Great little laptop for the money. I intend on upgrading a the memory and storage on it as it's rather low out of the box, however, it sure makes for a good base machine that has loads of capability to it.

Bought for my wife and she loves it. She’s a pretty big gamer and her old laptop could barely handle most of her games. From what shes said this one is by far a step up

I was on the hunt for a new laptop that could serve as a work laptop, have a reasonably sized screen and also be a decent gaming laptop for when I travel. Researching all of the available laptops took some time but finally I decided on the ASUS TUF Gaming F17. What made me choose this laptop? It all came down to the components inside the laptop. The F17 I purchased came with an 11th Gen i7, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, wifi 6, and capable of handling gig internet. On paper, that laptop should be a pretty beefy little rig. Sadly, my experience has been the opposite. Once I got the laptop setup and running, I would say it worked fine for about 2 weeks before issues started happening. The first issue was the backlit keyboard. When the laptop would go into sleep mode, the keyboard would start flickering at random. Next issue was trying to put the laptop into sleep or shut it down. More often than not, the laptop would end up shutting down when I attempted to put it sleep mode. Occasionally when I try to shutdown the laptop, it looks like it is shutting down, but will then reboot as if I clicked restart instead of shutdown. I spoke with Asus' tech support numerous times. It was always, reboot, make sure drivers are updated, the end and zero resolution.
As far as using this laptop for gaming, I've already given up on that dream. I hardly have anything saved on the laptop, but the majority of the games I tried ended up completely crashing the laptop. Since receiving no help from tech support, I have decided to throw in the towel and only use the laptop for work related activities.
After I purchased the laptop, I was speaking with a friend that I game with. After telling him about all of the issues with the laptop, he told me he wished I would have talked to him prior to my purchase because he has owned two Asus laptops and both gave him underwhelming performances. Regretfully, I wish I would have spoken with him too because now I am left with a gaming laptop that can't play games. Hopefully my laptop is a fluke and no one else will have problems, but with the price tag on these things being what they are, I will not be taking that chance with Asus again.
