So I will have to update to detail longevity. For now I'm getting almost 1gb wireless speeds on my phone. Definitely can't complain about that. It's huge and beautiful with the ROG LEDs, i just want it to last. Super easy plug and almost play. Price is crazy expensive tho.

Bought three to setup the ultimate AiMesh

I bought three of these to setup the ultimate AiMesh network to upgrade from my Orbi AC3000 system. I bought these for VPN fusion and better parental controls and aiprotection. The range on these is pure garbage. On the phone with Asus did nothing to fix it. With two of the three units up, i had great connection upstairs, but virtually zero connection downstairs. I tried moving one unit downstairs, and the connection between the two via wireless mesh did not work at all. My previous orbi AC3000 covered my entire house. This was also the first time I setup a new router with the same SSID and password and none of my existing devices recognized it. Even with three units setup, the reception was so bad that my old orbi had 180mbps in the corner of my home, and the new Asus routers had 0.38mbps. This was the worst experience with routers I’ve ever had. Also, setting up each router to upgrade the firmware only to reset them to factory in order to setup the Aimesh is unbelievably inconvenient and even after all that, having it perform worse than my old orbi setup is abysmal. Im posting the speeds from my old orbi setup in my downstairs vs the new speeds with the three unit asus setup.

      Dear Rivcogent,

We certainly understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused.

If you are experiencing no wireless connection when the routers are moved, please verify if the units are within a 30 feet range and no obstructions exist between the routers, and are away from electronic or electrical devices that generates RF or electrical noise. Definitely, this will cause interference and will affect the signal of the router. Also, we recommend updating the firmware on the routers if outdated.

Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

One of the best routers I’ve ever owned. The coverage is much better for my two story apartment. The setup was simple and the ASUS interface is very intuitive. I have gigabyte speed and this router gets me close to the speeds. The only down side is WiFi 6E. It’s a new technology and some of the devices that I own are compatible to WiFi 6E however the devices are not picking up the wireless signal for 6E for some reason. I suppose you pay for bleeding edge technology and it will probably take a good while for manufacturers to catch up with the current WiFi 6E technology. Other than that I think the price on this router is a big too high. Compared to the last gen model this is $100 more! I don’t feel that this router has improved by $100.

WOW!! - OK, I generally purchase the last generation or 2nd last gen routers and use them for about 5 years. The logic is that for the most part, router specs that go beyond the paid for internet speeds are generally a waste when only considering browsing. Was I wrong... This router replaced a recently purchased WiFi 6 Mesh router system from a competing brand. In general, that wifi mesh system offering much fast wifi speeds even on wifi 5 bands than my previous single AC router provided. This single router now provides more than 2x the throughput of the previous WiFi6 mesh system with just a single box. For WiFi 6 clients, I am now getting full 500mbit internet speeds on wireless and my PCs connected transmit/receive rate in the same room is in excess of 1Gbit. More importantly, with the array of antennas, this device can support many more simultenous clients with less degradation in throughput. Setup was very easy and quick. If you also want advanced control of the configuration, constant monitoring of client level bandwidth utilization and applications as well as extensive logging and monitoring, this router will not disappoint. It's also nice to see that you have lifetime subscription to a security service where many competing routers only offer a short trial subscription. I cannot be happier and more pleasantly surprised with this router. In this case -you definitely get what you pay for. A premium price but really premium performance. No need in my 3,600 Sq FT 3 level home for a mesh system with this router installed in a central location. Great wifi speed throughout and into the backyard. One other point: When telcos provide higher internet speeds, > 1GBit -this router is ready with a 2.5GB WAN input as well as the ability to dual provision your router across 2 providers.

I have been reading about this router for months anxiously waiting for someone to get it in stock. The wait was worth it! Very simple to setup and the performance has been exceptional. Can wait to get my new laptop with its WiFi 6E adaptor and see how this performs. As far as connecting my other devices very easy and able to reach all devices on the first and second floor of my home. My Iphone 11 Pro Max is definitely benefiting from the AX connection. Yes its expensive but I think its worth it!

I'm not sure about folks saying this is not ready for prime time. I have a full suite of asus routers and this has been a step up from the ac-5300 and ax-6100. I have a mesh with those routers and this axe11000 as the master mind. It is pretty strong, in my 2700 sq foot house most devices will favor the connection to my axe11000 which I was surprised. I have a gig up and down and my note 10 gets 750 down and 735 up with direct line of sight. Lowest exetreme I'm at 210 down and 175 up. I'm sold on asus for life! The only regret was it was a bit steep on the price.

So up until now I’ve owned Netgear routers. My old Netgear AC router was dying so I had to choose a new one. I am the type who likes buying the best to future proof my house. So it was between this Asus and the Netgear AXE11000. Since my gaming PC is loaded with ROG parts and this was cheaper I decided to go with the Asus. It is a great little router and beats the pant off the range of my old one. The only downside here is the price. There is no way this costs even remotely close to the price that is charged to make it, but I have no control over that. The price is why I couldnt give it 5 stars. For most people its also overkill to get this one too.

Thought this was gonna be an animal of a router but was left disappointed in the end. It works but not well. Tons of settings on it that you will have to research what they do. I did the research and couldn't get this router to beat either of my internet providers routers. My service 1 router has wifi 6 and the asus had less range than it. I tested the speeds while in an area where they were both at 3 bars on my phone and the asus was always 200-300 mbps slower. At point blank the asus was getting mid 500 speeds while my 1st service provider was getting high 700. My other provider is fiber and uses a 2.4 and 5ghz only router and 2 signal bars on that router was still over 150mbps faster than 4bars on the asus. The setup and research is a pain on this and it's super expensive for what it really does. I setup the dual wan since I have 2 providers and I didn't see a difference either. Only cool thing about this is the cosmetic looks and the lights. Once you learn how to use the settings though it does allow you a bunch of good features. All that aside though... if you can't beat the range and strength of a service providers routers than it's useless to own this.

      Dear Bose,

I certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing slow connection speed.

To resolve the issue, please check if the router is running with the most current firmware version. Also, verify if your ISP's modem meets the system requirements of the router. For information on how to setup the router correctly, please go to: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1045515/.

    Powerful Wi-Fi and Very Fast

Comcast had upped my service to 400Mbps, but I was getting the same 180Mbps that I had been getting for years when I had 200Mbps and 300Mbps services. I had just updated my home backbone to a 10Gbps and was not happy with my speed. My old router (Cisco) had all 1Gbps ports and was based on Wi-Fi N so I decided it might be my bottle neck. I was also running a Wi-Fi AC access point at one end of my house to get enough signal where I needed it. Replacing my old router was fairly straight forward and the Asus system was easy to navigate. I decided on this unit because it had the new 6GHz band that the newer devices would be able to take advantage of; I don't have any, but my 74 year old mom does and I thought she might like the speed when she comes to visit. The fact that this router had a 2.5Gbps port was a plus. I only had one problem with my upgrade, my Asus Tuf Gaming Notebook would not connect with the new router other than on the 2.4GHz band. Asus had a card that listed the Intel Wi-Fi card that my notebook used along with a big list, and had a not to upgrade the driver to 20.70.0 or later. My driver was 22.40.0.7 so I did not try to update it. After hours of not making good progress, I gave up for the night. The next day, after work, I again tried seeing what I could find and was not making progress. The Asus sheet said to go to Intel download center so I decided to give that a try. Intel showed the 22.40.0 as the current driver, but I noticed my version had a March 3 2021 date and the Intel site had a date at the end of March so I decided to download the driver pack and run the install. The driver ended up with the same version (22.40.0.7) as I had before but now, my computer was recognizing the 5GHz band from the GT-AXE11000; It had been working fine on the 5GHz band from my AC access point. I switched to the 5GHz band from the GT-AXE11000 and I had much stronger signal than the old N router and was able to get around 300Mbps on a download test. I can't wait to test a AXE (Wi-Fi 6) device on the system, but everything is running much faster. My Roku devices were getting about 20-25 Mbps and now are getting 50-70 Mbps. My Amazon 2019 Fire 10 gets 330 Mbps if I am close and 220 Mbps at the other end of the house. Now that I got the driver issue fixed (not sure what the issue was) I could not be happier with my purchase; I'm getting a second to use as an access point and will be upgrading the AC access point I still use for extended outside coverage.

So far, so good. Upgraded from net gear 3200 router that was a big disappointment. Although i am not using the 6g network yet, i decided to be ready. I really like that every option is available, and relatively easy to find in the software. i am still using my netgear 8000 as an AP to extent the range. So far it is working great. Do a lot of streaming, and no longer get any buffering. This is definitely function over form, so took of 1 star, since it is one big A..ugly router. i put together a while plastic cover to hide it against a wall. So don't even see it now.

This is a beast of a router and is excellent for gamers. It has a very intuitive interface with plenty of options for customization. My only wish is that they would update the firmware more often, because even after all this time it still has the occasional hitch and requires a reboot to fix it. Overall though, the 6E on this is absolutely stellar and the screaming fastest Wifi I've ever seen.

**I use this for personal, business, and gaming*** This WiFi router is powerful. I am very impressed with the signal strength and reliability. The admin panel is full of great features. Unlike my Netgear router, which charges you for protection (makes you buy BitDefender internet security suite, which if you already have another on your devices it’s redundant) the AiProtection Pro is powered by TrendMicro, which is still one of the best in the industry and what most Fortune 500 companies use anyways. I enjoy the integrated VPN support as well for extra privacy. The performance as far as speed and low latency is top notch. I run a private server and it really works great. The value of this router even at the price is worth it. It is ready for the future with the 6Ghz signal and the features are equal to, or outperform the other competitors. It is quiet and stays cool when you’re using every bit of that 1GB memory and the 1.8Ghz quad core processor.

Coming from a 6+ years old Linksys WRT, I needed something that packed the power that router used to provide when new. The AXE11000 doesn't disappoint. Via the app, setting it up is a breeze. I found performance superior to my antiquated router with more available options through the app. A nice touch is the ability to change the Aura RGB (i.e. the ASUS logo on top of the router) which is similar to the ambient lighting found in some cars. One caveat, make sure you have enough space as this router is massive. It's roughly the size of stacking two reams of 8.5 x 11 copy paper.

Bought this router because I have lots of PCs, mobile devices, and IoT devices in my home and wanted something that could handle all of them and not bog down with gaming and streaming. It did well for all of that. Also liked faster port to hook up to my 10G wired network. Also thought interface had lots of features and allowed me great control of my network. More stable than my previous Netgear AX12 router. What I did not like were the antenna. One of them broke off in my hand when adjusting it. The plastic is quite brittle, and the antenna are not replaceable. Glad I bought the protection plan from BB.
