Great Laptop

I chose this laptop for school and gaming, because of the portable size and great specs. I got this specific model over the 2060 variant mainly because of the color, and let me tell you, it looks amazing! the laptop looks sleek and professional with the aluminum casing. It does show fingerprints easily, but it can be easily cleaned. Also, the keyboard backlighting is much better with this colorway since the white light contrasts well with the black keys. The speakers are also suprisingly loud for the size, so that's another plus. I have yet to test it with gaming, but I am certain it will perform well, both thermally and graphically. The only downside for me is the lack of webcam, but a cheap external webcam is an easy fix. I definitely recommend this laptop if you're a student looking for a thin and light laptop that can handle gaming.

I'm really enjoying this laptop and haven't had any issues. I've been able to use programs such as Blender and FL Studio and feel like I'm getting near desktop-like performance in a very small form-factor. If you don't mind having aggressive fans and a toasty chassis, you can play AAA games such as COD MW and maintain 80-90FPS on mostly high settings. I will say that the fans do kick on and when you aren't using an intensive program you can open the Armoury Crate app to set it to "Windows" so that it isn't overclocking the CPU/GPU and the fans, though still on, they are only a whisper.
I will say indeed the keyboard backlight isn't impressive but is adequate if you need to occasionally glance down.

First gaming laptop, so far so good!

This is my first gaming laptop and I have to say that so far, it gets the job done. I have been a Mac user since 2011 and I only wanted to get a windows computer specifically for gaming. So, it took some time for me to get use to it. But I do think this laptop is great for playing games that are not too demanding. Although, I have tried GTA V on it but, I wasn’t too happy with the way it looked so I did a return on steam. However, I did some research and the settings needed to be tweaked a bit to make the game more bearable and appealing (I know I probably should of done that before returning it but oh well, still learning here!) I probably will give GTA v another shot in the future if it goes on sale, but for now, I’ll play around with the setting some more and try to understand what settings work for which games I would get in the future (specifically open world games). All in all, I do like the way the laptop looks and performs. The fans do get quite loud but just wear headphones. I do constantly look at the temps when I playing games but that’s because I get paranoid when the laptop gets a little warm. All in all, this laptop is great so far so I do recommend it if it’s your first pc gaming experience.

I bought this laptop a month ago and I am extremely happy about my choice! It can handle heavy games like Watch Dogs 2 and Far Cry: New Dawn with high or extreme graphical settings (60fps+). It is not even that loud, when the fans are working into the Turbo mode. With not that great headphones I am unable to hear the sound from fans. Quality of the product is great, keyboard sometimes gets hot under the load, but it is expected and does not influence the usage at all. Sound system is a big WOW! I can go to another room and still here the sound of a movie or a song from the laptop. The deal breaker for me was the battery. But I am pretty impressed with it in this gaming laptop! With the brightness up high I was able to watch 3 movies non-stop without charging the battery, so it gave me approximately 7-8 hours of performance. Microphone built in laptop is amazing with noise cancelling system it depicts everything greately! Overall, would recommend everyone!

This is an excellent laptop at this price point. Hits a sweet spot between the 13" and 15" laptops available today. This performs almost as well as a gaming 15", but is smaller and lighter.
Has great performance for everyday use. And with 16Gb ram, AMD Ryzen processor (at 2.9GHz base), and 6Gb Nvidia dedicated graphics make this capable of running games at triple digit frame rates.
It does get hot under gaming loads - would recommend a laptop cooler.
The fit / finish is perfect. The keyboard is good, has reasonable travel. I also like the straightforward single color / zone / 3 brightness level keyboard back light.
The display has good color saturation, contrast, excellent brightness, and the AMD software offers a number of user settings for customizing the display. The display itself is excellent with almost no backlight bleed at corners or edges.
The Armoury Crate offers the ability to customize CPU / GPU performance, fan speed, etc. However, one major complaint is that when using these programs, the default color presets have a slight green/red tint and are difficult to over ride.
If you set custom RGB color balance under control panel/display, these programs must be disabled to keep your settings - or they will revert to the default.
I do say however, that many may not notice this...
Track pad felt super smooth, and functioned perfectly.
I found setup, updates, downloads, went well without any issues.
Overall, I would recommend this for everyday use, browsing, surfing, and even most gaming.

Great choice for a beginner gaming laptop for our 15 year old. He’s able to use it for all of his school needs, online gaming, streaming, and basic coding and mods. Highly recommend.

Died almost to the day the warranty expired and could not be resurrected. It’s almost like these machines are designed to not last more than a year. Cost me $1800! Crazy.

Crypto mining on the go!

If your 1st question was "Will it mine crypto" the answer is a resounding YES. I bought it for an upcoming trip so I could Zoom and play WoW with my wife at the hotel since my old Alienware 14 is showing it's age. Looking at the specs and seeing it had 6G of memory I thought it might mine acceptably using Cudo miner and well... it earns more then than my two 8G RX480s combined!
Are the fans noisy at this level? A bit but not horrible and after 24+ Hours of mining the chassis/keyboard is not hot to the touch. The lighting on the keyboard - ugh. A touch typer would be fine but I'm not one and mistype a lot. Only two non C type ports so added a USB3C to USB 3 3 port hub for camera, mouse & headset to keep the others available for USB drives, phone or watch charging. etc.
Nice to mine on the hotel's dime!
