kept in our house and doesn't travel anywhere so we don't have a need to secure it.

No complaints yet, but haven't used it a whole lot. Like any chromebook, it boots up in a j8ffy and the battery is long lasting. There is only one port that can accomodate a thumb drive so I cant use that and a mouse at the same time, but I can live with that. The size is just right, it's not heavy at all, and the bottom is magnetic.

This is my second ASUS Chromebook. I liked my first quite a bit, but they are no longer updating it. I thought I would miss the smaller size (10 inch screen) because of ease of carrying it around. I don't. This fits easily in my messenger bag. I like the expanded memory over my previous Chromebook. I also added a 256 sd card. In addition there is a USB port and a USB C port (not counting the USB C port for the power cord). Sweat! Also, this is so much faster than my previous Chromebook and is updated until 2026. I didn't know if I would like the back lit keyboard, but it is really nice at dusk and after to keep working without eye strain. If you're into Chromebooks like I am, then this is a great model to choose.

Picked this up for my nephew for at home schooling during COVID because the other one I purchased for him overheated, I will not name the brand but it is a major brand and was not worth fixing after owning it less than a year. Asus is a good brand and the specs on this 14inch laptop and the price was a great buy. So far it has been running the same since the day it was brought home and mishandled by a 7 and 10 year old. Highly recommend if you can get it at a sale price and if you are looking for a reliable laptop for young kids that need it for school. Very easy to use and light weight for a laptop this size and the touch screen option is always a plus.
