So I was going through things on my computer. It’s been almost a month since I had it but also work 60+ hours a week. This is important! If you buy. Check everything out and make sure it has all the specs they claim. It doesn’t come with 2 terabytes. Comes with 1. After 15 days your SOL!!!

It is a nice machine. My problem is it came with a 1tb hard drive and not the 2tb, and when I realized it I was told it was too late to do anything about it. My fault for not checking sooner but I’m not super tech savvy.

Wow wow wow, what a pc! Let’s dive right in.
Looks: this gaming desktop is sleek and sexy, and pairs well with any UHD monitor(s) The chassis is filled with led’s to fully immerse you into a gaming realm, or just an all around relaxing vibe. Not only is the chassis visually appealing, but it’s functional with a mesh front panel which allows all the air necessary to keep the internal components cool. There is an option to have your pc fan-cooled or liquid-cooled. I really like the convenient hidden headset holder along the side of the unit. Also, the built-in carrying strap makes moving this desktop beast pretty easy. While unboxing, immediately understood why this addition was needed….this thing is pretty heavy.
The desktop comes fully equipped with ample connection ports for your peripherals; a total of 3 HDMI ports, 4 x DisplayPort 1.4 connections, 2 usb 3.2, 4 usb 2.0, a keyboard/mouse combo port, 1 LAN port, 3 audio jacks that support 7.1 channel audio (with Dolby Atmos support and two-way noise cancellation)…but wait, there’s more! You also get front panel connections; 2 usb type C 3.2 gen 1 connections, 2 usb type A 3.2 gen 1, 1 mic in, and 1 headphone out connection, along with Bluetooth 5.3. There are ample connections for anything you can possibly want to add to your rig. Oh, I almost forgot to mention you also have built-in RGB control software.
Now, how it performs…the desktop is lightning fast and seamless in processing speed. Boot up was lightning fast as well. Next, I downloaded a game (54GB) which took roughly 5 minutes to download. Throughout gameplay the cooling fan remained at a whisper, the graphics remained smooth and fluid without any lag. I then let the game continue running in the background while opening 20 separate browser windows with multiple tabs in each window, all running different websites with as much movement on each site as possible. The pc handled this with ease. I also paired my pc via Bluetooth to a 7.1 channel soundbar and there were no errors in sound. Audio output was just as seamless as the every other aspect of this awesome machine.
The performance of this desktop is beyond impressive. The graphics output is crisp and accurate, and sound is phenomenal hard wired or wireless. I absolutely recommend this gaming pc for anyone looking to elevate their gaming experience! 5 stars from me!

Powerful Gaming Machine with a 4060 ready to go!

This machine has everything blazing and ready to go for every application.
32GB of Ram installed via two onboard m.2 Slots.
6 Sata Ports ready for SD expansion should you need it.
NVIDIA RTX 4060 with 8GB. Right here is 90% of the power of this gaming machine with a G3D Benchmark score of 22892. So it's going to run just about everything at the highest gfx settings.
The main cpu is a respectable Intel Core i7-14700F. Mainboard PCI-E 5.0.
The case is a midtower big enough to house the mainboard, gfx card and all your connectors in the convenient spaces. One feature that's somewhat unusual is a carry strap! So you can haul it easily around. Another is having a flip out holder for your headphones.
On a business side, it's ready to go. Boots up fast, bluetooth ready for all your peripherals, plenty of USB back and front. Photoshop loads FAST. Especially off the solid state drives. As well as your images. The network adapter is 6e so your wifi is as fast as possible too for uploading and downloading.
I plan on doubling the ram and adding way more SSD bricks to make this machine a monster.
The one blemish on the experience sadly was support. Just getting to asus live-chat support yielded an HTTP 405 Server error. After a while it started working again. Support was a little slow to respond and answer any questions.. and then tried to transfer me to the component group. That completely didn't work and the whole chat session was then stuck into a login-loop.
Apart from that, I feel confident this will be my new primary machine for years to come.

One of the Worst expensive purchases I’ve ever made. Bought one on Black Friday good thing I didn’t wait until Christmas to open it. Audio was NOT working I had to reinstall drivers and all to find that “Audio Services were not responding” brought it back to Best Buy the next day for them to say leave it there or exchange. I exchanged waited another 5 days for the new one. Brought the new one home and 5 hours later same problem “Audio Services Not Responding”! Waste of Time and Money. Stay away from this Garbage! You should not have to buy a brand new computer and have to go through all these problems. Garbage Trash! I’m returning Again!

No Upgrades Required – Cool Performance
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Bottom Line: All too often I have found prebuilt gaming systems that have cut corners which impact the performance of the quality components in the build but this Asus desktop was properly spec’d to get the most out of its high performance components. This desktop is a mid-tier prebuilt computer that should meet the demands of most gamers without needing any upgrades or modifications.
Here are things that you need to know about this Desktop performance and upgradeability:
- I ran this pc through multiple stress test (see photos) as well as several intense gaming sessions and at no point did the cpu or gpu ever reach a temperature that concerned me. I game with a 2560 x 1440 QHD monitor that runs at 165 hz.
- Because the liquid cooler does such a great job the fans run at lower rpms so the computer is generally quiet. When I game I run the computer usually in Performance mode via Armory Crate however even when I run in Turbo mode the fans are less noisy than other prebuilt systems I have used.
- The case is small and tight so there is a very limited amount of space to add anything in the main cavity. Because of its small size and built in fabric handle its easy to move around.
- My system came with two 16 gb SK Hynix DDR5 5600 mhz memory sticks which is the fastest stock ram you can get for the Intel 14700F cpu. Asus does not lock down the bios and there are lots of options for those who like to tweek their systems.
- There is enough space and mounting for a single internal hard drive next to the power supply. Asus does provide extra power and Sata cables. See the photo of the hard drive mounting space. It’s a tight fit but if you want to add a hard drive its certainly possible.
- The case has ventilation holes in the top and the front of the chassis and the rear exhaust fan is 120 mm fan. Combined with the liquid cooler the system stays reasonably cool even when stressed. See the photo of the 3D Mark stress test and the temps reported.
- The CPU cooler is an Asus liquid cooler that uses dual 150 mm fans which are mounted in the top of the case.
- There is enough space and mounting holes to mount a 150 mm fan in the lower front of the case. I don’t think this is necessary with the current components. See the photo of the fan mounting on the lower front panel.
- The RGB lighting is supplied by two led strips inside the cabinet and a single strip on the front cover. None of the fans or memory sticks or liquid cooler are RGB. The RGB colors and patterns are set using the Aura Sync function in Asus’s Armoury Crate. The end result is a nice RGB set up but its not as flashy as having RGB colored fans in the front panel.
- The storage drives are two single 1 Tb NVMe SSD drives. The primary drive is located under the video card and has a heat sink. The second drive is easier to access but does not have a heat sink. My drives were SN560 Western Digital drives. Because the drives are already installed I would recommend adding an internal hard drive vs upgrading one of the SSDs.
- The power supply is a 750 watt gold which should be plenty for this build. The supply is semi-modular and there are open connector slots for adding power cables to the power supply.
- Asus’s Armoury Crate software is easy to use and provides good monitoring data as well as the ability to help manage the desktop.
After setting up the system and upgrading all the software and firmware I ran it through several benchmark test to see how it would perform and how good it was at handling heat generated by the cpu and gpu. The RTX 4060 Ti did a respectable job but if you want to game at 4k you might want to consider this same system with a RTX 4070 or RTX 4080 instead. Heat was never an issue whether I was doing benchmarks or playing one of my sim racing game the temps never got above 70 degrees Celsius.

Greatly surprised with this pre-built desktop. I always had some doubts about pre built systems, but this one greatly surprised me. First, it came greatly packed on a large box with protective foam all around. I was greatly surprised to find extra cables in a box from the power supply and wifi antenna. If in the future I want to upgrade to a more powerful graphics card that requires more PCIe cables, they included more cables from the power supply (its a nice Gold 750w one).
Its a tall and thin tower. I was greatly surprised by the amount of RGB, it was not obnoxious and was really nice (large strip on the front and lighting inside the case). The system and fans are very quiet, and I was very surprised by this, when I started the PC I could barely hear it, if it wasn't for the lighting I would not have noticed it was on and working. It uses a water cooler AIO for the CPU and they include nice (non rgb) exhaust fans, all very quiet. The included RTX video card uses a single new 12vhpower cable. I must say I'm very picky when it comes to cable management on my PC's and this one greatly surprised me. You can tell great care was put on cable managing the whole thing. I even popped the back panel, where you usually find a rats nest of cables, but no, it was also greatly and neatly put together on the back too (check my pics).
Windows was pre installed and it was a quick start after setting windows up I updated bios, drivers (easily done using Asus auto update software) and I was up an running. The included Nvme drive was super fast and I started downloading and gaming after doing all the updates. The included Nvidia RTX card is fast and its fast enough for 1080p/1440p resolution gaming (4k would be too much for modern games, specially due the video ram). If you notice some games are too heavy, if they support Nvidia's DLSS 3 Ai upscaling, this like black magic. You cand render at a lower internal resolution and using AI it upscales to a higher resolution with minimal hit to performance. If you even want more FPS you can enable Frame Generation (if the game supports DLSS frame gen) and you can easily be in the 80s-100s FPS. The CPU is a latest gen intel, and it is plenty fast for any modern gaming.
I highly recommend this very well built system if you don't to have all the headaches of building a PC, this high quality pre-built will get you up and gaming at high FPS at no time!!!

The Asus ROG is a powerful prebuilt gaming desktop that allows you to have quality components all set and ready to be used right out of the box. It took about five minutes to unbox, connect, and get it started. The aesthetics have been tastefully curated resulting in a desktop that is pleasing to look at regardless of where it is placed. The RGB lighting is customizable using Aurora Sync. The glass panel allows the lighting to show beautifully as well as shows off the hardware. Opening up the case is pretty simple, just unscrew two Philips-head screws on the back and slide the glass panel off. It includes a convenient built-in headset holder that can be folded away when not in use. It also has a carrying strap that makes moving it around so much easier. The box allows for ventilation from the top, bottom, front, and back which provide a great in-flow and out-flow of air to circulate through and keep it cool. Overall, the design and lighting were well-thought out and executed by Asus.
With 32GB memory there is more than enough to allow for some serious multitasking and has room for up to 64GB. Everything loads at lightning speeds, and I have had no issue running various programs plus browsing the internet with a ton of tabs open. That coupled with the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHZ wireless card, and this machine is ideal for a multitasker like me. This computer is at the farthest area of my house from my router and blocked by a brick wall and it still manages to use Wi-Fi faster than in my other computers. The internet speed is comparable to my wired set-up. The 2TB included are enough for a few large data games but I will probably still add more in the future. The PSU is 850W, 80+ gold, peaking at 900W. This is just what is required to run the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, ensuring dependability.
As for actual performance, I have no complaints thus far. It boots up fast, puts up with my multitasking with no lag, and provides a smooth gaming experience. I have tried Battlefield, Fortnite, League of Legends, Dead Space (2023 Remake), Rocket League and all have run smooth and seamlessly. The CPU temp stayed within normal range, peaking at around 50C while playing Dead Space (2023 Remake). I played this game at ultra settings and FPS still managed to surpass the 100s. Throughout my gameplay the fans run so quietly I almost doubted they were on sometimes; every time I checked they were up and spinning though.
Overall, this is a solid prebuilt gaming desktop with great specs. Anyone looking for the convince of a PC that is ready right out of the box will definitely get a quality high performer from this ASUS.

To start off, the specs of this system are perfect for the average gamer. ASUS has assembled an excellent gaming PC with very few trade-offs. To save you some time, let me just say, you can't go wrong with this system. It offers incredible value for the money and incorporates all the latest components. If you're on the fence, allow me to give you a little nudge in the right direction. Keep reading if you want more details, but to be frank, you can't build a system with these specs and end up spending less. People also tend to factor in their time when building PCs. Trust me, get the pre-build.
Quick Specs:
Intel i7-14700F
32GB DDR5 RAM (HUGE IMPROVEMENT)
4060TI 8GB (I do wish this was the 16GB variant)
2TB NVMe (2 x 1TB)
AIO CPU Cooler (Water Cooled)
This computer is ideal for someone jumping into their first gaming PC. It will handle anything you throw at it with modest, mid-range settings. You can expect it to handle 1080P easily, 1440 like a champ, and 4K with several ***. I will break down all of my thoughts on each part of the computer that I think will be most important to the average person looking at this system - I promise to trim the fat.
Case: The case has great airflow and no issues cooling the GPU under load (Stable 63 degrees) despite there only being 3 fans (not including the power supply). The CPU is water-cooled, so there's no concern with cooling there (52 degrees under load). Please note that ALL of the RGB is in the case. There is no RGB on any other component.
Overall Build Quality: Cable management is tidy and clean. I could not ask for a better representation of care and attention to detail.
Component Quality: The only complaints I have are purely aesthetic. There are a few components I wish they paid a little more attention to, but I need to set your expectations - the next few comments are more of a wish list and not at all an issue with the system. Firstly, the RAM sticks are the ugliest pieces of hardware in the system. Not only do they lack RGB, but the boards are green and look like they came out of a computer from 2007. That being said, it's DDR5, and I would gladly take green DDR5 RAM over RGB DDR4. Secondly, the absence of RGB on the RAM, GPU, AIO, and fans makes for a lackluster experience. It's a bit upsetting considering all of those core pieces of hardware aren't exactly something you'll want to swap out after buying a prebuilt PC. Other than that, this computer is rock solid.
Performance: I ran this computer through 3DMARK out of the box, and it scored 13,887. What does that mean? Basically, my computer performed better than 73% of all other computers that logged a test on the platform. Buying this system brings you into the top 27% of gamers... So yeah, it can game. In real gameplay, I saw excellent frame rates, and this ROG system didn't break a sweat.
Upgrade Ability: You definitely could upgrade this system down the road. There's plenty of room for a larger GPU, motherboard, PSU, etc. Let's be real, you're picking this system because you don't want to build it, but we all eventually tinker and upgrade.
I'll wrap it up. You won't be disappointed with this gaming PC. It is the perfect balance of price, performance, and quality. If you haven't clicked "add to cart" by now, I don't know what else I can say. It really is that good for a pre-built PC.

ASUS is well-known for creating gaming systems that offer a perfect blend of style and performance, all at a price point that won't break the bank. And once again, they've knocked it out of the park with their latest addition to the ROG gaming lineup.
This system features an Intel Core i7-14700F processor, 32GB of DDR5 5600 memory, and a spacious 2TB SSD. During my rigorous testing, this system handled everything I threw at it without so much as a studder. Whether I was running MSFS2020 on max settings while hosting a video call or engaging in intense gaming sessions, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060Ti GPU performed like a champ. And thanks to the liquid cooling system, it stayed cool and whisper quiet even under heavy loads.
But it's not just about performance—the little details matter too. I particularly love the built-in headset holder, tucked away neatly inside the chassis for easy access. And the customizable RGB lighting adds a nice touch of personality to the setup.
Key Features:
- Operating System: Windows 11 Home
- Processor: Intel 14th gen i7-14700F
- Graphics: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4060 Ti 8GB GDDR6
- Memory: 32GB (2x16GB 5600 DDR5)
- Storage: 2TB (1TBx2 2280 P4 SSD)
- Power: 850W power supply (80+ Gold, peak 900W)
- Network: Wi-Fi 6E(802.11ax) (Dual band) 2*2 + Bluetooth® 5.3 Wireless Card
Overall, this ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop is a top-tier system, delivering on both performance and style, making it a solid choice for anyone looking to level up their gaming experience.

Impressive build quality, quiet, and room to grow

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This particular version of the ASUS ROG Strix G16H is a reasonably priced offering for the parts it has, with excellent cooling potential, room to grow and get upgraded down the line.
In short, it’s a reasonably sized, sleek system, performs as a 4060 TI / 14700f system should, capable of playing lighter or older games at 4k60, 1440p120, or more, depending on the graphics settings, DLSS support, and various other technologies that have come to be used in modern games.
It came shipped in a box with tons of space between the PC and the sides of the box, with nice, thick foam keeping it in place. It seems very unlikely to receive shipping damage, and is easy to unbox, with nothing but the PC and a small box of accessories inside. They did not include a mouse or keyboard in the package, which I consider a good thing; They’re typically low-quality token items you would never want to use anyway, reducing e-waste.
All the parts are standard, which is great! The PSU has standard ATX connectors, the motherboard has a standard micro-ATX form factor, and the case has standoffs for micro and standard ATX boards. You could mix and match any part from this build with any other off-the-shelf PC parts without any problems, which is great for upgradability and reducing e-waste. The only oddity is that the motherboard is powered by an 8-pin ATX power cable rather than 4+4 pin EPS cable, but that’s not a problem, really, just a quirk to take note of. Any other PSU could power the platform regardless. I suspect this is for ease of assembly for the manufacturer. The accessory box includes a 4+4 pin EPS cable for the semi-modular power supply, in case you ever change the motherboard out, as well as a few other cables for extra SATA/Molex power. The power supply is a 750w 80+ Gold rated unit from Great Wall, which is a reputable supplier for many well-known enthusiast gaming brands.
The cable management is immaculate, and everything was firmly plugged in and secured. Cables behind the tray are all zip-tied and neatly laid out.
Build quality in general is high. There were no loose screws, the GPU was secured firmly by an extra bracket, and there was a minor amount of cosmetic damage on the heatsink for one of the NVME drives. A bit of paint seemed to be chipped off, probably from a screwdriver that slipped. The cable management is very good, everything was fully and firmly plugged in, with excessive slack zip-tied and hidden as much as possible. Even the rear fan cable is tastefully coiled up to minimize its intrusion into the main area of the case. The case design is gamer-y, but not overbearing, and the RGB is tasteful without excess wasted on every single fan and component being RGB enabled.
The memory is a bit slow at CL46 for DDR5-5600, but it’s dual channel, and this is an Intel platform, so it’s not that significant, especially paired with a 4060 TI. Although, I would have liked to see heat spreaders, or black PCBs for the memory - they’re just plain green, unadorned.
The 240mm liquid cooler is far, far more than adequate for the stock power limits for the Intel i7-14700f. With both the GPU and CPU at full load, the system is whisper quiet. That changes as you increase the power limit, obviously. ASUS' Armory Crate software has very little in the way of options for boosting the CPU's power limits. As a non-K sku, the CPU is not overclockable, but it can have its power limit increased. Turbo mode in Armory Crate will give you a long-term power limit of 100w to play with, in comparison to the stock 65w, but that's a far way off from what the CPU/cooler/motherboard can really handle. Intel’s eXtreme Tuning Utility is able to move the power limit even higher than what Armory Crate offers, and you will need to use XTU if you do not want to use Armory Crate, as there are no options in BIOS to move the power limit up, as far as I can tell. The short term limit is ~220w, for about ten seconds, under both performance and turbo presets. The 100w Turbo preset gives about a 26% performance uplift over 65w, in a pure multithreaded benchmark, like Cinebench. Diminishing returns in terms of performance per watt can surely be found the higher you go, but it won’t make much of a difference for gaming. I would like to see ASUS provide their own power slider in Armory Crate, or in the BIOS.
I had expected there to be one 2TB SSD rather than two 1TB SSDs. It's not a problem necessarily, but if you do want more space (in the form of NVME drives) you will have to compensate for the 1TB you're replacing, as you only get two slots on the motherboard.
There's six SATA ports on the motherboard, though nowhere in the case to mount additional SSDs or HDDs. However, as previously stated, all parts are standard, and could be transferred into a different case with more mounting options, if you desired.
Gaming performance is as you would expect; The case design is more than adequate for cooling the 4060 TI, and both the GPU and CPU hardly break above 60c in their default power-limits of 160w and 65w, respectively - while staying virtually silent to boot.
True, native 4k gaming at >60fps is achievable for last-gen games without ray-tracing, and for newer ones, DLSS complicates what "4k" really means anymore. At 1080p or 1440p, you can expect high refresh rates of >120fps in most last-gen titles, or much more in esports oriented games. Hitman 3, on the Dubai benchmark, can handle 4k60 native on ultra (sans ray tracing options) quite handily.
Ray tracing performance is again a difficult benchmark to quantify, given the rampant number of titles with differing upscaling techniques and usage of ray tracing to augment the image. In a purely ray traced title like Quake II RTX, the 4060 TI can manage a steady 29fps at true 4k. Much more at lower resolutions. Shadow of the tomb raider benched at >4k60 on ultra, without ray traced shadows, but required DLSS performance mode to achieve the same with ray traced shadows. YMMV depending on the game. 8GB of VRAM is generally considered suboptimal for 4k, but it really just depends on the game in question.
In summary, this would be an excellent choice for a gamer looking to get into custom PC building sometime in the future, or anyone looking for a solid quality, non-RGB-bonanza-gaudy, gaming prebuilt capable of mid-high tier performance.

This ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop is powered by a beefy Intel Core i7-13700KF processor, a powerhouse that delivers exceptional performance for gaming, streaming, and multitasking. The CPU has 8 efficiency cores, 8 performance cores, and 8 additional threads for a total of 24 logical processors, so this CPU handles even the most demanding tasks with ease, ensuring smooth gameplay and seamless computing experiences.
Backing up the CPU is a generous 32GB of memory, providing ample headroom for multitasking and resource-intensive applications. Whether you're running multiple browser tabs, editing videos, or streaming gameplay, the ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop can handle it all without breaking a sweat. I have many apps open in the background when I’m playing COD MW3 and I see no performance bottlenecks.
Graphics performance is where this desktop truly shines, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060Ti graphics card. Equipped with ray tracing technology and AI-powered Tensor Cores, the RTX 4060Ti delivers stunning visuals and realistic lighting effects, immersing you in your favorite games like never before. I enabled Nvidia DLSS3 on Call of Duty Modern Warfare III with the optimized settings on the Nvidia GeForce Experience app and I was getting a consistent 140 fps. The graphics look gorgeous and the multiplayer gameplay is smooth. The one drawback is the card only has 8 GB of RAM. I would have liked 12 or 16 GB to “future proof” it for at least the next few years as modern games are increasingly becoming very memory hungry.
The ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop sports a sleek and futuristic design that's sure to turn heads. With its angular lines, customizable RGB lighting, and tempered glass side panel, this desktop exudes gaming prowess and sophistication. There’s even a built in handle if you want to move this rig for LAN parties. The thoughtful design extends to the interior, with ample space for upgrades and efficient cooling solutions to keep temperatures in check during intense gaming sessions.
In terms of connectivity, the ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop leaves no stone unturned. It features a comprehensive array of ports: 2 x USB-C 3.2, 4 x USB-A 3.2, 4 x USB-A 2.0, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of peripherals and devices. There are 3 DisplayPort 1.4 and 1 HDMI port. WiFi 6 ensures you’ll have a fast wifi connection, but there is also an Ethernet port.
ASUS's intuitive software suite, including Armoury Crate, allows you to fine-tune performance settings, customize RGB lighting effects, and monitor system performance with ease.
In conclusion, this ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop sets the bar high for gaming performance with its powerful hardware, stunning graphics, and sleek design. Whether you're a hardcore gamer looking for the ultimate gaming rig or a content creator seeking a workstation that can handle demanding tasks with ease, this desktop PC delivers unparalleled performance and versatility. With its high end Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU, customizable RGB lighting, and extensive connectivity options, the ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop is a worthy investment for anyone serious about their gaming experience.

Major upgrade from my last ROG Desktop

Asus really did a nice job this time with the ROG desktop. Powerful processor, great GPU, AOI to keep the hot CPU nice and cool. They even put in a PSU that isn't the min spec for the system.
Since most of you can read, there's no need to rehash the specs from the feature page so I'll go to more specific that might not be included.
The system RAM is 32 GB. They use 2 sticks of 16GB Hynix DDR 5600.There are two free slots to allow for upgrading without having to toss out the 32 already installed. Very good move IMO.
The storage is listed as 2TB, but it's 2x 1TB WD PC SN560 - Western Digital Blue. The only odd thing is that they include a heatsink for drive 1 but 2 is left bare. None of the WD Blue drives I've used had an heat issues without using one, so it's not needed but it would have made for consistent aesthetics.
Asus's AOI cooler does a good job of keep the CPU tamed while gaming. I never worried about thermal throttling during any gaming session - which is mostly Diablo 4 currently. The noise isn't bothersome, but if you're play without headphones or low volume you'll know the fans are blowings.
I'm glad Asus opt'ed to get a higher than required PSU unlike an old ROG desktop I have. The 4060 TI only requires a 550w, but Asus put in a Great Wall 750 modular PSU and included extra cables in case you chose to add more SSDs (no more room for NVME drives).
The front port has 4 usb ports, 2 USB A and 2 USB C. I wish they'd have included more USB C ports in the back since I'm coming across more periphs that use USB C and I'd hate to have those wires dangling from the front of the case.
As for gaming, D4 is handled easily as well as Last Epoch. These aren't real demanding but once raytracing on D4 is implemented it may be another story.
With 8GB of VRAM you'll be limited on what you can do with Stable Diffusion. It renders pretty speedy, but you'll have to tweak your settings for the limited VRAM.
This years mid range ROG desktop is a great machine for anyone looking to upgrade or get into PC gaming.

Normally I like to build my pc’s but time won’t allow it currently. I have had some poor experiences with pre built machines but this is ASUS which I’ve had some great experiences with their grfx cards.
This thing is big! It was packed great and the installation setup was a breeze as it should be. Even before updating drivers I got an incredibly high score on 3dmark time spy test 13370 which would probably be a lot higher now that I updated the bios and drivers.
Some keys that caught me by surprise. So quiet! Obviously it’s well made. Cabling is nice and neat inside the case. Zero issues experienced except one with my router which was the routers fault and fixed easily (mentioned it so if anyone has this issue). I was getting WiFi to drop and went to my router settings and took off smart connect. Simple fix and not reflective of anything with this pc.
It runs games incredibly fast, Bluetooth works flawlessly and looks amazing! It does not come with a keyboard but most gamers will not use it and have their own mouse and keyboard anyway. Great awesome beast of a machine!

Well built Mid-range, upgradable gaming desktop

Just got the 2024 ASUS ROG Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i7-14700F less than a week ago and have been putting it through its paces. Before I get into more of the technical specifications and test results, I’d like to say this is my very first pre-built gaming desktop. I have built many custom PCs over the years, majority with ASUS motherboards, video cards and plenty of overclocking. This ASUS “Republic of Gamers” tower came well packed and ready to go. Included is a small box with a few extra internal power supply cables, a SATA cable and external antennas for the built-in Wi-Fi adapter.
First time you power it on you may hear some faint “bubbles” which is the fluid traveling through the CPU liquid-cooled system, nothing to worry about, it went away in a couple of minutes. Completing the pre-installed Windows 11 64-bit operating system should take less than 20 minutes depending on how many steps you skip. There is no additional bloatware installed, just MyAsus Support App, Armoury Create and Aura Creator that allow you to customize your RGB case lighting and fans and manage the rest of the hardware drivers.
Now onto the exciting stuff - it came configured with 32 GB of DDR5 HK Hynix memory (2x 16GB DIMMS), and two Western Digital Blue 1 GB SSD M.2 NVME Gen 4 drives. The OS is installed on the first drive, and the 2nd drive is empty, formatted as the secondary/data drive. The description said it comes with “2 TB SSD”, which is true, but could be assumed that it’s a single 2 TB drive. Some may prefer to maximize all available/contiguous space in a single drive/partition, but from a performance standpoint, having two drives could be better, or you could set them up in a RAID1 mirror for redundancy, which will drop down to only 1 TB of usable capacity.
The 2024 Intel 14th Generation Raptor Lake Core i7-14700F is quite a workhorse, great for everything you throw at it, especially gaming. It comes with 8 high performance cores that can run crazy fast at up to 5.4 GHz and 12 energy efficient cores that are limited to a still very fast 4.2 GHz. The 20-cores combined with the 28 threads and 28 MB L2 cache and 33 MB of Intel Smart Cache makes this desktop great for multi-tasking, graphics rendering, content creation, productivity and photo/video processing and of course some serious gaming.
What makes this even more of a gaming desktop is the GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti video card w/8GB of dedicated DDR6 video memory. It also supports the latest DLSS 3 (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and Ray tracing that provides a fluid gaming experience for many games with high quality settings turned on. I have tried a few of my favorite older games such as Call of Duty, Rise of Tomb Raider and Grand Theft Auto V with high visual settings @1080p resolution and easily got over 100 fps. You’ll be able to play any modern AAA games at high or ultra settings on a 4K display without breaking a sweat. Moreover, you can easily upgrade the video card to a more powerful model down the road if need be. I also ran the classic 3DMark Time Spy benchmark out of the box with no updated drivers, no optimizations or overclocking and got a commendable score of 13,586 @4K which is better than 70% of all results, putting this ASUS ROG gaming desktop at least in the mid-range gaming desktop category, with plenty of room for expansion and upgradability.
Other notable features are 8 total USB ports, 4 in the back and 4 in the front - 2 x USB-A 3.2 and 2 x USB-C 3.2 in the front/top of the case. Also 1 x HDMI and 3 x DisplayPort ports on the video card. There is also the HDMI and DisplayPort built-in to the motherboard, but those are not enabled/usable in this configuration. A 2.5 GbE Ethernet RJ-45 port as well as Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211, Bluetooth 5.2 and both front and back classic headphone and microphone jacks are included. ASUS also includes a very nice external Wi-Fi antenna that has a magnetic base and a 30” long cable, so you can position it higher up for stronger signal reception.
All in all, I would say this is a very well built mid-level gaming desktop that can easily be upgraded to be even better and should satisfy most gamers that also need to get some work done. It is also a good value, you’ll end up paying at least a couple of hundred more if you purchased all the same components and put it together yourself.

HUGE upgrade for Gaming and Work

I have been hunting for a serious desktop for several months and, given my previous extremely positive experiences with ASUS and their products, they were at the top of my list for any pre-built. I have absolutely found all that I was looking for and more in this rigser
I use my PCs for a wide variety of tasks, including running multiple monitors for work and for gaming for both me and my kids. I don't typically get into the bleeding edge games that require insane builds and definitely don't need anything like a dedicated workstation for work but somehow this PC managed to absolutely blow my expectations away on both.
Before I mention performance, I just want to say that I think this is insanely clean build. The cable management is top-notch, the RGB is not overly obnoxious, and I love all of the small design details of the chassis that ASUS threw in just for fun. It looks like a gaming PC, but it somehow manages to remain quite handsome. There are two USB-C and two USB-A ports at the top of the chassis where they're easily accessible alongside a headphone port and mic port. Everything you need right there at your fingertips.
Quick Highlights:
Cinebench R23:
- 27832 multi-core score
- 2076 single core score.
Notes: The multi-core score rivals CPUs that had significantly more cores and cost more than this entire PC less than 5 years ago. The single core score is also representative of just how capable the i7-14700F is. It's incredible to see just how much the CPU space has advanced since 2018.
UserCPU Benchmark:
- Every component scored "outstanding"
- "UFO" score for Gaming, Desktop, and Workstation
Notes: The NVMe drives are incredibly quick showing insane read/write times and scoring well above the benchmark range. The GPU is listed as a standard RTX 4060Ti, but it has ASUS branding and I think they've cooked it a bit to get more performance, though I can't verify that.
Gaming is buttery smooth. The most graphically intensive game we typically play is Destiny 2, which this rig will play with max everything at 1440p with HDR and hold 110-130fps. I previously ran an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, and it would struggle to hold 70fps in D2 with max settings. For my work needs, running multiple monitors doesn't even begin to stress this rig; there is plenty of headspace for multiple programs, webpages, etc.
Overall, I find this pre-built to be an incredibly good value. I feel ASUS really delivered with this pre-built by optimizing components to price without compromising performance in any significant way. At the end of the day, it's all I need and more than I expected and that's a good place to be.

Set this up today and performance seems great. One word of caution if you are ordering this. I had it shipped and noticed a different model number came. I took it to the nearest store and they checked the one they had there with the same SKU that was on my order and it also had a different model number but the also same SKU as in my order. The model is G16CHR-71470F096W. The specs were the same. The memory was listed as 16G*2 and the SSD was listed as 1TB*2. So I set it up and it has, as expected, 2 16GB memory modules and interestingly, 2 1TB M2 SSDs. One is the system C drive and the other is set up as a D (Data) drive. The graphics card is the same 4060Ti. Everything else seems to be the same too, so I just decided to keep this since the 2 drives works for me. The 1 star deduction is for the model number confusion.
